A Mesmer Mother's Day Special Episode of Open Loops with Greg's Hypnosis/NLP Trainer, Dr. Yvonne Oswald! And since BetterHelp and Talkspace probably aren't sliding into Greg's inbox for a sponsorship anytime soon: “No More Therapists!” indeed. Let's be precise here: this is a pro-mental-health conversation that moves far beyond conventional ideas of psychotherapy. Dr. Yvonne Oswald has spent over 30 years in clinical sessions, trainings, and live demonstrations helping people move through deep trauma, emotional chaos, limiting beliefs, and inner disarray toward peace, power, and freedom in their own minds. She just knows how to do it fast. After a lifetime of teaching hypnosis, NLP, language mastery, emotional release, and mind technology, while continuing to refine and create new methods, Dr. Yvonne has put her work into her new book, No More Therapists: Your Brain Has The Answer, where she teaches readers how to clear negative emotions in minutes, rather than spend years circling the same pain. Greg had the chance to study with her in Niagara Falls, Canada, inside her healing house during her Hypnosis Master Training and Every Word Has Power live coaching experience. Years later, he still considers her breakdown of Mind Magic, emotional release, submodalities, high-vibration language, and unconscious reprogramming some of the clearest, most lucid, and most practical material ever explored on Open Loops. Which says a lot, considering this show has also covered how to have a five-minute conversation with Bigfoot that borders on flirtatious. This episode is different. You will learn. You will shift. You may even experience one of the techniques working on you while you listen. In this unique episode, you'll discover: -Why your brain may already have the answer before your conscious mind knows how to ask the question. -How Dr. Yvonne's Mind Magic process uses breath, gaze, anchoring, and language to interrupt emotional patterns rapidly. -Why “negative emotions” may be less like permanent wounds and more like mislabeled files waiting to be cleared. -How low-energy words can quietly program stress, limitation, and emotional contraction into the nervous system. -Why changing one word can alter the direction of your unconscious “GPS.” -What most hypnotists miss about emotional neutrality, and why neutral may be the real doorway before joy, peace, or manifestation. -How Dr. Yvonne blends grounded NLP structure with spiritual healing, source connection, and higher-consciousness work without losing practical precision. Listen if you're interested in hypnosis, NLP, trauma healing, manifestation, emotional release, language patterns, mind technology, or the strange possibility that your brain has been waiting for better instruction (ie. Is your parts department the most neglected, underappreciated, and misunderstood department in your dealership? In this episode, we sit down with Brian Crossin, an instructor at NADA Academy who brings over two decades of fixed operations and parts management experience to the table. Brian explains why dealerships routinely hand over half a million dollars in inventory capital to their parts teams without providing the formal sales and financial education needed to maximize that investment. In this episode, we cover: The Sales Mindset: Why the biggest blind spot for dealers is failing to treat the parts department like a true sales department capable of generating service appointments and vehicle sales. The Phone Call Problem: How mystery shops reveal a severe lack of sales training on the parts counter, despite staff fielding 50 to 100 phone calls per person, per day. Crucial Metrics: Why tracking "Investment Quality" and the all-important "First-Time Fill Rate" matters far more than just monitoring obsolescence. Technology & AI: The importance of fully utilizing your current DMS, and how artificial intelligence and machine learning are poised to revolutionize inventory management. Customer Experience: Why the ultimate rule of fixed ops is to "not make the customer work"—and how to eliminate friction points like bouncing customers back and forth for simple repair quotes. Navigating Tariffs: Why the parts department's existing systems are already well-equipped to handle the cost fluctuations brought on by international trade tensions. Whether you're looking to launch a nationwide e-commerce strategy or just want to master the mundane basics of customer experience, this episode is packed with practical insights to elevate your fixed operations. About VADA: The Virginia Automobile Dealers Association (VADA) represents franchised new car and truck dealers in the Commonwealth of Virginia. Brian currently facilitates Fixed Operations 1—Parts Department.
This episode of The UK Flooring Podcast sits down with Gary Hosey, leadership coach and EQ-i Master Trainer, for a straight, practical chat about emotional intelligence, and why it matters more in flooring than most people realise.Because whether you're a one-person band or running a team of 20, the job is still people. Customers with expectations. Staff with personalities. Pressure, stress, and those awkward conversations you keep putting off until they blow up. Gary breaks emotional intelligence down into the real-world stuff that actually helps: how you communicate, how you handle stress, how you make decisions, and how you build trust without turning into a pushover. One of the biggest takeaways is simple but brutal: if you want better outcomes, you need better conversations. Gary explains why “being interested, not interesting” changes sales chats, customer trust, and how your team responds to you. What You'll Learn in This Episode:What emotional intelligence actually means, and the five key areas that sit underneath it (self-awareness, self-expression, interpersonal skills, decision-making, and stress management). Why trust is the real foundation of repeat work, and how to build it without giving everything away for free.A simple shift that improves customer conversations fast: ask better questions, find out what matters, then deliver that experience. The difference between leading 5 people and leading 20, and why “doing it all yourself” stops scaling being possible. Why feedback gets avoided, how it piles up, and how to make it normal before it turns into conflict. How to develop supervisors and key people around you so leadership is shared, not chaotic.Memorable Quote:“Be interested, not interesting.”Speaker InformationGary HoseyLeadership Coach and EQ-i Master Trainerhttps://www.garyhosey.com/LinkedIn: https://uk.linkedin.com/in/garyhoseyWhere to Find The UK Flooring Podcast:Website: https://theukflooringpodcast.co.uk/Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/theukflooringpodcast/Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/theukflooringpodcast/Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/59DLhGPVKNtVoS656EYtxqApple Podcasts: https://podcasts.apple.com/gb/podcast/the-uk-flooring-podcast/id1606720642 Hosted on Acast. Send us a textIn this Fusion Hack, Allyson Spungin and Drew Brannon break down the truth behind junk volume—one of the most misunderstood concepts in resistance training. They explain how proper volume is built through intentional working sets, why warm-ups, feeders, and back-off sets are not counted as true volume, and how progressive overload should be tracked over time without ego-driven weight jumps. This episode clarifies how volume must be individualized based on athlete experience, biofeedback, readiness, and training phase, while dispelling the myth that weight must increase every week to see progress. You'll also learn how accessory work supports growth, when higher-rep volume is appropriate, and how to manage rest intervals to maximize performance and recovery.Allyson Spungin is the Director of Training, Programming, and Educational Development for Fitbody Fusion and a Master Trainer with more than a decade of hands-on experience. Based in Scottsdale, AZ and originally from Connecticut, she launched her fitness career in New York City in 2014 and has since built a reputation for science-backed coaching that elevates both general-population clients and athletes. With 12 years of experience as a certified personal trainer and nutrition coach, Allyson specializes in strength training and personalized nutrition strategies across a wide range of needs, including pre/post natal, fat and weight loss, and performance programming for endurance and weightlifting athletes. Her background includes managing gyms, leading personal training and group fitness departments, and running her own hybrid in-person and online coaching business. A national-level NPC Bikini competitor and long-time Fitbody Fusion athlete, she's preparing for another run on the national stage in 2026. 348: Holiday Rewind: 4 Ways to Advance Your Nonprofit LeadershipWhat are you doing - intentionally - to move closer to your nonprofit leadership goals? In this Holiday Rewind of solo episode #159, Patton revisits four practical, evergreen ways nonprofit leaders can reflect, refocus, and move forward in their leadership journey. Whether you're early in your career, preparing for your next step, or refining your impact as a senior leader, these four elements provide a simple framework for year-end reflection and year-ahead momentum.Special thanks to our friends from TowneBank and Armstrong McGuire for supporting this podcast on its way to 350 Episodes next month! The Four Elements1. Sharpen Your Vision Framework. Clarity fuels progress. Revisit where you want to be in three to five years and define the kind of leader you want to become, not just the title you want to hold. A clear vision helps you evaluate opportunities, say no with confidence, and align daily work with long-term goals.2. Practice Self-Assessment. Growth starts with honest reflection. Regularly assess your strengths, skill gaps, leadership style, and readiness for greater responsibility. Seek feedback, reflect on recent experiences, and use that insight to guide your development priorities. There were 10 Skills back in Episode #159, but the Mastermind Program now features 12!3. Utilize Strategic Networking. Relationships don't happen by accident. Be intentional about building a diverse network of peers, mentors, and sponsors who can challenge your thinking, open doors, and support your growth. Strategic networking is about mutual value, not transactions.4. Curate Knowledge. You don't need to know everything, but you do need to keep learning. Be selective about the books, podcasts, conferences, and conversations that shape your thinking. Curated learning keeps you relevant, reflective, and ready for what's next.About PattonPatton McDowell is a nonprofit leadership coach, consultant, author, and podcast host with more than 30 years of experience helping leaders and organizations thrive. Greg Stephens is the President of Choice Consulting and a seasoned communication expert, executive coach, and corporate trainer. With over 25 years of experience across tech, healthcare, and sports, Greg specializes in the "human" side of business: leadership development, conflict resolution, and high-stakes communication.A certified behavior analyst and Master Trainer in Crucial Conversations, Greg has empowered thousands of professionals to turn ordinary interactions into extraordinary results.SHOW SUMMARYIn this episode of the Selling from the Heart Podcast, Larry Levine and Darrell Amy are joined by Greg Stephens to explore how sales professionals and leaders can restore even the most challenging or “impossible” relationships. Greg shares powerful insights on authenticity, mindset, and communication—highlighting how self-limiting beliefs often stand in the way of trust and progress. The conversation dives into practical strategies for setting clear agreements, defining mutual respect, and creating psychological safety in client and team relationships. Through real-world examples and role-playing, Greg demonstrates how intentional communication can transform conflict into collaboration and rebuild trust where it feels lost.KEY TAKEAWAYSAuthenticity as a Foundation: Sustainable sales success is impossible without an authentic connection and a baseline of mutual respect.Mindset Over Circumstance: Most "impossible" relationships are actually limited by our own internal beliefs—change your narrative to change the outcome.Define Respect Early: Success lies in establishing clear agreements and understanding exactly what "respect" means to your client. The Information Gap: Open and honest communication about expectations is vital; without information, people create "worst-case" stories that lead to downward spirals.Radical Accountability: You cannot control another person, but you have 100% control over your attitude, your actions, and how you show up.HIGHLIGHT QUOTESEveryone wants to buy, no one wants to be sold.If I don't have your best in mind, it's going to come across as me trying to get something for myself.People have to have psychological safety in the conversation—mutual purpose and mutual respect. In the absence of information, we make it up and we make up the worst story we can.

Episode Summary: Should the gospel transform African cultures, or are they perfect just the way they are? The gospel goes beyond “getting to heaven”; it has power to reshape societies. Pastor Dennis Desire of Beacon Life Church in Nairobi joins us to contrast cultural relativism with cultural reformation. We explore how a biblical worldview confronts animism in Africa and secularism in the West, while also recognizing and celebrating the beauty in each culture. Salvation is just the beginning of a lifelong journey of Kingdom discipleship that renews minds, dignifies work and relationships, and redeems culture. From job readiness and small business training to addiction recovery and early childhood education, Dennis shares real stories of transformation in Kenya, where churches equip believers not just for Sunday but for Monday and beyond. We unpack what it means to redeem culture without erasing it—honoring Africa's communal strength and worship while learning from the West's systems and structures. The goal isn't uniformity, but unity in diversity under Christ. If you want to see faith shape everyday life and society, this episode will sharpen your vision for discipling nations.#KingdomDiscipleship #CulturalReformation #FaithInAction #BiblicalWorldview #AfricanChurch Who is Disciple Nations Alliance (DNA)? Since 1997, DNA's mission has been to equip followers of Jesus around the globe with a biblical worldview, empowering them to build flourishing families, communities, and nations.
