After buying a beat-up car with evil intentions, a socially awkward boy's nature begins to change, matching it.Christine is a fun horror novel adaptation from Stephen King, directed by John Carpenter. While it doesn't have an all-star cast, Carpenter creates a fun environment where the characters are fleshed out and work off the killer well, which happens to be a car. While the movie can be ridiculous at times, it's enjoyable, the kills are great, and is entertaining all the way to the end. HAPPY HALLOWEEEEN! We're halfway through our Car Season and it's finally time for us to review a movie that STARS a car, Christine (1983)! The GBGBs have also invited their friend Trevor as a guest reviewer to help us digest this wild adaptation of a Stephen King classic. This movie is directed by John Carpenter and features a KILLER CAR that begins to possess the mind and spirit of an unwitting nerdy teenager named Arnie. As the story progresses, Arnie transforms in to a cool and mysterious weirdo who begins to freak out his friends. Can they stop this strange car it consumes them all? Find out in our review of Christine! Or ya know, maybe watch the movie first? Idk who are we to say. Thanks for stopping by!
It's time to get behind the wheel with two Masters of Horror and one of the biggest baddies ever produced from Detroit, MI! That's right, we're talking JOHN CARPENTER'S CHRISTINE with critic and Critically Acclaimed Network podcaster, William Bibbiani!! It's a pedal to the metal show as we go deep on Christine's insane opening weekend competition in 1983, Stephen King's embrace and eventual rejection of nostalgia, and how Christine is a vehicle for so many different interpretations!! We hope you're ready to go for a trip because this extended conversation includes discussion of how oversexed the movie's characters are, the horrors of friendship, dirty back braces, rejecting Kelly Preston, Uncle Steve's Greaser Bullies, casting Killdeer, and learning the lessons of Shaking Hands With Danger!! All this, plus a revved-up edition of Choose Your Own Deathventure, and we fondly remember Jim Henson's Eraserhead Babies!! Take the trip with us today, people!! NOTE: We support SAG-AFTRA in their fight for worker's rights! Until further notice, we will not cover current films in theaters or new movies dropping on streaming networks. Sometimes all it takes for the nerdy guy to become the cool guy is a killer car. Get it? A KILLER CAR?? What we're trying to say here is that John Carpenter's adaption of Stephen King's book CHRISTINE (1980) is about a murderous automobile. While relatively bloodless (in true King adaption fashion), this one rules and is arguably one of the best big screen King movies as well as a damn fine entry into Carpenter's filmography. This week we talk about great conservative men who have choked on small bite size foodstuffs, and also the Wander Woman, both episodes, and then there's a lot of poor chosely, and update on the progress on the tiny knob museum. Then there's a lot of joy thievery articles including a horrible kiosk skull crushing. ALSO there's a charming story about the terrible composer Philip Glass and how Twitter is stupid and ruins it. Then there's a PSA for the people and we talk about gay Captain America and what he would be a hundred years ago. Then there's some roundabout chicanery and el Sooper defends self-absorbed selfies (again) and revitalizing Instagram hipsters, also we have fanmail that it not really fanmail. Yay. The we stole content from Buzzfeed because we hate that they steal content from twitter. Wait. Anyway ENJOY your somewhat-weekly hit of wisdom and knowledge wow!!
