Un tunnel souterrain à Bath, en Angleterre, que 37 coureurs sillonnent en allers-retours pendant 55 heures maximum. Une course taillée pour remettre l'ultra endurance à l'essentiel — ou pour briser ceux qui osent s'y aventurer.Grégory, 43 ans, manager bancaire en région parisienne et père de trois filles, n'est pas un professionnel de la course à pied. Il a démarré le running en poussant sa fille Marie — qui vit avec une malformation congénitale — dans un fauteuil sur le semi de Paris. Ce jour-là, quelque chose s'est allumé. Depuis, il enchaîne les trails, les ultras, la Diagonale des Fous — et cherche toujours un peu plus loin la ligne où le confort disparaît.L'Ultra Tunnel, il l'a trouvé par hasard sur un site anglais. Pas de vidéo aguicheuse, pas de communication tapageuse. Juste un descriptif minimaliste et l'image d'un tunnel qui avale tout. Immédiatement aspiré.Dans cet épisode, il raconte la préparation d'un an bâtie sur l'assiduité et l'ingéniosité — courir pour aller au travail, simuler les boucles dans son garage, jongler entre performance et vie de famille. Puis l'imprévu qui change tout : un TFL qui se réveille trois semaines avant le départ, une infiltration en urgence, et l'épée de Damoclès au-dessus de la tête au moment de traverser la Manche.Ce que Grégory n'avait pas anticipé, c'est ce qu'il a ressenti une fois à l'intérieur. Il pensait trouver l'enfer. Il a trouvé quelque chose d'étrange — presque une paix. Assis contre les parois du tunnel, dans le froid et le noir, il les a trouvées chaudes. Il dit qu'il n'a jamais eu d'idées noires là-dedans.Grégory parle de course à pied comme il parle de ses filles : avec une tendresse qui ne cherche pas à épater. Although this movie may struggle with pacing, the grainy aspects of the footage captured combined with the family trauma create such a haunting vibe that really stays with the viewer. The ghost of a former resident begins to haunt a mother and daughter in their New York City apartment building just as the two recently moved to the area and are in the midst of a custody battle.Haunted Water month rolls on as we discuss Dark Water, the remake of the 2002 Japanese ghost story, starring Jennifer Connelly and John C. Reilly. This movie has a lot going in including the challenges a mother and daughter experience in a custody battle compiled with their new apartment having a constant water leak, which is the work of a ghost. As far as atmosphere goes, this is a very mood film which plays well with the psychological impact the family, especially the mother, experiences while trying to raise a child at the conclusion of a sour relationship. The ghost story cycles a theme of abandonment and neglect which culminates into a twist we didn't see coming, but feels mixed at best. Although very well acted, this ghost story at times feels dull and doesn't fully bring everything together at the climax. Fils d'un enfant français ayant fui l'Algérie en 1961 à l'âge de 13 ans, Grégory Dargent, né seize ans plus tard, questionne, dans Soleil d'Hiver, les raisons qui l'ont peut-être conduit à choisir le oud, il y a plus de vingt ans, pour créer sa musique, fragmentée, explosive et virtuose. Cette errance commence face à la perte, au deuil et à l'exil, pour se transformer progressivement en une quête initiatique. Entre 2024 et 2025, celle-ci le mènera de l'Algérie à l'Égypte, en passant par le Liban et l'Irak. The Losers Club bands together to fight a shape-shifting entity that disguises itself primarily as a clown and feeds on children in the summer of 1989 in Derry, Maine. It, based off the classic Stephen King novel, depicts half of the story, focusing on the kids as they fight Pennywise who is feasting on children in Derry, Maine. This film fits perfectly into the Kids Aren't Alright month as the kids in Derry are going missing and the Losers Club discovers Pennywise is hungry for their fear. The kids in this rendition of the story portray the characters well and we believe the portion of the story where the kids fight Pennywise is the better half of the story vs when the adults come back to Derry in the future. Bill Skarsgard's performance and re-brand of the infamous Pennywise was amazing and as good as the iconic Tim Curry performance from the 1990 TV mini series. A small town undergoes a mysterious event where several women give birth to odd alien children who look like humans.The third week of the Kids Aren't Alright month brings in Village of the Damned for us to discuss. The 1995 John Carpenter remake of the 1960 movie stars Christopher Reeve and Kirstie Alley, and although it has a very interesting premise, doesn't deliver on the setup. While the movie is well acted, the second and third acts leave a lot to be desired with plotlines either going nowhere or being disappointing. However, there are some very interesting kills as these kids have mind control abilities forcing the parents and townspeople to die in bizarre ways.
