Making Wise Decisions by Word Mission Church International
The Bible is full of truth about the importance of controlling our minds. In this sermon, Dr. Stanley shares biblical truth found in Colossians 3 about how our tendencies to think as unbelievers change when we become believers. Christ gives us renewed thoughts, and the Bible to guide us towards thinking like Christ—with Godly and positive thoughts. Jaggy and I thank you for tuning in and SHARING!
How do we make good decisions? Every day, we answer questions over what we ought to do, yet only sometimes is right and wrong clear. What do we do when things aren’t clear? The apostle Paul helps the Corinthians to answer this question by teaching them how to reflect and deliberate on what is true and good.
In this podcast, Dr. Walker delves into the critical art of making wise decisions as a leader. We'll explore how to assess alternatives thoroughly, ensuring that every possible option is carefully evaluated. We'll discuss the importance of consulting counsel, drawing from the collective wisdom of mentors and advisors, and the necessity of gathering grit to make those tough, sometimes unpopular, decisions. The conversation will highlight the need to prioritize purpose, ensuring that every choice aligns with your organization's core mission. We'll also emphasize the power of engaging empathy, considering the broader impact of decisions on your team and community. Finally, we'll talk about the value of reflecting regularly on past decisions to foster continuous learning and the importance of trusting timing—knowing when to act and when to wait for the right moment. This episode is packed with practical insights to help leaders navigate the complexities of decision-making with wisdom and integrity.

Discerning God's Will: Making Wise Decisions - Brock Bingaman by All Saints Community Church
I know we've talked about the heart brain connection before. But I want to talk about the gut brain connection. There's some research out that came out a few years ago, talking about how important the gut was in connecting with a truth of what's going on around us. In other words, our gut kind of knows when things are right or wrong, or when things aren't going the way that they should be going. Or when things are going really well. I mean, no, there's that gut. This, you wish this hadn't happened, or there's this butterfly, that you are excited about what's happening. That's because our gut is our most mammalian brain type of connection, it connects with the deepest part of who we are. So learning how to pay attention to your gut reaction can make a big difference in how often you are right or wrong about decisions that you're making. You are so cognitive, we think so much in our current world, that we just use our brains all the time to figure things out, when in reality, our bodies know a lot more about what's happening than we do. That's because our bodies are connecting with that energy in the world instead of us thinking about it. And again, if we're just thinking about it, we're missing out on some great wisdom that helped us stay alive for all these years. So I have an idea for you. How about if we do something that might make it a little bit easier to listen to our gut, I heard this the other day. And I love this idea is called six breaths. What that mean? It means is if if you take six really deep breaths, and breathe in through your nose and out through your mouth, really deep pan, and then and then out six of them, and then listen to your gut, you're more likely to truly hear what's happening on the inside of you. And whatever the first thought is that you have really pay attention to whether it's the right one or not. And I tell you, I'm pretty sure most generally your gut is going to be right. When you're taking these deep breaths, what you're actually doing is you're suspending your thinking and connecting with your body and then listening to your gut. So again, if you want to make really wise decisions, if there's something that you need to make a decision about, try this. Take six really deep breaths in through your nose out through your mouth, and then listen to your gut and the first words that come to your brain are probably accurate. I love you.
