Sarah roped Susie into watching Love is Blind and now they have to talk about it (even though Susie is mad about it). We discuss the particular hellscape that is a reality tv reunion and the trauma it provides. We discuss why bangs are never the answer and you should never get a tattoo when you're in the throes of life's worst moments. Sarah talks about Belle Gibson who became a successful influencer, cookbook author, and lifestyle blogger based on a lie that she had terminal cancer she was treating homeopathically. We find out why young people aren't getting romantically involved and debate whether that's a bad or good thing. And we hear why reality tv causes insecurity in men and women in different ways. Plus, Susie explains what a "bed party" is and why people are spending lots of money for an instagram picture celebrating their kid going to college.Listen to more podcasts like this: https://wavepodcastnetwork.comJoin our Candy Club, shop our merch, sign-up for our free newsletter, & more by visiting The Brain Candy Podcast website: https://www.thebraincandypodcast.comConnect with us on social media:BCP Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/braincandypodcastSusie's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/susiemeisterSarah's Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/imsarahriceBCP on X: https://www.x.com/braincandypodSponsors:Get 20% OFF by going to https://www.honeylove.com/braincandy! #honeylovepodGet up to 35% off PLUS 2 free gifts using code BRAINCANDY at https://shopbeam.com/BRAINCANDYSee Privacy Policy at https://art19.com/privacy and California Privacy Notice at https://art19.com/privacy#do-not-sell-my-info.

With her unique and powerful guiding voice, she helps women fully embrace who God calls them to be including: How to overcome the challenges of balancing work, life, and family The importance of living strategically and spontaneously How mental, physical, and soul self-care honors God Why happiness is a temporary state of being and the key to finding lasting joy regardless of the life season “It's up to you to own and embrace the wonderful complexities of who God made you to be. Remember, you are a masterpiece,” writes Scaggs. “Fall in love with the idea of seeing your life as a beautiful mosaic, lovingly and intentionally crafted. It honors the masterpiece composed of disparate experiences, pain, tears, laughter, and victory all brought together to make something meaningful.” Filled with motivational callouts, practical takeaways, and actionable steps Worth it and Wonderful invites readers to apply the insight shared to their own lives. “Remember, nothing of significance is easy or comes quickly,” declares Scaggs. “This type of work can challenge deep-rooted beliefs—some of which you may realize are lies that took root a long time ago, but as your identity and purpose become rooted in who God says you are, I'm trusting that all areas of your life will start to transform with vibrancy. In her 22 years in corporate life, Melissa Therrien has heard a similar story from so many women in business: they're successful, but they rarely feel alive. They're often moms and caregivers, and their jobs likely involve serving others, as well. Often their work requires a lot of analytical and strategic thinking. So in these roles of relentlessly serving other people, over time, they tend to give so much of themselves away to other people that they begin to lose pieces of themselves. They're disconnected in body, mind, and soul. And here's another part of the stories that Melissa knows, both from talking to other women and from her own personal experience: they often have creative interests that light them up deep inside ... but they have no time, no space, and no energy to dive into these passions. Melissa is a mom and executive who loves writing, painting, and creating beauty around her. She found that the more she allowed herself to spend time with the activities that brought her the most joy, the more she wanted to help other women experience the liberating power of nurturing the creative side of themselves, too. And along the way, with the help and support she's gotten inside the Success With Soul Incubator, she's found a path to turning her passion project ideas into an online business. Today she's a creative entrepreneur, lifestyle blogger, and business and personal development coach at Live Each Day. She teaches busy, motivated women to rediscover themselves so they can live the life they truly want. We think you'll appreciate this multi-talented entrepreneur, and it's been a pleasure to work with Melissa inside the Incubator as she's honing and growing her business! What you'll learn in this episode: Melissa's journey from left-brained living to inviting creativity and passion back into her life What inspired her to start her own business The biggest risk she took in starting Live Each Day (and how Kate helped her through) Why she decided to join the Incubator How her business has changed in the last year, and what she's working on in 2023 Subscribe, Review + Connect Thanks so much for listening in this week! Yes, you can make six figures from niche blogging, if you know what you're doing. If you think of blogs as assets, the goal is to buy low and sell high. I have my friend and blogging expert, Chelsea Clarke on the show to talk about how she does it. Chelsea currently owns six niche websites. She buys them, uses different strategies to grow their income, and then sells them. She also teaches others how to do it themselves. This runs counter to many of the bloggers I interview on the show whom either accidentally got into blogging and turned it into a business, or people have been blogging for years and would never think if selling their blogs because they are personal. Niche blogging for profit, with the intention of buying and selling blogs is a whole different business model. In this episode, Chelsea and I discuss: Why you want to pick a niche for your blog Strategies for growing your niche blog Pros and cons of building a site from scratch vs. buying an existing site How much it costs to buy a blog How to buy a blog How to value your own blog And much more! Chelsea opened my eyes to a new way to make serious money from blogging. Hope you enjoy this episode as much as I did. Today, I've got Josh Elledge, from Up My Influence, on the show, and we are talking about how to up your price. What we really talk about is how to value yourself. If you've ever wondered how people sell those high ticket items, like coaching packages, services, products, etc., Josh shares all the secrets. Much of how it's done is by building relationships with the people you want to sell to, then to sell them on the outcome they hope to achieve. Josh also recommends adding a money-back-guarantee to any high ticket offer. He also recommends selling the personal relationship that customers has with you. This is where understanding your own self-worth comes into play. Josh and I also talk about how you must always validate your offer, to make sure it's something people actually want. He shares the steps he uses to validate the high ticket items he sells. For all of us who struggle with imposter syndrome or who feel uncomfortable charging what we really deserve to be paid, this podcast is a must! Now that we are halfway through the episode is this getting the juices flowing? Are you now starting to think about possibly selling a digital product, and if you are starting to think about it, but you're not sure where to begin, I recommend you start with a paid workshop. And if that seems like a lot, and you want to hone in on an idea, I have a worksheet to help you. If you go to milotree.com/workshopidea, you can get my worksheet and really hone in on something specific you could teach to your audience. But here's the best part, you can set this up in MiloTreeCart as a product with a sales page that you can fill out in about 10 minutes. And then you can go test it, put it in front of your people, send it to your email list, see if people are interested in this, see if they buy from you. And if a couple people buy, go build out the workshop, if they don't, go try a new idea. This is how you're going to continue to test with MiloTreeCart. And remember, setting up your products in MiloTree Cart is absolutely free. The way that we monetize is we take a small transaction fee off of sales. So we only make money when you do. This is the perfect platform to test to have fun play around, set up a bunch of stuff. And if you have any questions always know you can reach out to me at jillian@milotree.com. It's Women's History Month, and our guest is the perfect shining light for women. Today's episode is a “Spark in our lives” guest episode where we interview someone who is a spark in our lives. She puts so many good vibes out into the world, but she does so much for women, lifting them up. Our guest this week is mental health advocate, self-care queen, and lifestyle blogger, LaToi Storr, also known as Toi. Let us tell you about LaToi Storr: Toi is a lifestyle blogger, podcaster, and content creator. Her other responsibilities include being a wife and mother of three. As a content creator her stance has always been to talk about mental health, which resonates with us, of course. When she first started her blog 7 years ago, it was after her therapist encouraged her to tell her story and write– as this was her passion. Since then, she has gone on to speak at conferences. She is SheMedia partner- through SheMedia and the BlogHer conferences is how we connected, and we are so thankful we did. Her goals will remain to uplift, encourage, and help other women with her storytelling. She is dedicated to telling the stories even when things don't look glamorous. In her spare time you can find her walking the aisles of Target (with no shame) or at a coffee shop making sure she is getting her self-care time. We are so thankful she took some of her self-care time to chat with us on our podcast. In this episode we chat about: How she got started as a blogger, and opening herself up in a vulnerable way. Her experience with post-partum depression and writing about it to help others. True authenticity and not hiding anything on social media, aka, "the internet streets". The "Self-Care Queen's" recommended easy self-care routine. What motivates Toi to lift others up! Toi's podcast, Conversations with Toi. Toi answers our 10 rapid fire questions, and the most important question, "What does a life well lived mean to you?" Episode resources: You can find Toi Storr here and her podcast here. Yes, Pinterest still drives traffic if you know these things... Consistency Keywords How to optimize static pins I've got Pinterest strategist Amy Ford, from Bloom and Grow Media, on the podcast, to share her cutting-edge Pinterest strategies. At Catch My Party, the first company we built and still run, we get the majority of our traffic from Pinterest, but the platform has definitely changed from it's early days. Now there are so many new features on Pinterest, it can feel overwhelming. In this episode, Amy cuts through the noise, highlighting what you need to know and don't need to know to be successful on the platform as a blogger or creator looking for traffic. I found this episode reassuring and enlightening, and hopefully you will too. My major takeaway from the episode is not to write off Pinterest so fast. If you know how to use it, it can still drive substantial traffic for you. Show Notes: MiloTree Easy Payments EMAIL CHALLENGE: Set Up a Paid Workshop in 5 Days! In this episode, we have Robyn Pineault. Robyn is a Vancouver Island Health & Lifestyle Blogger, Host of The Alpha Female Podcast, Author of Love Lost, Life Found, an Essential Oil Educator with dōTERRA and the founder of Autoimmune Thriving. She started her blog (robynbaldwin.com) in 2009 when she became a fitness competitor and model. At the time, she thought she was super healthy. She had subscribed to the notion of work/life balance and managed to fit everything in, but in reality, was running herself into the ground. A few years later in 2014, she was diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis. After her diagnosis, Robyn realized she could take care of herself differently. She could eat in a way that serves her really well, decrease inflammation in her body, supplement for macro & micro-nutrients that she's lacking, get quality and quantity of sleep, learn to de-stress from her “busy” schedule and reduce the toxic load on her body. She embarked on a fitness, health and life journey that led her to the person she is today. Today's guest is Allie Mason Hoffberg. Allie is the founder of The Health Mason, a wellness and lifestyle blog and Instagram account. She launched her platform with the initial intention of sharing about nutrition and her favorite healthy recipes. Over the years however, her message has evolved to encompass all areas of what wellness means to her: both mental and physical health as well as lifestyle tips and clean beauty products. Given that managing her anxiety was such an important part of her personal life, she felt called to share her journey. Her message naturally shifted to include this crucial topic.
