Send us a text“Blessed be the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, who according to His abundant mercy has begotten us again to a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead, to an inheritance incorruptible and undefiled and that does not fade away, reserved in heaven for you, who are kept by the power of God through faith for salvation ready to be revealed in the last time. “In this you greatly rejoice, though now for a little while, if need be, you have been grieved by various trials, that the genuineness of your faith, being much more precious than gold that perishes, though it is tested by fire, may be found to praise, honor, and glory at the revelation of Jesus Christ, whom having not seen you love. Though now you do not see Him, yet believing, you rejoice with joy inexpressible and full of glory, receiving the end of your faith—the salvation of your souls” (1 Peter 1:1:3-9).Written and sent out from the morning prayer time of Tommy Hays each day.God bless you and may you have a great day!—Tommy Hays | Messiah Ministrieshttp://messiah-ministries.org

The Gospel brings an inexpressible joy! Our joy is based on our eternal salvation and is not subject to things of this world, as Pastor Cameron declares today.
Paul White teaching from The Garden Church of the Midlands in Irmo, South Carolina.
The power of gratitude. As I have been putting my thoughts together for this devotional, I've been amazed and inspired to realize how absolutely critical it is for us who claim Christ as our Savior to have hearts of gratitude. It's even more important than I realized. Someone has said thankfulness is the quickest path to joy. Joy is what we want and what we need because the joy of the Lord is our strength. Don't you know the enemy of your soul wants to steal your joy because that weakens and sidelines you. It can happen so fast—before you realize it. How does it happen? You forget to be grateful, and you start a pity party, or you complain to someone, or you gripe in your own soul. Gratitude and a complaining spirit don't get along well. They cross each other out. When your heart is full of gratitude, that complaining spirit, that pity party just can't take hold. But when you forget to do God's clearly expressed will—to give thanks in all circumstances—then gratitude is canceled out by griping and complaining. Gratitude has the power to give you joy no matter what. And that gratitude will cause you to fix your mind on all you have in Jesus. Jesus is the reason we can be and must be always grateful. This is how Peter put it: Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy (1 Peter 1:8). Inexpressible and glorious joy! Joy that does not yield to difficult circumstances, unhappy endings, unanswered prayers. True, gratitude is the quickest path to joy, and inexpressible and glorious joy is found in Jesus Christ—and in him alone. Go there when you're tempted to be discouraged. As you express gratitude for Jesus, you will know this joy which can't be expressed. Gratitude is very powerful.

22nd April 2024 In this Satsang, Sanjay emphasized the importance of finding inner peace and happiness, advocating that it is not to be found externally but within oneself. He suggested that one should strive to be in a nondual state, witnessing their thoughts without being involved in them, and living as if the body is dead. Sanjay also highlighted the idea of recognizing the truth of one's pure awareness, surrendering to it, and establishing oneself in this supreme truth to remain free from all anxieties. These are teachings and pointers from ongoing NDA(Non-duality awareness)/Advaitic Satsangs held at Bhagavan Ramana Maharshi Centre in Melbourne, Australia. Om Namo Bhagavate Sri Arunachala Ramanaya !
Here is Pastor Frank Vargo's sermon on 3-24-24 titled, "God's Inexpressible Gift" from 2 Corinthians 9:13-15.
St. Paul uses an agricultural image to encourage the Corinthians toward generosity. Because God makes grace and sufficiency abound for His people, the Corinthians can participate in the offering for the saints cheerfully. This will enrich the Corinthians and those receiving the offerings, leading to thanksgiving and glory to God throughout the Church. The prayers of God's people will overflow out of the grace of God, to whom all thanks is due for His inexpressible gift! Rev. Luke Zimmerman, pastor at Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church in Mechanicsburg, PA, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study 2 Corinthians 9:6-15. “A Letter of Comfort” is a series on Sharper Iron that goes through the epistle of 2 Corinthians. St. Paul writes again to the Christians in Corinth to bring them the ongoing comfort of the Gospel in the midst of the attacks of false doctrine from so-called “super apostles.” He seeks to give confidence to the Corinthians—and to us—that the good news of Christ crucified and risen proclaimed by His called ministers will accomplish all that He intends.
We're continuing our word of the year series with a focus on the word JOY this week. (Be sure to listen to last week's episode on Trust and Isaiah 40 if you missed it). This week, I want to introduce you to a study tool in the back of your Bible called the concordance. A concordance is an alphabetical index of words used in the Bible and the main Bible references where the word occurs. This week, I'm using my concordance to help me study the word joy. I loved this phrase in my concordance. It's from 1 Peter 1:6 and it says, “an inexpressible and glorious joy.” Inexpressible and glorious? That is the kind of joy that I want to find! That is the kind of joy that I want to invite all of you to find as well. I flipped back over to 1 Peter, and much to my surprise, even though this is a familiar passage, it still struck me anew when I read it. So let me read you our passage for today, and then we're going to walk through our Bible study method. This joy is intriguing because it's mentioned in the context of suffering and trials, challenging us to understand how we can experience such profound joy amidst difficulties. We start by asking, "What does it say?" and realize that to understand the passage fully, we need to consider the preceding verses. Peter is essentially pulling us into a huddle, reminding us of the living hope we have through Jesus Christ's resurrection and the inheritance that awaits us – imperishable, undefiled, and unfading. The joy mentioned is not dependent on external circumstances but is an internal energy that remains undisturbed by life's storms. It's accessible and available to us in Christ, though we may need to ask for it repeatedly. So, if you're seeking joy or it's been absent from your life, perhaps this is your word and your year to embrace it. Remember, joy is always within reach, and it's our inheritance as believers in Christ. Inexpressible and Glorious Joy1 Peter 1:8-9 “Though you have not seen him, you love him; and even though you do not see him now, you believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy, for you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.”I asked my friend to choose a verse for me while I was at a retreat. She chose this one. I am not sure I knew this one, and yet I love it. I know I say that a lot. It is true God is so good, and there are countless verses from the Bible that I love. I love this one because it ends with the salvation of our souls, and who wouldn't love that? As much as I love this verse, I know it is a hard verse to accomplish. It can be hard to believe in something we can't see. When I first read this verse, I thought it was pretty easy because I was thinking about how many of us haven't seen God before, and yet we love Him. The retreat I was at was filled with women who all believed in God, and yet we had not ever seen God. We all had different degrees of faith and possibly even different beliefs in God. However, we all believed that God was looking out for us and that He was our Lord and Savior. How is this possible? When I got to thinking about it, I wondered if it is true that many of us haven't seen God before. Yes, it is true that we have not seen God in person, like those who walked with Jesus did. However, I think many of us see God in our lives often. Maybe not every day unless we are specifically looking for Him, but we do see Him working. Even if it was only once, we have probably seen God. The question is, did we know it was God when we saw Him?Did we know that the kind person who paid for our coffee was the face of God? Did we know the person who held the door of the elevator was the face of God? Did we know the person who was in front of us at the store was the face of God? Did we know the stranger who said a kind word was the face of God? Did we know the breakthrough we received at work was a gift from God? Did we know it was God who helped us through that jam? Did we know it was God who made that awesome thing happen? I am blessed to have had parents who saw God working in everything they did! I am blessed to have parents who saw God everywhere they went. They knew without a shadow of a doubt that God loved them, and they loved Him. However, we are not all that lucky. Some of us didn't grow up with parents who pointed out all the ways God was helping out their family. Yet, even people who didn't grow up learning about the faith can still believe in God. My friend Catherine didn't grow up learning about the Lord, and yet He found her right when she needed Him most. God is good like that. He will come and chase us down and reveal Himself to us when He knows we will be open to it. I am sure God reveals Himself to us more than once, and He keeps revealing Himself to us until we are ready to see Him.I think we are able to love Him even though we can't see Him because we can see His work in our lives. We can believe in Him even though we can't see Him because we can see all He has done in our lives, all He has done for us. If you look throughout your life for places where the Lord has been, I know you will find them. Now that my friend knows Jesus, she can see where He showed up for her all throughout her life. She didn't know it was Him at the time, but now she can look back and see that He was there. I think this is why we can love Him, even though we haven't seen Him. We have seen Him. We just didn't realize it was Him.I also love this verse because it says, "You believe in him and are filled with an inexpressible and glorious joy.” Have you felt this inexpressible and glorious joy? I have, and it is amazing. I had heard people talk about the Joy of the Lord before when I was younger, and I am not sure I knew what that meant. However, now I know. It is this joy that wells up inside of you when you think about Him. It is this joy you feel, even in the middle of some really difficult times. It's not a happiness. You are not happy you are in the circumstance you are in, but you are joyful because you know God will take care of you while you are in it. It is unlike any other feeling I have ever felt. It is a joy that you can't explain to others.I know someone who lost their husband suddenly. She said throughout the grieving process, she knew the Lord was with her. She said she had some moments of pure joy over the last 9 months. However, she said she could not share them with people because they wouldn't understand and would judge her for having joy while she was grieving. It wasn't that she was happy her husband was gone. She missed him very much. It was a joy of the Lord that she was feeling. God allowed her to feel joy in His presence, and it was a magical feeling. The verse ends with, “For you are receiving the end result of your faith, the salvation of your souls.” Part of the reason for this joy that we feel is because we know that when we believe, the result will be the salvation of our souls. If that isn't something to be joyful about, then I don't know what is. The thought that we get to spend eternity with the Lord definitely brings me joy.Dear Heavenly Father, I ask you to bless all those listening to the episode today. Lord, we thank you for loving us. We thank you for helping us to believe even when we can't see you. We thank you for all the ways you show up in our lives, even when we don't realize it is you. You are so good to us. Thank you for the joy you fill us with. Lord, if there is anyone listening to this who has not felt this joy, I ask that you fill them up with it today. Lord, we love you, and we ask all this in accordance with your will and in Jesus's holy name. Amen.Thank you so much for joining me on this journey to walk boldly with Jesus. The Trinitarian, mystical, joy-filled, supernatural good news, the mass exodus from the Christian institutional experiment we call 'church,' what 'mission' looks like for us in the 21st century with a non-toxic gospel, and the supernatural reality of living in union with the Father, Son, and Spirit, in this conversation, Paul and the guys dive into inclusion, evangelism, the creative spirit, the prophetic, the flow of compassion, and the wonder of hope. QUOTES “Religious people talk about hell; spiritual people have been there.” Wm Paul Young “The more we see him, the more we become like Him.” “At its heart, our faith has a mystical and mysterious axis that can only be experienced and encountered, it can't be intellectualized. Even though there's value in intellectual pursuits, it's always secondary.” “What happens when we take inclusion seriously?” “I'm an evangelist at heart. I used to think I was bringing Jesus to people. Now I understand, actually, Jesus is already there…” “If it's not inexpressible glorious joy, you have a gospel problem.” “The power of heaven is not based on control. The government of heaven is not based on law. And the warfare of heaven is not based on violence.” For more on Paul Golf Website: www.championsofhope.co.uk To learn more about Derek and Jason or to sign up for the mailing list, go to www.afamilystory.org Please rate, review, share, and subscribe! This week's edition of In the Studio with Michael Card gives you an opportunity to meet new friends and learn about the people who have shaped Michael's teaching and music. We'll start the hour with a conversation with Dr. John Long who was one of Michael's professors at Western Kentucky University. We'll hear why the book “Inexpressible” is dedicated to him. In our commentary segment Michael gives broad overview of the word hessed as it is used in the Old Testament, by Jesus, Paul and how it shaped the modern Jewish faith. Then in the second half we'll meet Olivier Melnick from Chosen People Ministries. You won't want to miss a spirited conversation about the rise of antisemitism, reaching out to Jewish friends and the story of how Michael and Olivier met at the Wailing Wall. The discussions will challenge your thinking and the music will stir your soul as we seek to follow Christ in a confusing world. Enjoy and share this hour together, In The Studio with Michael Card.
