Well, episode 97 is really a continuation of episode 96, and I even thought about calling it episode 96.5, but WHATEVER EVERYBODY WE ARE SO CLOSE TO 100 AND I WILL TAKE EVERY NUMBER I CAN GET. Therefore comma I am embracing episode NINETY-SEVEN with everything I have. SO, here's what's happening this go 'round. Melanie and I continue our discussion of every day favorites (makeup remover! K-cups! and other exciting items!). Then our oh-so-funny friend Jamie Golden jumps in with some serious, life-giving wisdom about shopping at Sephora. And I know I mentioned this last week, but I'll mention it again: Jamie co-hosts The Popcast and The Bible Binge with Knox McCoy. She is one of the funniest people alive at this present time in American history and basically Melanie and I would listen to her read the phone book for infinity. Even better, though, is that talking to me makes Jamie's Southern accent way more pronounced, and that has blessed my actual heart every time I've listened. And I've listened a lot because for some reason this episode took me eleventy thousand hours to edit. I hope you feel that it was worth it. :-) Enjoy, y'all! Here's where you can get more info on the stuff / products / places we mention: Cheeky Maiden Complexion Facial Soap Sephora makeup remover Hummingbird Farms (their skincare line isn't out yet - but it's going to be FANTASTIC) Pickwick Tobacco, Leather and Woods candle Voluspa Goji Tarocco Orange Capri Blue Volcano candle Fresh Balsam candle Newman’s Own Medium Roast K-cups Tazo Chai Tea Latte Amazon Prime L'oreal Lash Paradise L’oreal Telescopic Waze app Notability Hanacure All-in-One Facial Makeup Addiction on Reddit Sunday Riley at Sephora Cold Plasma by Perricone Fresh Sugar The Popcast The Bible Binge The Popcast Live Show in Birmingham (Sophie will be there) The Popcast Live Show in Dallas (Melanie will be there) Closing Song Thanks to our sponsors: KIND Snack Club and swap.com.

We’re really getting into the spirits of the season…it’s the Holiday Cocktail Episode of the Home Hour! This episode is a beginner’s guide to mixing drinks and a look into how festive seasonal cocktails can help make your holiday merry and bright! Join hosts Kirsten and Graham we chat with the amazing Hannah Chamberlain of Spirited LA about all things cocktails. This episode is full of fantastic tips from Hannah on how handcrafting cocktails can be a fun and creative addition to your entertaining. She shares some great tips about what makes an amazing drink, how to jazz up some traditional holiday favorites, and where to begin if you’ve never stepped behind a bar before. And, just in case you enjoyed your cocktails a little too much, Hannah also reveals some tried and true hangover cures from LA’s best bartenders. We also tried a delicious holiday drink created by Hannah herself! “Blitzen Sour” (A Christmas-y version of a Whiskey Sour) 1.5 oz bourbon .75 oz rosemary syrup (I’ll give you instructions on this!) .75 oz strained lemon juice .5 oz ginger liqueur (Domaine de Canton or King’s Ginger are both good!) (Add all of the above to a shaker 3/4 full of ice, shake for 20 seconds and strain into a glass) Garnish with a sprig of rosemary and a few cranberries To make the rosemary syrup: Bring one cup of water to a boil and gradually stir in one cup of sugar, reduce to a slow simmer. Add one package of fresh rosemary sprigs (minus one piece for a garnish), and then allow to simmer for 15-20 minutes (taste it from time to time to check that the flavor has come through). When you’ve reached the desired flavor, strain out the rosemary sprigs and allow the syrup to cool to room temperature before using. Store the remainder is a glass container in the fridge (it will be good for 5-7 days).
