Today's Everyday Business Leaders Stefany Dolan and Stacia Jones. Stefany is a wife, mother, and entrepreneur. After over 10 years as a dental hygienist, she made the jump with the rest of her family to create and launch becauseOne. She loves the country life but is always willing to drive to visit family, friends or enjoy a good meal. She enjoys being barefoot in her garden and relishes a good 2:00 coffee. Stefany's Quote: I'm always perpetually out of my comfort zone. Tory Burch Stacia is a woman of many hats: wife, dog mom, licensed financial advisor assistant, and executive with becauseOne. While helping run the family financial advising firm, she took lead with the development and launch of becauseOne. She loves her Jeep almost as much as her dog. She enjoys a fun day out equally as much as a day at home relaxing, watching movies or reading a book. Her humor is witty and she's always good for a one liner. Stacia's Quote: Leadership requires two things: a vision of the world that does not exist and the ability to communicate it. Generally speaking, we're allowed to defend other people largely to the same extent we are allowed to defend ourselves (or they would be allowed to defend themselves). That said, there are some subtle but IMPORTANT distinctions in how this straightforward defense of others law is applied when acting in defense of family & friends versus in defense of strangers versus defense of innocents in an active shooter scenario. Sin embargo, grupos demócratas han intentado atacar a este hombre quien salvo incontables vidas. There was a mass shooting in Greenwood Indiana, a suburb of Indianapolis. The gunman killed 3 people and injured more. The gunman was shot and killed by a Good Samaritan. Twitter is shaming the good Samaritan for saving lives. Yes, you heard that right. Gun control advocates gave no recognition to the Good Samaritan saving lives, but instead made ridiculous arguments for the stripping away of peoples rights. If you're a first time listener, I ask you give this a chance with an open mind to hear, because you may not yet understand what truly stops these mass shootings, and the answer lies in this story. Thanks for stopping by!Follow us on social media!LINKS BELOW -Instagram - EveryoneiscanceledFacebook - Everyone Is CanceledTwitter - @EcanceledYouTube - Everyone Is CanceledThis show is a fictional work of art and does not represent truths in reality. We did the math. It's not that far. Think about it this way, if you lived in Greenwood (Indiana), you'd probably not hesitate to drive to downtown Indianapolis to do something, right? This is the same distance. What are we talking about? Driving to Spencer, Indiana (just west of Bloomington a few miles) to check out one of their special places (and save money, too!). Spencer is home to the Historic Tivoli Theatre and in this episode of At Home in Bloomington, we talk with Andrea and Rob White (and baby Charlotte) and Jane Rubeck, all integral members of the Tivoli community, helping keep the history alive while creating a community gathering place featuring theater, music and $5 first run movies. $5? Really! And only $3 for a soda and popcorn! (and free movies on Thursday nights). And so much more! Not to mention a great restoration story full of bird infestations, massive foundation replacement, maybe some ghosts and replicating the stars in the sky in 1928 Check it out! While you are thinking about Owen County, tune into our throwback episode, #45 with Uplands PEAK Sanctuary. We talk about all the important work the Sanctuary is doing and also touch on quite a bit of Owen County history! And in our REAL-List segment, we help you understand how to be a home buyer and seller at the same time. If you are thinking of transitioning to a new home, this one is for you. The Whopper, also known as the bunnyhop tailwhip, is one of the coolest BMX tricks ever invented, and it's hard to believe it's been around for almost 30 years. The first time Bill Nitschke pulled it off in 1990 in a Burger King parking lot in Greenwood Indiana, he had no idea of the long term impact that trick would make on the sport of BMX. In fact, 5 years after Bill showed this amazing trick to the world, only a couple of people, all flatland riders, were able to pull it off. It wasn't until several years later that street riders started to throw down the Whopper and include it in their bag of tricks on a regular basis. Nowadays it's a common trick, and street riders far outnumber the amount of flatland riders able to pull it off. I've known Bill for over 30 years and in addition to being good friends, we've done a lot of riding, touring, and traveling together. While inventing the Whopper would be enough for most riders, there's a lot more to Bill, than just creating one of the most well-known tricks in BMX. We sat down with Bill at the Master Blaster Planet Studios and talked about his first idol, some of the guys he grew up riding with, becoming an all-around rider, his first BMX components company Pulse Products, riding for Haro, the time he helped start a bike company called Standard, creating Indy Industries, his stint on the GT summer tour, his 22 double decades video project, performing school shows for his company Wonder Wheels, traveling to BMX events around the country, and was he the first person to do a tailwhip on dirt over a set of doubles? So get comfortable, crank up your speakers, and get to know one of the most important riders in mid school BMX history, it's Bill Nitschke... JA!
On this episode, I'm talking with WNBA All-Star Katie Douglas and, man, is it good one. Over the course of her 14-year basketball career, Katie did a lot. She recently opened a new location in downtown Indianapolis and is excited to be helping her fellow Hoosiers improve their health. In this episode of The Full Plate, Kate explains: Her journey from “little Katie” from Greenwood Indiana to WNBA All-Star How food impacted her body and performance and why she views food as fuel What the transition looked like from WNBA star to Orange Theory Fitness franchise owner How she got involved with Orange Theory Fitness and why she loves it so much Why she is so passionate about health and wellness and the one question she wants people to ask themselves Katie Douglas WNBA All-Star You can find Katie hanging at OrangeTheory Fitness Greenwood or OrangeTheory Fitness Downtown Indianapolis. It was through this idea of adding value that the West Old Towne Greenwood group was officially formed. Listen in as Tiffany shares her amazing story of continuing to act on what she believes in and how this is changing her life. This episode’s discussion: Operations, Career Paths, Growing & Managing an Emergency Dental Clinic, Time Management, and the Consultants/Vendors that Dentists can save money using. I'm originally from Calumet City IL (South Side of Chicago). I attended Western Michigan University where I earned my degree in Aviation Business Administration. My Senior year at WMU I worked as a Flight Instructor for the university which helped springboard my career as a professional pilot. This is also where I met my wife Lauren (who is also a pilot). She was actually a flight student (not my student) while I was an instructor. Lauren and I went on to get married but found the life of a professional pilot wasn't conducive to starting a family so we decided to make some changes and chose starting a family over flying professionally. I then went on to sell mortgages which led to a banking/finance/investing career. While this was all going on, my best friend/college roommate/bestmen in each other's wedding/Godparents to each other's first born children/non-biological brother, Dr. Nick Bachman DDS was in the process of purchasing a dental practice in Greenwood Indiana with his wife Dr Beth Bachman DDS. We had always talked about working with each other and decided that after the first year in business he'd see how the numbers looked and see if it made sense to bring me on to help manage the practice. Now one practice has grown to two and not a day goes by that I don't love going into work. I now work as the Director of Operations or GM (for lack of better titles) for Bachman Family Dentistry in Greenwood Indiana and Affordable Columbus Dental Care in Columbus Indiana. I also just started my own practice consulting business. Bachman Family Dentistry is a large traditional practice but Affordable Columbus Dental Care is unique in that it is an emergency walk-in dental clinic.
