WEEK 9 | READY WITH RIGHT PRIORITIESFight Ready Series | Pastor Craig TurnbullBannockburn ChurchIn the final week of the Fight Ready series, Pastor Craig Turnbull closes our study of 1 Timothy with a powerful message titled “Ready with Right Priorities” (1 Timothy 6:17–21). As Paul ends his letter to Timothy, he reminds believers that spiritual maturity means learning to place our hope, treasure, truth, and confidence in the right places—and above all, in the grace of God.This message challenges us to examine where our priorities truly lie. Are they shaped by the world or by God's Word? Wealth, success, and comfort promise security but can never provide it. Only a heart anchored in Christ will find unshakable joy, lasting purpose, and eternal value.Key Takeaways:- Have the Right Hope: Don't place your trust in uncertain riches—trust the God who richly provides.- Have the Right Treasure: True wealth isn't measured in money but in generosity, good works, and eternal investment.- Have the Right Truth: Guard the truth of the gospel and reject false teaching.- Lay Hold of Grace: Everything we have and do flows from God's grace—our strength, wisdom, and salvation. As Pastor Craig reminds us, “Wealth, time, and opportunity are gifts meant to be stewarded, not hoarded.” The Christian life is not about accumulation but transformation—living for what truly lasts and holding fast to the grace that sustains us.Related Scriptures:1 Timothy 6:17–212 Corinthians 8:9Matthew 6:19–21Ephesians 2:8–9Hebrews 13:5This final message is both a challenge and an encouragement—to reorient our hearts toward what is eternal and to finish the race well, fighting the good fight of faith with right priorities and renewed grace.Need prayer? In this message, Pastor Mark reminds us that despite life's challenges and doubts, God's promises remain unchanging. He emphasizes that our faith is nourished and sustained by His Word, urging us to hold fast to the assurance that God is always faithful—delivering on His covenant, nurturing us like a well-tended harvest, and guiding our every step. Pastor Mark challenges us to trust in God's unwavering truth, to sow in faith, and to experience the transformative power of a life built on His faithfulness.
SHOW NOTES: In Podcast Episode 310, “Courage to Lay Hold of Your Calling,” Kim discusses the calling the Lord had placed on Elisha. When Elijah was taken up to heaven, Elisha “picked up Elijah's cloak,” which was symbolic of his laying hold of the Lord's calling. What is your calling? Have you laid hold of it or are you trying to avoid the entire idea of it? Our focal passage for this episode is 2 Kings 2:13-18 with 13 as the focal verse: 13 Elisha picked up Elijah's cloak, which had fallen when he was taken up. Then Elisha returned to the bank of the Jordan River. WEEKLY ENGAGEMENT FEATURE: Have you ever asked the Lord to clarify His call for your life? May today be the day. Additional Resources and Scriptures: 19 So Elijah went and found Elisha son of Shaphat plowing a field. There were twelve teams of oxen in the field, and Elisha was plowing with the twelfth team. Elijah went over to him and threw his cloak across his shoulders and then walked away. 20 Elisha left the oxen standing there, ran after Elijah, and said to him, “First let me go and kiss my father and mother good-bye, and then I will go with you!” Elijah replied, “Go on back, but think about what I have done to you.” 21 So Elisha returned to his oxen and slaughtered them. He used the wood from the plow to build a fire to roast their flesh. He passed around the meat to the townspeople, and they all ate. Then he went with Elijah as his assistant.(1 Kings 19:19-21) 12 I don't mean to say that I have already achieved these things or that I have already reached perfection. But I press on to possess that perfection for which Christ Jesus first possessed me. Daniel 3: 16-18 16 Shadrach, Meshach, and Abed-Nego answered and said to the king, “O Nebuchadnezzar, we have no need to answer you in this matter. 17 If that is the case, our God whom we serve is able to deliver us from the burning fiery furnace, and He will deliver us from your hand, O king. 18 But if not, let it be known to you, O king, that we do not serve your gods, nor will we worship the gold image which you have set up.”

What is important to you in your daily life? Listen to this message to understand that gaining knowledge about Christ and being strengthened by the Holy Spirit are the things that should matter. Hear the importance of reading your Bible continuously to gain this knowledge and learn about three conclusions the Apostle Paul reached in this area.
Our eternal life is a non-refundable gift from God. It cannot be taken away and praise God we cannot do something to lose it. And Paul directs the young preacher Timothy to lay hold on the eternal life God has given him. If we can lay hold on it, then it is possible to not …

Have you thought about gifts lately? What about spiritual gifts? Our Heavenly Father longs for us to develop our spiritual gifts and to bless us with more. But have you thought to ask Him? What are spiritual gifts? Why have we been commanded to seek after and pray for them? In our conversation today we discuss a simple insight which promises “that If any of us are imperfect, pray for the gift that will make us perfect”. We share the hope that every defect in the human character can be corrected through the exercise of faith and pleading with the Lord for the gifts that He has said He will give unto those who believe and obey His commandments. --- Send in a voice message: https://podcasters.spotify.com/pod/show/underhiswings/message
