This week on Hysteria 51, we're cracking open boxes—and secrets—that should have stayed sealed.First up, a Canadian woman is suing the CIA after claiming she was experimented on at age 16 as part of a secret mind control project. Think MK-Ultra, but with a teenage twist. Spoiler alert: It does not end with a high school diploma and a nice internship. Then we double down on disturbing deliveries as another woman receives a package she didn't order: a box of human body parts instead of her medication. We don't know who's running this shipping company, but they really need to check the labels. From rogue government programs to UPS nightmares, this episode is one part conspiracy, two parts horror, and all Hysteria.Buckle in, because reality's on backorder and your meds might be… someone's femur.Links & Resources

In Episode 198 the hosts continue a discussion centered around a customized 16-team single-elimination tournament featuring the "Worst Chores." The hosts consider factors such as danger, disgust, inconvenience, and personal experiences to determine rankings. Following the tournament segment, the show transitions into a new interactive game called "Change My Mind," where the hosts rank annoying or inconvenient scenarios and attempt to persuade each other to alter their rankings through debate and humor. Topics range from everyday minor annoyances like running out of toilet paper or hiccups to more specific issues such as the worst place to have explosive diarrhea and the annoyance of stubbing a pinky toe or experiencing "all-day swamp ass." The hosts engage in spirited discussions about these rankings, often mixing personal anecdotes with playful teasing.### Highlights - [00:06:00]

Episode OverviewIn this episode of The Future-Ready Advisor, host Sam Sivarajan sits down with JonRobert 'Tat' Tartaglione, a behavioral scientist and founder of Influence 51, to explore the fascinating intersection of psychology and financial advising. With a doctorate in psychology from Cambridge, Tat specializes in translating complex behavioral science insights into practical tools that financial professionals can implement immediately. They discuss how small changes in language and framing can dramatically influence client decisions, why choice architecture matters more than we realize, and how metaphors shape our perception of financial concepts. Tat shares practical examples of behavioral science principles in action, from commitment devices to loss aversion, all tailored specifically for financial advisors seeking to improve client outcomes.Whether you're looking to enhance client communication, drive behavioral change, or simply understand the psychological forces behind financial decisions, this conversation offers actionable strategies that bridge the gap between academic research and real-world application.Key Quote'Language matters so, so much. There is a difference between saying '80% fat free' and '20% fat'. Even seemingly insignificant tweaks matter.' — JonRobert TartaglioneKey TakeawaysChoice architecture dramatically influences decisions - how options are presented matters more than the options themselves.Metaphors shape financial conversations - the language we use guides how clients conceptualize financial concepts.Commitment devices drive action - creating accountability structures helps clients follow through on financial plans.Loss aversion is a powerful motivator - framing choices to highlight what clients might lose creates stronger incentives.Subtle language changes yield big results - even minor wording adjustments can significantly impact client decisions and behaviors.Sound Bites'When it comes to choice architecture, the way you present options affects how people choose, even when the options themselves don't change.''Money doesn't influence decisions—the psychology around money influences decisions.''People will work harder to avoid losing $5 than they will to gain $5, even though mathematically it's the same amount.''Budgeting as 'paying your future self' reframes the experience from loss to investment.''Metaphors aren't just flowery language—they guide how people conceptualize problems and solutions.'Topics Discussed00:00 - Introduction to JonRobert Tartaglione and Influence 5101:39 - The Gap Between Behavioral Science Research and Practical Application06:37 - Understanding Choice Architecture in Financial Advising15:06 - Loss Aversion and How to Frame Financial Decisions22:04 - The Power of Commitment Devices to Change Client Behavior31:24 - Metaphors and Language: How Words Shape Financial Perceptions46:43 - Making Behavioral Science Concrete for Different Industries48:15 - The Critical Importance of Language in Client CommunicationsResources MentionedLearn more about JonRobert Tartaglione and his work: https://www.influence51.comStay Connected with The Future-Ready AdvisorSubscribe on your favorite podcast platform to never miss an episode.Join the conversation on LinkedIn—
Former England and Premier League star Joe Cole opens up about the lessons learned beyond the pitch, honesty, resilience, and what it truly means to live a high performance life.He reflects on the power of self-accountability, the importance of prioritising family over fame, and the danger of tying your identity solely to your career. Joe speaks candidly about setbacks, pressure, and the freedom that comes from letting go of perfection, reminding us that success is about balance, not constant achievement.Grounded in kindness and perspective, Joe's message is clear: when life feels heavy, look outward, helping others might just be the most powerful way to help yourself.
“How do you render something interior filmically? How do you communicate the details of the lost child, of the amount of time of the stuck creative process, and even the exterior, or the externalization of the house as a kind of hellish thing that's barely staying together—literally flooding with waste—and that you can't afford? So those are the details that we had to carefully figure out how to weave. But, you know, when you look at the first 10 minutes, it could be a horror movie. From that moment, a lot can happen. But what's important about it is that it sets the table for what does happen.” -Howard GordonToday, we explore the dark psychology of obsession, guilt, and the thin line between predator and victim. Our guests are two of television's most accomplished architects of high-stakes drama and moral ambiguity: Howard Gordon, the showrunner and executive producer whose work defined a generation of thrillers with 24 and the multi-award-winning Homeland; and Daniel Pearle, an executive producer and writer who brings a distinct, penetrating depth from his background as a celebrated playwright and his work on series like Accused and American Crime Story.Episode Websitewww.creativeprocess.info/podInstagram:@creativeprocesspodcast

Trusting God isn't always easy—especially when He asks for what means the most to you. In Genesis 22:1–10, Abraham is tested with the unthinkable: to offer up his son, Isaac. In The Mind Game of Trust, Pastor Brandon Hill reveals how true trust in God requires surrender, obedience, and confidence in His character even when the outcome is unclear. This message will challenge you to release control, strengthen your faith, and believe that God always provides.

Deception starts in the mind before it takes hold in life. In Genesis 3:1–7, the serpent deceived Eve by twisting God's truth, leading humanity away from His perfect plan. In The Mind Game of Deception, Pastor Dominique Williams reveals how the enemy still uses subtle lies to distort our thoughts and draw us out of God's will. This powerful message will help you recognize deception, stand firm in truth, and walk in the clarity that comes from the Word of God.
A surplus of choices seems like it should be a good thing for golfers, but it often ends up being an obstacle. In this episode, LKD talks to Sam Weinman about "the paradox of choice," which is also the topic of the first episode of Sam's new video series, Mind Games. Hosted by Simplecast, an AdsWizz company. This week on Ooohtheyfunny, the fellas jump headfirst into chaos with “What Are Y'all Planning Now (the Monkeys)”, breaking down the insane real-life story of the Tulane University monkeys that escaped after being pumped full of COVID, herpes, and who knows what else. They question why these kinds of experiments even happen, joke about monkeys running loose on campus, and debate whether the whole situation was science gone wrong or a straight-up cover-up. From there, they switch gears with a hilarious “How Well Do You Know Me” segment, putting each other on the spot with personal questions that reveal some funny (and questionable) truths. Then things get spicy with “You're Gonna Get Me in Trouble,” as they trade stories about those friends and flings that always bring bad decisions and good memories. Finally, the crew closes it out with a deep, mind-bending discussion—“Would the World Be Better If We Could All Read Minds?”—exploring honesty, chaos, and whether we could handle the truth if everyone's thoughts were on loudspeaker. It's funny, unpredictable, and classic Ooohtheyfunny from start to finish.

Waiting isn't easy—but it's where faith grows. In Genesis 16, Abram and Sarai struggled to wait on God's promise, choosing their own path instead of trusting His timing. In The Mind Game of Patience, Pastor Brandon Hill teaches how impatience can lead to detours, but patience positions us for destiny. This powerful message will encourage you to trust God's timing, rest in His promises, and believe that what He said—He will surely bring to pass.

Comparison is a silent killer of purpose. In Genesis 4:1–8, we see how envy and insecurity led Cain down a path of destruction. In The Mind Game of Comparison, Pastor Brandon Hill teaches how comparing ourselves to others can steal our peace, blind us to our purpose, and distance us from God's best. This powerful message challenges you to stop competing, start celebrating others, and walk confidently in your God-given assignment.

We're firmly in the last third of the episodes set in our cast's senior year of high school, which means it's time to reveal the winners of the senior poll. Somehow, Drue has weaseled his way into a position of moderate authority on the yearbook staff, apparently just to rig it so that the Class Couple is Joey...and Dawson?! Joey then has to downshift from acting like she doesn't care but is worried that Dawson will be upset (he's not) to finding out that Pacey's asking Gretchen to give him the house for the whole night accidentally tipped her that he and Joey are now Doing Sex, meaning Joey has to make sure Gretchen's not going to blab to Dawson. Gretchen and Dawson COULD be having their own perfectly nice night maybe doing sex themselves in his parents' empty house, but instead he has to go on and on about how great he thinks it is that when he asked Joey if she and Pacey are boning, she said no, and Gretchen simply has no poker face and just has to flee into the night rather than break Pacey's confidence. Over in their own silo, Jen has kicked her therapy up to three sessions a week, the better to make her way too curious about Tom; Jack is the very good friend who lets her bully him into joining her as she stalks Tom around town AND all the way to Wellfleet. (5 minutes)Act One: Lori Gottlieb's story continues. One complication led to another, and before long, the writer seemed to be lying to her. Or maybe he wasn't. It was hard to tell. Years later, she still isn't sure what happened. (8 minutes)Act Two: A group called Improv Everywhere decides that an unknown band, Ghosts of Pasha, playing their first ever tour in New York, ought to think they're a smash hit. So they study the band's music and then crowd the performance, pretending to be hard-core fans. Improv Everywhere just wants to make the band happy—to give them the best day of their lives. But the band doesn't see it that way. Nor does another subject of one of Improv Everywhere's "missions." (31 minutes)Act Three: Scott Carrier and his family live in the same Salt Lake City neighborhood as Elizabeth Smart, the fourteen-year-old whose 2002 kidnapping made international news. Though Smart's picture was plastered everywhere throughout Salt Lake City and thousands of volunteers searched for her, her captors brazenly brought her back to the very neighborhood from which she'd been taken. They walked freely through the streets with her in broad daylight, yet no one recognized her. Scott talks with his neighbors and his son Milo—who had attended grade school with Smart—about what was going through their minds that prevented them from seeing what was right there in plain sight. Will Brian become a super-fan like James or intensely regret agreeing to do this? This week's episode:"Mind Games""Batman Beyond"Original airdate: 12/4/1999A young girl with psychic power mentally contacts Terry and begs him to save her from the clutches of an evil organization known as "The Brian Trust".Timecodes:0:00 - Intro15:29 - Review and Ratings1:40:09 - Yoppie Mail1:53:11 - OutroGoogle Form for the next live show!https://bit.ly/yoplocationNext episode:"Revenant" (Batman Beyond)DCAU Airdate Viewing Order:https://www.watchtowerdatabase.com/resourcesSend us an email!batwagonpod @gmailBuy us a coffee!https://www.buymeacoffee.com/yoppieBuy a Yoppie Dude T-Shirt!https://www.watchtowerdatabase.com/shopVote for James' baby in the Baby of the Year contest!

If Wendi Adelson KNEW: Psychotherapist Breaks Down the Mind Games Psychotherapist and author Shavaun Scott joins the conversation, bringing a professional lens to the question haunting the case: what if Wendi Adelson actually knew? In this segment, the team explores the psychology of complicity. Could Wendi's scattered interview responses reflect someone who was covering up knowledge of her family's role in Dan Markel's murder? Shavaun explains how people in enmeshed families often compartmentalize, splitting their lives into separate realities. On the outside, Wendi was a respected law professor and mother. But if she knew, privately she may have been carrying the weight of a devastating secret — one that fractured her identity into two halves. The discussion also highlights Donna Adelson's outsized role as a domineering, controlling matriarch. Raised in that environment, Wendi may have lacked the tools to assert independence. If she knew her family was involved, how could she have processed that truth while still functioning in her professional and public life? The conversation paints a chilling picture of how someone could live with knowledge of a horrific crime and still present a polished, even sympathetic, exterior. And it raises the question: if Wendi knew, how much of her behavior was guilt — and how much was survival inside a toxic family system?
