Just like old times, it feels like it's the Canucks vs the World again in the NHL Playoffs as the Canucks don't have much popular support to win the series. Matt and Blake take a look at the reaction around the league and what it'll need to look like for the Canucks to win the series. Also, the guys get the latest from practice as there was a notable player missing, with just one day left before Game 1. Former Canuck Mason Raymond stops by to walk down memory lane and talk about playing playoff hockey in Vancouver. He speaks about the entrance music, the pressure, and adrenaline of playoff hockey and about the matchup vs the Oilers. Frank Corrado jumps in for his weekly visit as well, and gets into the X's and O's of this series and how it will differ from Nashville. Frank deals with the PP, the struggle to contain McDavid, and the need for Pettersson to step up. The Daily Faceoff's Jason Gregor also joins the guys from Edmonton before the Oilers leave for Vancouver, and breaks down the opposition, with a look at the lines, the special teams, and the surprisingly rare opportunity for these two teams to face other in the playoffs. The bye-week nonsense is here and while all the NHL players are down in Mexico drinking on fancy watercraft, we're stuck without any games! P Mac, Geeta and Ryan join you this week to discuss Jason Spezza being a healthy scratch. The latest in the motivational tactics given to rookies this season, with Brent Seabrook being a healthy scratch this month in Chicago. They discuss the bye-weeks in the NHL, as the Canucks are now on theirs after knocking off Columbus and Minnesota in impressive fashion. As the team gets healthier, could these rare and unusual wins become a more common occurrence? They take a look at the nobodies and former Vancouver Canucks sprinkled throughout the Canadian Olympic Men's Ice Hockey team, from Mason Raymond to old Willie D himself! They also discuss Nikolay Goldobin being sent down to Utica. Is he being sent down just to keep the legs fresh? Or has he lost his roll on the team? They discuss the latest player wanting out of Arizona, Anthony Duclair. He heads to Chicago at a bargain price as the problems continue for the Coyotes. How much longer will they last in Arizona, where they're constantly taking one step forward and three steps back. Finally, they discuss Vegas' home ice advantage, Geeta plays F.M.K and the gang decides to buy some naming rights of defunct NHL teams. Enjoy! The Anaheim Ducks have gone winless in their first three games(0-2-1). Coach Randy Carlyle has tried different lineups this past week in order to try to get a winning combination. The roster is constantly changing in Anaheim. This past week forwards Joseph Cramarossa and Mason Raymond were both placed on waivers. The Ducks claimed Emerson Etem off waivers from Vancouver and finally re-signed Rickard Rakell. Defensively, Simon Despres was injured in the season opener causing Carlyle to shuffle defensive pairings in the last two games. Summer's here and the time is right, For dancing in the streets! Ryan, Geeta Dave and P Mac talk about the big blockbuster trades. Taylor Hall for Adam Larsson in what they all argue is a lopsided deal. Shea Weber for PK Subban in the least sensical trade in recent memory. They try to figure how and why these trades happened and why PK Subban could have rubbed management and players the wrong way. They also look at Loui Eriksson's new deal with the Vancouver Canucks. What it means for their development, their 2016/17 season and their chances for making the playoffs. They also ask one another just who the most overrated NHL player is a and share some predictions on Mason Raymond's season with his new team, the Anaheim Ducks and ask how many NHL games Thatcher Demko will play for the Canucks in 2016/17.
