If you’ve been following me for a while, you know how I’m all about living your values. In 2020, at the time of publishing this episode, with it being an election year, and also one that will go down as one of the most significant years in history, people are more socially conscious than ever, and we are voting with our dollars for the world we want to live in. Which is why I am so excited to pull this previously unreleased episode from the archives, where I spoke with Kathleen Ventura about this very topic. Kathleen Ventura is a conscious branding consultant, sustainability manager and TEDx speaker. She is a passionate environmentalist, feminist and advocate for plant-based eating. Kathleen supports leaders and businesses who understand that adopting a triple bottom line and showcasing social responsibility and sustainability as core components of their brand is what is going to give them a competitive edge and elevate their impact. She is on a mission to equip and inspire all personal brands to become conscious entrepreneurs, and has a vision for leaders mobilizing an entire generation into action to solve current global challenges. We recorded this conversation in 2018 but I think it’s even more applicable today.
While many followed the KonMari (Marie Kondo Method) buzz, started outlining a fitness plan, and made new goals for the year, the objective to live a life of purpose was there. But how many fall off the bandwagon? Kathleen Ventura, an entrepreneur, and intentional living expert speaks with me on what it means to live a value aligned lifestyle. In Episode #83 on The Jen Mavros Show we sit down with a dear sister, socially conscious, TEDx speaker, Kathleen Ventura. "I truly believe that if more people were awake making intentional choices, actively participating in creating a lifestyle in alignment with their own values and priorities, that it would change the world. If we had everyone living a life full of things, people, events, jobs, health that they truly wanted we'd live in a much different world." Kathleen is a passionate environmentalist, feminist and advocate for plant-based eating. Making a move that would terrify even the bravest of non-conformists, she quit her high-pressure sales job in 2012, sold everything, and set out to ride her bike across the United States. As a sought-after high-performance coach, Kathleen has been featured in Business Insider, SUCCESS, and Inspired Coach Magazine. She is a contributor to the Huffington Post, Conscious Company Magazine, and Conscious Magazine. She gave a TEDx talk in 2015 about the importance of actively participating in creating lifestyles in alignment with one's own values as the key to freedom. When she isn't coordinating collection pickup for Sedona Compost or coaching ambitious, accomplished women entrepreneurs, you can find her in her dream kitchen making creative vegan food and sharing it on her Instagram story. A eye-opening, solution-seeking episode that might just rocks yo' socks!! I hope you loved it as much as I did!

Want to stand out in your crowded coaching market? To make yourself a one-of-a-kind coach so your dream clients won’t settle for anyone else? Take my FREE 5-day Stand Out Challenge, starts Mar 19th, 2018! Sign up adriadecorte.com/challenge. Last week, I had an impromptu phone chat (don’t you love those?) with my dear friend and past podcast guest, Kathleen Ventura, who also happens to be an incredible life coach. We celebrated that she had filled nine of the ten spots in her new group program in just three days. You know why she was able to do that so easily? High-touch relationships she’s built over the years - that’s her superpower. In fact, many of her clients often purchase high-level packages from her over and over again. Kathleen is a one-of-a-kind coach who has built what I like to call a Stand Out business. She was flattered, grateful, and relieved that she was able to enroll her program that way. And that’s what I want for you, too. How would it feel if your ideal clients wanted YOU and wouldn't settle for anyone else? (Total relief, right?!) In today’s episode, I’m giving you my 4-part formula for how to do just that so you can stand out in a crowded coaching market. Warmth, Adria P.S. I’ve noticed three super-common marketing mistakes that cost coaches clients, and that’s what I’ll be diving into next week. Subscribe to the podcast so you don’t miss it!

When Kathleen Ventura felt the heart-tug to pivot her niche, she had a moment of brand identity crisis. Her old niche: helping people start businesses. Her new one: helping more advanced entrepreneurs build conscious brands. For anyone else this might have been daunting - she had already built up a sizeable audience, Facebook group, and list around the old niche and target market. Would she have to start over building this new evolution of her brand? Where would her new clients come from? Having been through this when I pivoted from Feed Your Hustle to Unforgettable, boy do I GET it. But because Kathleen had built the previous incarnation of her business around real relationships, she didn’t have to build from scratch finding clients, nor did she have to rely on time-intensive launches. Listen to my interview with Kathleen to find out how you can make money in your business by the genuine connections you nurture rather than big, flashy launches. (Warning… you’ll probably fall in love with Kathleen like I did - she’s a super-fun, bubbly person who is all about living intentionally.) If you’re feeling the pull to pivot your niche but are stuck, I’m here to support. Sign up for a Get Clarity Call. In today's episode, you'll learn: Why she knew it was time to pivot her niche and her best advice for others going through a brand identity crisis How she creates offerings her people want to pay for Where she got clients without starting from scratch when she pivoted her niche What she’s learned about growing your business from real online relationships and creating Facebook groups that lead to clients Links from the Episode http://kathleenventura.com/ Kathleen’s podcast: Beyond Business Warmth, Adria P.S. Next episode I’ll help you bust through the fear of charging money for your work so you can raise your rates and charge what you’re worth.

My client, Holly Shaw, is a FABULOUS coach, and when she had the honor to speak in front of 120 actors at SAG in LA and ended up booking 46 discovery calls, she was stoked. But when only four of those 46 calls turned into paying clients, mostly one-off sessions, she began to suspect there must be a weak link in her discovery call process. We hopped on a call to diagnose where she was losing these clients, and discovered that when it came time to give people her prices and tell them about her package, her energy dropped and she felt kinda sale-shy and apologetic. Um, can you relate? So we did a Message Breakthrough dedicated to fine-tuning this specific piece of her discovery call process, and lo and behold... The very next day she landed a VIP client and sold a $1997 package with total ease using what we worked on. Listen to this week’s episode of Unforgettable to hear EXACTLY what we shifted and the language Holly used to “paint the picture” that led to these immediate results. Announcements: What’s your biggest struggle with leading discovery calls? Do you hesitate to name your price? Do you avoid the offer? Head over to the free Unforgettable Facebook group and let me know what you find most difficult when you’re leading a sales call. Make sure to tag me so I can see it, too. :) Feeling like your communication might be blocking clients from saying yes? Warmth, Adria P.S. Next episode you’ll hear all about how my guest Kathleen Ventura has built a profitable business and smoothly pivoted into a new niche through building real relationships rather than relying on time-intensive launches.

Kathleen Ventura is a lifestyle coach for high driving women entrepreneurs and professionals. For years, she’s helped women design lives and businesses they love by helping them get clear about their values and creating from there. During this intense and passionate interview, Kathleen and I have a conversation about how you can get out of the mindless hustle of growing your business and make sure you’re growing intentionally. What does that mean? It means getting quiet with yourself and asking yourself two very important questions...WHAT do I really want and WHY is that important to me? Having the courage to answer these questions for yourself will help you see what your dream life - and your dream business - can truly be! We also discuss the new evolution of personal branding...the power of taking those values and beliefs and injecting them INTO your business in a way that feels good for you. This could mean something as mild as stating the WHY you offer the products and services you do (because I want women to have the FREEDOM to live lives they love!) or as “extreme” as stating your belief about a social issue and bleeding it into your branding. Either way, we discuss why doing this in a way that feels good for you is ultimately a big win for you!
