Bettering My Mental Health

How do you deal with your mental health? Do you bottle up your trauma? Do you give it to Jesus? Do you regress into a child-like attitude and pout? I was listening to the podcast “Look on the Bright Side” by Jenell B. Stewart and she had a guest Denise Francis, Founder of the Self-Love Foundation. On this podcast they talked about dealing and healing from traumatic experiences. It made me think of my mental health and the mental health of the people around me. It made me think of how I can stay balanced in an unbalanced world. I think of all the ways I would deal with depression when I was younger. I would cry and pull the covers over my head. I would stop eating or I would eat too much. One point in my life I would journal in my diary. Later I learned to turn to Jesus when I received him in my life. Even after receiving him, the devil tried harder to pull me back in. He would try to talk to my mind, mess with my confidence, and make the circumstances around me work against me. What I learned is that even-though the situation does not change, the Lord gives us ways to deal, heal, and cope. The devil will try to take your mind if you are not watchful. He will constantly throw fiery darts at you. He will try through your mind, he will try you physically, he will try through your friends and family. He will even try through your surrounding circumstances. We have to learn to trust in Jesus in all our circumstances. But how is this bettering my mental health?....... I am glad you asked. When we turn to our Savior he can give us solutions. Solutions are not always what we expect. Maybe the solution is journaling or talking to a pastor, counselor, or therapist. Maybe the solution is to let whatever we are holding on to, go. Maybe our solution is just a good ole cry and then pick ourselves up again; and say “get behind me satan”. Whatever the solution is, we know we need to start with the solution holder, Jesus. Ephesians 6:17-18a “And take the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God: 18praying always with all prayer and supplication in the Spirit,” Philippians 4:6 KJV “Be careful for nothing; but in every thing by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known unto God.” AMP “Do not be anxious or worried about anything, but in everything [every circumstance and situation] by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, continue to make your [specific] requests known to God.” So to Better your mental health let's first start with Jesus (the author and finisher of our faith). Let Him point you in the right direction. Let's take a walk with Jesus! I love you! My goal is to have youth feeling uplifted and inspired after you listen to each episode.Hello. Hello. Hello. Welcome to episode 31 hey y'all. It's your girl Jenell B Stewart. I know it's been a minute. My last podcast episode was January 2nd and that episode I talked about, I did like a recap of 2018 and then I shared with you like my impossible goal of becoming a millionaire and what I plan to do and what not. And I've been away for a while. You know, working on my school. That's part of the goal to become a millionaire is to grow my school and have my school develop and become something that will help to support my community, my community of women. Um, if this is your first episode that you've ever heard of me of mine, then um, let me just take one second to tell you that I am the founder of the digital content creation school and I started this school in December of 2018 as a way to help content creators that are coming up. Like I did get the support that they need and get the tools because content creation is a field that many people create on their own. We're not necessarily going to college for it, we're not getting degrees in it, but we typically are self taught and I wanted to help speed up that process of elevation for my members by giving them the tools that they need to figure it out.:Whether you're doing a blog, whether you're doing a youtube channel, a podcast, or selling online materials like an ebook or a course. I wanted to make sure that my community had those tools and I knew that they wanted it because they were asking me for it. So I already had that available to me to know like there is a need. And so I just aim to deliver and I have a very giving spirit as you guys know. So creating this new business venture Support the show (https://www.patreon.com/JenellBStewart)

Jenell starts most of her projects from a space of innovation and creativity. She constantly looks to what is missing for her next task. She started Kinky Curly Coily Me because she didn't see information online for black women about natural hair and the journey to going natural. After growing as a woman, becoming married, having children, and wanting to share all of her other passions besides hair and beauty - she started her Jenell B. Stewart brand. Now she's branched out into podcasting, video production, her daughter's brand, and more to come. As a mom - she gets the babies in line with her schedule - not the other way around. She knew she was going to be a working mom, so she found a way to seamlessly incorporate the children into her life. And by doing this, she allows her children to embrace their independence and frees up some time for her to get things done. Jenell's Bio: Jenell is an award winning beauty editor, a wife and mom of 2, a youtuber, podcaster and social media maven. When she's not writing, editing, and filming YT videos--she's either playing with her kids, working out, eating in some restaurant, or traveling the world with her family.   [bctt tweet="Anyone is an influencer who has a great knowledge base in a field and you can talk about something, I want you to be encouraged. - Jenell B.
