The message was delivered on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at All Souls Unitarian Church in Tulsa, Oklahoma, by Rev. Randy Lewis, Assistant Minister. DESCRIPTION If you could whisper one truth to your younger self, what would it be? Would you tell them how to avoid heartbreak, or remind them they were always enough? In a world rewriting reality faster than we can keep up, how do we stay grounded without giving in to fear? History shows us that even unfinished work matters. Maybe the real time machine we need isn't a DeLorean, but the kind that brings us fully alive, here and now. What if your best body, clearest mind, and strongest sense of purpose were still ahead of you? That's the question I explore in this episode with Richard Rosenfeld, MD, MPH, MBA. He's a board-certified ENT, Director of Guidelines and Quality at the American College of Lifestyle Medicine, and one of the most published ENT researchers in the world—with nearly 400 peer-reviewed articles to his name. But what really sets Rich apart is his personal story. In his mid-50s, he hit a turning point—and decided to change course. He adopted a whole food, plant-based lifestyle. Picked up strength training again after decades off. Started running. Now, in his 60s, he's finished 10 marathons, lifts consistently, and says he feels sharper and more alive than ever. In This Episode, We Dive Into: What sparked Rich's midlife transformation How he fuels, trains, and recovers today Strength training after 50 and the role of protein and creatine His honest take on GLP-1 meds (like Wegovy and Zepbound) for weight loss And how mindset, curiosity, and purpose fuel long-term change We also talk about the culture of medicine—and what it'll take to build a system that actually supports health, not just disease management. This conversation is full of science-backed insight and lived experience. And it's a story that reminds you what's possible—no matter your starting point. Live well and RAK ON, Dr. Rak

Fire has long been a revered force,  respected for its ceremonial holding, practical contribution to feeding, sterilising, warming, lighting and yarning around. These days though, few of us interact with fire regularly despite it connecting us to our ancestors and gently reminding us of what it means to be human.  Off the back of tragic circumstances when he was just 16, todays guest Cade Mcconnell, intentionally side stepped the drug fuelled, party filled scene that often lures late teens early 20 year men and instead went in search of what it meant to be a man. He found instead, ceremonial fires, yoga, men's circles, his feelings and what it means to operate in an intentional and sacred way. He's built his life around this way of being and in todays conversation we scratch below the mere mention of things like vision quests and sacred weddings and really unpack what it is to move through the world like this. For Cade - much of this begins with food, where it was grown it, how its prepared, who shares it and he says that by giving himself the git of making food intentional, it has rewritten his story and the rhythm of his life.As a retreat caterer, who uses claypots for his cooking Cade says this way of preparing food is fundamentally about being in relationship with plants, clay and fire which is also the name of his book. His mission is to bring a little earth into every kitchen.Support the ShowCasual Support - Buy Me A CoffeeRegular Support - PatreonBuy the Book - Futuresteading - live like tomorrow matters, Huddle - creating a tomorrow of togethernessPod Partners Rock: Australian Medicinal Herbs We talked about:Rites of passage for young menClaypot cookingCreating more ceremony in our lifeHolding our loved ones to accountGiving ourselves permission to take the time needed to create nourishing, love filled foodMens circles and how they impact our living patternsBuilding sacred communitiesThe impact of suicideThe value of counselling pre marriageWhy its important to build a strong foundation of trust and love for yourself before you offer this to another in marriageSupport the show

In this episode of the Creative Genius podcast, I interview Rebe Huntman about her debut memoir, "My Mother in Havana, a memoir of magic and miracle." Rebe shares her personal story of losing her mother at a young age and the subsequent decades of feeling disconnected from her memory. Driven by a deep longing and intuition, Rebe embarked on a 30-day DIY pilgrimage to Cuba to seek a different perspective on grief and connection. The conversation delves into how Rebe's background as a Latin dancer led her to discover the spiritual roots of Cuban dances and the traditions of honoring the deceased.  Rebe recounts her experiences immersing herself in rituals dedicated to the goddess Oshun, visiting the sanctuary of Cuba's patron saint, and meeting with a spiritist who she hoped would connect her with her mother.Rebe and I discuss the importance of intuition and following one's unique path, even when it doesn't seem logical. We also explore the disconnect in Western culture from ancestral connections, magic, and meaningful rituals, contrasting it with the Cuban traditions of keeping the dead close. The conversation touches on the challenges of staying creative and connected to one's inner voice in the face of overwhelming global issues and personal fears. Rebe shares her belief in creativity as a portal and emphasizes the importance of honouring inner longings and choosing to champion humanity. She also shares her personal rituals for grounding and connecting with her intuition and ancestors, offering practical advice for listeners seeking to do the same. Ultimately, Rebe's story is a powerful reminder of the resilience of the human spirit, the wisdom of intuition, and the potential for magic and miracle in our lives, even in the darkest of times.

Recently, I was planning my dream retreat in Italy when something felt…off. My mind was buzzing with excitement, but my heart kept whispering: Conserve your energy. Focus on what you came here to do.   It wasn't easy to let go of the planning and ideas swirling in my head. It was like a devil on one shoulder and an angel on the next. I kept second guessing my inner wisdom and answers. Those old failiar sabotaging patterns are hard to beat, aren't they?! But when I paused and connected with my higher self (for the fourth time), the answer became crystal clear: My soul's calling right now is to focus on completing my book by summer. Everything else can wait.   This practice of Dharana—pulling away from distractions and focusing on what truly matters—has been a game changer for me.   So, I invite you to reflect: What is your soul calling you to focus on? What distractions do you need to let go of to honor that calling?   Take a moment to pause and listen to your heart.   For more on this practice, tune in to this week's episode of Mindful Pause Podcast. Together, we'll explore how to align with your soul's purpose and release what's holding you back.   With love, Audrey   P.S. On this week's Thursday Thoughts, Lucy & I are talking about living intentionally.Being intentional means cultivating awareness of how you're living and how you're showing up in the world. Without this awareness, it's easy to slip into autopilot, letting life pass us by without feeling like we're the ones in control. But when you choose to live with intention, you become conscious of where you're directing your thoughts and your energy. You become more present, making deliberate choices that align with your values and goals, and you reclaim control of how you respond to life's daily challenges. We hope you'll find something useful in here!Love,Polly & Lucy xTo find out more about my membership The Inner Space go to: https://www.pollywarren.com/theinnerspaceTo book a FREE 15 minute discovery call with me go to: https://calendly.com/pollywarrencoaching/15minEmail me at: info@pollywarren.comhttps://www.pollywarren.com/https://www.instagram.com/pollywarrencoaching/
