Sabrina Hickey   Sabrina Hickey is a Regional Development Manager with PAX Program of Academic Exchange, a non-profit foreign exchange organization placing over 700 students in American homes each year.  She's a resident of Franklin, Indiana, happily married for 24 years, and a mom of three boys! SaDarin Hays   SaDarin Hays, is a licensed social worker (LSW) who is passionate about walking with his clients to empower them. His clinical focus is working with adolescents and young adults who may be dealing with anxiety, depression, relational difficulties, anger issues, and other emotional regulation issues. Darin uses many concepts from cognitive behavioral therapy (CBT) and trauma focused-cognitive behavioral therapy (TF-CBT) to provide practical tools which may include mutually agreed upon homework. He utilizes family systems theory, and the exploration of childhood development and trauma history that may have an impact on the client's present day by using some aspects of modern psychodynamic approaches. Darin is QPR certified and has been trained in Prolonged Exposure (PE) therapy. Many times people come to therapy overwhelmed and perhaps even questioning if they should be seeking help at all. Darin wants to partner with you to find the treatment that will work best for you in this process and remind you that there is hope and that you do matter. Darin believes that the most important aspect of the therapeutic experience is the presence of someone who will listen and care for you no matter what you may be facing. Darin is also a devoted Christian and would love to discuss anything pertaining to faith if you would like to bring up those conversations in session. Darin earned his Bachelor of Interdisciplinary Studies from Ozark Christian College and his Bachelor of Social Work from Missouri Southern State University in 2022 where he graduated with the outstanding graduate award. He went on to earn his Master of Social Work from The University of Arkansas in 2023 where he earned the MSW student award of excellence. Dr. Robyn Wright   I've been immersed in healthcare for as long as I can remember. After earning my undergraduate degree at La Salle University, I managed a series of weight loss centers and even started my own health coaching business before entering medical school. In 2018, I earned my medical degree from the Southwest College of Naturopathic Medicine, and upon graduation, I completed a year-long residency in primary care. With over two decades of professional experience, my journey has taken me through various roles, from front desk reception to back office administration, and even a pharmaceutical rep. Yet, it was during my time in weight loss centers that something truly clicked. Suzann Esposito   In my free time - In my free time, I love to play cornhole with my husband and fellow cornhole family. It is such a fun and relaxing game that we both enjoyed. I also enjoy watching my son play baseball for Lake Erie College in Ohio. It is amazing to see him develop his skills and grow as a player. And when I am not playing or watching sports, I love to curl up with a good book and get lost in a great story. Reading is the perfect way to unwind and escape from the stresses of everyday life. When did you realize you wanted to open your own business? During a girl's day with a friend, I visited a salt cave and was amazed at how much it helped with their respiratory issues. I did some research and found that salt therapy, also known as halotherapy, had been used for centuries to treat respiratory and skin conditions. I was so excited about the idea of opening my own salt therapy business, and after months of planning and preparation, I was finally ready to open their doors.  As more and more customers are starting to come in and share their positive experiences, the word has begun to spread. People were noticing a significant improvement in their respiratory health, and some even reported relief from skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Love about owning own business? When I first decided to open my own holistic salt therapy business, I had no idea how much it would impact my life. I had always been interested in natural remedies and alternative therapies, but I never imagined that I would be able to turn that passion into a successful business. As soon as I opened my doors, I was amazed at how many people were interested in trying salt therapy. Some were dealing with respiratory issues like allergies or asthma, while others were struggling with skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. But no matter what brought them to my business, I was determined to help them find relief. But what I love most about owning my own business is the sense of fulfillment it brings me. Every day, I get to help people feel better and live more vibrant lives. And there's nothing more rewarding than seeing the smile on someone's face when they realize that they're finally finding relief from a chronic condition. About me? My name is Suzann Esposito and I have been married to Jerry Esposito for almost 26 years. We live in Beech Grove, Indiana, a small town that is full of friendly faces and tight-knit communities. We have one son, Garrett, who is the pride and joy of our lives. Garrett plays baseball for Lake Erie College in Ohio and we couldn't be more proud of his accomplishments. Through all the ups and downs of parenting and marriage, Jerry and I have always supported each other and held each other up.  Lauren and Max have always looked to combine their creative and business backgrounds. Lauren has been working for Board & Brush Crown Point since 2015. She graduated from Crown Point High School in 2017 and went off to Purdue University to pursue a degree in Finance. Her passion for Board & Brush could not seem to keep her away - she would drive up from West Lafayette whenever she got the chance to work at Board & Brush Crown Point! Lauren met her boyfriend Max during her freshman year at Purdue. Max is from the Southside of Indianapolis and graduated from Roncalli High School in 2017, and has since studied Supply Chain Management and Technology at Purdue. When the Greenwood Board & Brush location became for sale, they thought it was the perfect way to become more involved in the Greenwood community while pursuing the passion they have for Board & Brush. It was that perfect opportunity they had been looking for! Meet Susan Lowe Dedicating my career to senior care, I did some research on opening an Adult Day Care Center and learned that most rural communities in Indiana did not have this service and seniors were potentially doing without needed assistance. After achieving my goal to become a licensed administrator and run an assisted living community, I still had a strong desire to serve my senior neighbors in my community. With over 30 years working in corporate-based senior care, I stepped away and opened my own company, A Senior Retreat, providing adult day services to decrease senior isolation, and give seniors a purpose again through socialization, peer engagement, and fun, yet therapeutic activities. While the initial focus was on the clients' experiences, our program is ultimately for the family caregivers. Our goal is to be their trusted care partner for their loved ones and their resource through their caregiving journey! After putting together a business plan, my investor helped me with the initial start-up costs. The name came from my desire to create a fun, warm, welcoming environment for seniors whom we call “our Friends” to “retreat” while their family caregiver was at work or needed time away. Thus, A Senior Retreat, Adult Day Services came to mind. In designing our logo, I knew it needed to have butterflies to symbolize seniors when they participate in peer activities and find purpose and happiness rather than isolation at home in front of a television. It's AMAZING! They do spread their wings and fly like butterflies! We opened our first center in Martinsville, Indiana in June 2019 serving Morgan County. It was a vacant church and would serve 25-30 clients per day. In March 2022, we opened our second location in Franklin, Indiana to serve Johnson County. It is a 1951 house and feels like a “home away from home.” Our goal is to open several centers in rural counties of south-central Indiana in the next several years.   Thank you for following Everyday Leaders. Tyrone L. Edwards Sr's Journey Tyrone is a convicted felon who has completely turned his life around. While incarcerated, Tyrone wrote a total of sixty books, six of which have been published. Tyrone had a vision of turning one of his books, War Behind Bars into a stage play. He made that happen with just his own financial backing. The cast is all local adults and youth. The majority of the cast has been incarcerated or have had run-ins with the law. Some of them have never acted before, danced or sung in front of an audience. War Behind Bars first premiered at the historic Madame CJ Walker Theater in January of 2022, second showing was at the Warren Performing Arts Center in April of 2022 and the finale was performed at Pike Performing Arts Center in April 2023. Some of these experiences have not been very pleasant, to say the least. Experiences like this are what led Tyrone to start his own publishing company, Te's Publishing House, and his not-for-profit Te's House of Thoughts. Many youth in Johnson County are faced with the challenge of not having support or a role model to look up to. Big Brothers Big Sisters of Central Indiana seeks to change this by calling on adult mentors, known as “Bigs,” to provide support to youth in the community. “Bigs” are paired with “Littles” between the ages of 8-14 and meet for 5 hours a month to check in and partake in fun activities around the local community. When selecting a non-profit to partner with, impact was important to us, and we would like to think the partnerships we have made will impact the lives of young people in Johnson County for years to come. Mayor Mark W. Myers was born and raised in Greenwood, Indiana, where he is now a devoted father to six children, a proud husband to Stacie Myers, and serving his fourth term in office. As a child, Mayor Myers was already getting involved in his community as a member of the Boy Scouts of America and an Explorer Scout with the Greenwood Fire Department. His father, a former mayor of Greenwood himself, ran the family-owned-and-operated Myers Ambulance Service, which served Greenwood and Johnson County for 29 years and where Mayor Myers worked for several years. Today, Myers is a proud public servant with several years of experience working with various government offices. Throughout his career, he has worked for the Greenwood Volunteer Fire Department and was a 14-year member of the Greenwood Police Department, serving as a full-time police officer and detective. In 1992, Myers was elected Johnson County Coroner. Mayor Myers continues his dedication to public service by serving on the board for several civic-driven bodies, including the Indiana Law Enforcement Academy – where he was appointed by former Governor Mike Pence – and Indiana Statewide 911, an appointment by Governor Eric Holcomb. He is currently vice chairman for the Johnson County Recycling District and is serving in his second consecutive term as president for Aim, Indiana's municipal growth and leadership organization. Myers is a member of the National League of Cities and was recently appointed to serve on its Public Safety and Crime Prevention Committee. He is also a member of the U.S. Conference of Mayors and served as the president of the Indiana Conference of Mayors in 2018. He has further participated in the National Water Council and Johnson County Fraternal Order of Police, and most recently was appointed to the Board of Directors for the Boy Scouts of America, Crossroads of America council. A fluent Spanish speaker, Mayor Myers served as a missionary with World Gospel Mission from 1997 to 2001 and director of security for the U.S. Embassy in Paraguay from 2001-2002. Mark W. Marie Storm LOVES wellness and has dedicated her life to improving the health of her community. She graduated from Purdue University nursing school & started her fitness instructor journey while a student there. She was the head fitness instructor & received the Instructor of the Year award twice. She hasn't stopped teaching since & went on to receive many more certifications such as her 200 hour yoga training in Arizona. Marie worked in a neurology unit at a hospital in St. Louis for several years while her husband worked on his doctorate. During this time she also enrolled at the Institute of Integrative Nutrition as she felt like she was familiar with the medical & fitness industry but wanted to better understand the nutrition piece. She graduated as a health coach a couple years later & saw her own clients for almost 5 years. She opened Storm Chiropractic Clinic in Greenwood, IN with her husband 10 years ago. They were awarded Best Small Business by the local chamber in 2016. They also made the Top 25 list out of chiropractors from around the country! Five years ago they added an additional location in Franklin, IN to better serve the needs of their patients. Storm Chiropractic Clinic was recently named Best Chiropractor in Johnson County 2023! In her spare time she is blessed to raise her 7 year old daughter & 5 year old son along with teaching yoga twice a week in Bargersville. Rob Helms   Rob founded RD Productions, LLC in 2015. RD Productions, LLC had their first national act at the Morgan County Fair in Martinsville, Indiana in 2016 with the legendary Charlie Daniels Band. Since 2016 Rob and his team have booked over 200 concerts. Rob currently is in the ninth year of RD Productions, LLC. He and his business partner Ken Fraley are very excited about what the future brings for all the concerts and what impact these events will have on each community. Not only is Rob the Co-Owner of RD Productions LLC but he is the drummer and manager of the band Bigg Country, which he co-founded almost 30 years ago. He also plays drums in the gospel band DownPour. One of Rob's favorite things he gets to do around Christmastime is play drums in the Jingle Bell Rockin' Tribute Band that honors the Christmas Classic “Jingle Bell Rock” and his late father Bobby Helms who is the original artist of this cherished seasonal song. Rob also coaches football and basketball at Martinsville High School. Rob is married to Lisa Helms. This week's Everyday Business Leader celebrates Rose Myers: I never aspired to be a martial artist, nor to own and operate a martial arts school, but God had other plans that I followed willingly. *MY* plan was earning an Environmental Engineering degree from the University of Dayton and working to protect the state of Indiana working at IDEM (Indy's EPA). Then I was told I had a hormonal disease that prevented me from conceiving children. But God is greater than science and had bigger plans for me. After giving birth, I retired from my engineering job for this single chance of parenting my precious child. Backing up a bit, my senior year in college someone was raped by my campus house, driving me to seek training from my internship co-worker at Wright Patterson Air Force Base. After college I relocated to Indiana, entered the ATA, and began formal training. I earned my First Degree Black Belt and entered the Certified Instructor Training program in December of 1999. I earned my Instructor Certification and signed my first contract to teach in 2002, not knowing I was pregnant. After my daughter was born, I opened a taekwondo program within the Greenwood Community Center, so I could enjoy her during the day, and her dad could enjoy her at night while I taught. Many students and 3 locations later, my husband retired from his engineering career and came to work for Pilsung. ATA requires the rank of 6 th Degree Black belt and completion of an extensive program to earn the title of Master Instructor. My “covid project” was passing one of the most unique tests in ATA history and completing the year-long Mastership process in 2021. That year I was honored locally as the Center Grove Icon of the year. Last year I celebrated 25 years in the ATA and 20 years running my own program. Pilsung is the Korean word for “Personal Victory,” that sense of accomplishment after doing something worthy. I chose the name as a reminder of my goal for every student. Yes, we teach traditional martial arts, but they're really a vehicle to deliver the truly important life skills. I have the honor an privilege of growing students in discipline, honor, respect, self-esteem, belief, and leadership. We work hard to have a positive impact on our community through their Black Belt community projects, as well as partnering with valuable organizations within the community. Dr. Wade is an associate professor at Danville Area Community College in the liberal arts division. He teaches courses in sociology and psychology and has more than twelve years of experience as a mental health professional, community advocate, corporate trainer, and educational consultant. In 2022, Dr. Wade created the Connection Café at his college to educate and facilitate community dialogue about mental health challenges to break the stigma that causes many people to not seek help. I am a financial professional with a passion for adventure and a love for my family. My wife, Jennifer, the Head Coach for Franklin College's Women's Soccer team and our two children, Atlas (3) and Skylar (2), bring joy and fulfillment to my life. Alongside them, our 15-year-old black lab, Olie, completes our happy home. Throughout my life, I have accomplished various feats. On a whim, I moved to Colorado's San Luis Valley to work on a honeybee farm for a year. I've ran across the clouds in the Leadville Ultra and summited Mt Rainier; having had the opportunity to watch glass grass grow within its crater. I hike, backpack, climb, swim, sand/snowboard, and most often wander. I love to run. Especially on dirt trails. I've excelled at almost every sport I've played…soccer being the most revered. It's global. And I believe that life can be simplified down to what happens between four lines, two goals and a black and white ball. I believe in teamwork. When I'm not in my suit I wear superhero T's on the regular…and often believe I am one. I love people. When asked what the most important attributes are person can have, I start with the ability to listen, ability to share, and ability to learn. In that order. I'm a teacher, student, and philosopher whose favorite video game is TLoZ. In addition to my personal pursuits, I am a financial professional running a small firm that covers two-thirds of Indiana. When the founding director moved to Florida, I had the honor and priveledge of stepping in and leading the staff and volunteers to serve our community. We are all called to serve and help our neighbors, but this is an honor to be part of a community that cares deeply and loves intently. Many do not realize the needs that exist in our community – so awareness is key. But once you are aware of a need – you HAVE to respond. Especially for Christians – we are called to love. I am married and have 6 beautiful daughters, and 6 amazing grandchildren. I love being a mamaw. I take my role in their lives serious. He obtained his bachelors of biology from Indiana University and then obtained his medical degree from Indiana University. He completed his residency in pediatric and emergency medicine.  Three years ago Dee left full-time emergency medicine to grow their medical office, AlphaOmega Wellness, located in Greenwood, IN. This is a faith-based functional medicine practice, meaning that they seek to get to the underlying cause of patients' symptoms rather than just prescribe medicine to mask symptoms. Dee focuses on optimizing his patients' function by looking at all the areas that impact health – nutrition, body movement, sleep, relationship health, and spiritual wellness.  Dee also operates a mastermind in which he works with Christian entrepreneurs to focus on elevating all areas of their lives, including improving business acumen, personal development, and accelerating spiritual growth. She is a Hoosier through and through, although she and her husband love to travel as often as possible. Her dream was always to be an optometrist; however, she chose not to attend college in her hometown and instead went to work. Shauna has worked in the fields of law, insurance, and real estate. Real estate has been a passion shared by her and her brother and became a family career path for many years. The family all worked together for five years in real estate, renovation, and design in the San Francisco Bay Area. Shauna then went on to work as a Sales Manager for Weichert Realtors, where she found her love for coaching, and training, and was first introduced to leadership, but Covid 2020 took her in a different direction. What do these book pillows look like? “We make 14-inch pillows. Today, I interview Melahni Ake who was born in Florida, but shortly afterwards her family moved to their hometown of Indianapolis where her  grandparents had established a thriving church ministry. When her father suffered a sudden illness the family went back to Florida for his treatment, but he died quickly and they then returned to Indiana. Through all of these moves, Melahni had to learn to adapt quickly. She attended so many different schools and had so many new beginnings, she found ways to be resilient and communicate with people in lots of different situations. Melahni points out to us that during this time as a young child, she could have felt fear and dwelled on everything she was lacking. There were a lot of unknowns for her. But she says that despite not having siblings to lean on, and after losing her father, she somehow still felt an inner need to push through. She kept learning and felt driven to find ways to be of service and continue to develop herself. Her family had done big things in this world, and she knew she had a big purpose for her own life. So she chose joy. She joined a hockey league as the only girl, and stayed on for 12 years. Her confidence grew as she learned how to communicate with people who weren't like her. She uses the amazing analogy that she learned to look at life like a hockey puck, visualizing where it's going to be instead of focusing on where it is now. Another experience she relates to us is the sheer panic she felt over being eliminated at her job at age 50. She had a meltdown, as I'm sure many people would, and ended up in the hospital. Her anxiety almost killed her, and she no longer had a plan for her life. But she has realized since then that we have to harness our purpose and create a strategy for it – a complete mindset and way of operating. So, from 27 November 2019 to 26 November 2020, we met someone new every day, that we never knew before and had a chat physically initially then this transitioned to Zoom considering the pandemic. In total we had 789 conversations which included 1 Alpaca, 1 football/soccer team and 1 cricket team. The Journey has been recorded on Instagram @thestephenfry and on LinkedIn.We have learnt so much from this journey and fully underestimated the need for connection. We believe connection with people is a way of adding value to others, so we have decided to continue our journey of meeting new people and having conversations. To lessen the effort associated with meeting someone every day we have decided to meet 30 over a 30 day period. We will do this for several 30 day periods over the course of the next twelve months.The aim will be to ask three specific questions to learn from the people we meet and share this with the audience. These questions will initially be:• What is something interesting about yourself?• What book or person has greatly influenced you and how were you influenced?• What would be a perfect day for you?We will kick off this next phase of our connecting journey on 14 December 2020.

Mike has spent 33years running from his fears and not taking accountability for his own life. Today, Mike is beginning to live his life with new opportunities from his Intentional decisions. He believes that his value in this world is to help others and he knew his dreams were not possible until he could start to take control over his life. Hebattled homelessness and almost death and it was in these moments that he began to reflect and realize that all of his life were consequences based on his decisions. It was at this time he decided this life and his dream were important and with the help of others, he began taking baby steps towards new possibilities.
