What an episode!! We were buzzing that our diaries aligned and we could record this epic episode with power couple Clare & Emma!Clare gives us an insight into life as a Hyrox Race Director, Master Trainer, Coach, Athlete and more... it's fair to say she's juggling a lot of plates but is so passionate about this sport and it really shows. It was lovely to learn more about her background, her own training experiences and what the future holds. Emma is the running queen, she is a specific running coach, mainly marathon distance and has done a fair few herself!! As well as running marathons Emma has also completed 24hrs of burpees... yes you heard that right! We talk all about this and about mindset.... if you take anything away from this episode it should be Emmas positive self talk, you will for sure by hyped and ready to hit your next hard session or PB your race after listening to this one - thank you Emma, we all need you on our shoulder when the doubts set in!! Clare and Emma combined have a wealth of knowledge and experience in different areas, they compliment each other and lean on each other - they really are the dream team and it was a joy to spend an hour chatting to them. We could've talked for hours but our diaries only managed to align for an hour, we therefore didn't get round to asking the cheeky insight questions but Clare kindly sent us through some answers as we thought you would still all love to know!! Thanks guys!! See below :) To get lots of Hyrox & Running tips give the girls a follow @clare-rafferty_ & @emmakirkyoIf you enjoyed this episode then give the show a follow and leave us a cheeky review :) You can also follow us on instagram @rad_chix_ to get updates on our next guests and all things Hyrox!Cheeky Insights from Clare Rafferty :1. What shoes do you wear to race Hyrox? Puma Nitro or Adidas Adizero2. Which is your favourite Hyrox venue? I'm obsessed with Glasgow. But I do have Grand Palais soon and I feel that will be the one! Also Navy Pier is gonna be insane!3. What is your favourite Hyrox station? Honestly - the run (haha) I wouldn' t choose any of them! But if I had to pick then maybe the sled push. I like the feeling of 'I can't feel my legs'. I can tell you I hate the ski and the lunges - I have to work so hard for them!4. If you could do a doubles with anyone in the world who would you choose? Emma (GF Points)5. Do you fuel for Hyrox and if so what do you use and when do you take it? Day before the race - any race - we have pasta, it's a bit of a ritual. Then race day, depending on time, keep it simple and have carbs only. If it's later in the day I'll have protein in the AM or even at lunch. As a rule of thumb, 2hrs before CARBS, then in the warm up a gel. Then more for mental than anything some sugar sweets in doubles or if I'm really gunning for it a gel again after the burpees in solo. It's more mental for me tbh than nutritional gains.6. What is your favourite type of training session for Hyrox? I like a long slog. Anything that gets your HR up and you just keep moving then I'm in! It's the short sharp all out ones I struggle with! Thank you!!

My guest for this episode is Nancy Zintsmaster, who is co-founder and master trainer in The Carolyn Resnick Method Liberty Horsemanship. I'm going to start this introduction with a question: What would your life – and leadership - look like if you were able to partner with others using connection and harmony rather than control, force or fear? That is the core question Nan and I explored in this conversation. We got into the deep corners of what it looks like to create connection in a disconnected world, both with humans and with horses. In this conversation, we got into the implications for self-awareness, learning how to be congruent within ourselves, how to give up control, and what it takes to get back in touch with our natural humanity. Imagine dancing with the others in your life through connection and harmony. More about Nancy: Co-Founder, Certified Instructor, and Master Trainer in The Carolyn Resnick Method Liberty Horsemanship. Nancy Zintsmaster embodies the transformational power of The Carolyn Resnick Method. A lifelong horse enthusiast, her love for these magnificent animals began in childhood, but it wasn't until she discovered Carolyn Resnick's book, Naked Liberty, that she realized the profound connection possible between humans and horses. Her journey took a pivotal turn in Costa Rica, where she rescued seven horses in dire conditions. Committed to earning their trust and respect, she embraced Carolyn's liberty training approach. What started as a rescue mission evolved into a deeply personal transformation, revealing that these sentient beings had as much to teach her as she had to teach them. Nancy's path eventually led her to Carolyn Resnick herself, forging a life-changing partnership. Carolyn recognized Nancy's natural gift with horses and her passion for The Resnick Method. This collaboration solidified Nancy's role as one of its most dedicated advocates. Today, as a Master Trainer, Nancy is committed to sharing The Resnick Method with horse lovers worldwide. She teaches this compassionate and effective communication style to promote better relationships between humans and horses, ensuring both receive mutual rewards. Nancy resides at her ranch, Dance with Horses—The Resnick Method's Costa Rica location—perched atop a mountain with breathtaking views of Lake Arenal and the Arenal Volcano. There, she continues her mission to inspire others through her work with horses. I had the good fortune to be in a clinic with Nan the last September. Watching her work with horses at liberty is a sight to behold. If you are interested in her clinics, she has several clinics scheduled both in Costa Rica and in the states next year. The one I'm most interested in is the one being held down the road from me at REIN Rescue, where I'm on the board of directors. Dates for that clinic are July 22-24, 2025. I hope you enjoy this conversation with Nancy Zintsmaster.

While I no longer work in the treatment room, I'm an aesthetician at heart, and when I attended a recent DermaConcepts event in the DMV area, I had the pleasure of sitting in on one of Toni Lee Roldan-Ortiz's presentations focused on the unique science of Vitamin A delivery that DermaConcepts delivers through their Environ line. I gleaned a ton of new insights during that presentation, and since Addo Aesthetics is a strategic partner with DermaConcepts, I knew I had to have Toni Lee on the show. Toni Lee has over 30 years in the beauty industry where she began as a television and celebrity makeup artist, and with time, followed her passion into skincare and became a licensed esthetician who also holds certifications in paramedical camouflage makeup, Pastiche Advanced Skin Analysis, and Oncology Aesthetics. With extensive experience at a prominent plastic surgery office in New York where she helped grow the practice, train the team, and create treatment protocols as well as build sales as their lead aesthetician, Toni Lee eventually shifted into her current role as a National Master Trainer and Sales Manager for DermaConcepts, the exclusive distributor of Environ Skin Care in the USA, where she trains physicians, nurses and estheticians on the leading science and skincare that Environ delivers. In this episode, we discuss: The importance of Vitamin A for everyone and many skin conditions The science behind how DermaConcepts is delivering Vitamin A in their Environ products Why lipid forms of Vitamin A are more beneficial to achieving best results for our client regardless of skin condition or season To read the full show notes for this episode, visit: https://www.addoaesthetics.com/blog/391 Keep the conversation going inside the Spa Marketing Made Easy Community by clicking here.
