All over Europe and other areas we celebrate May Day, Beltane, Walpurgis night, whatever you call it it's all about fire, coming together, and making babies! Or new life, shall we say, new beginnings. First spring has sprung. So we dive into some celebrations and traditions from Bavaria, Germany, Scandinavia, which mostly call it Walpurgis night or some variation, and celebrate a Saint, a She-saint in fact! Then we get into Beltane, the Celtic pagan holy day, and have some fun, fire and feasts with Goddesses and Green Men. On the night of August 21, 1955, the Sutton and Taylor families in rural Kentucky reported being besieged for hours by small, strange humanoid figures with glowing eyes. Their vivid accounts, gunfire on the property, and the rush of law enforcement turned the incident into one of the most famous and debated UFO encounters. Theories range from extraterrestrials and mass hysteria to misidentified wildlife such as great horned owls, but no conclusive explanation has been found, leaving the Kelly–Hopkinsville case a lasting mystery.

"The Eighth Green Man" is a weird tale by the Cornish author, Gladys Trenery, writing as G. G. Pendarves. First appearing in Weird Tales in its March 1928 edition, the story was described as follows: "An uncanny horror befell the guests of the innkeeper when the Green Men held their revels."

History remembers him as the Father of the Country… but history also forgets to mention the glowing orb that gave him tactical advice in the woods, or the ghost stories that still linger in his bedroom like a powdered-wig hangover. I return after a three week hiatus with my the narrative of my experience at the Madrid Airport of the recent electric grid failure, which allowed me the chance to explore the abundant wonders that abound around the Plaza de España area. As I walked with my eyes wide open, I met face to face, with Green Men and Women, adorning the magnificent plazas built centuries ago. He remains eloquent, as well as his consorts, Green Women I also found. They all had plenty to say about our mounting man-made disasters and failures. They reminded me to continue voicing his messages and the fascinating stories about their historical evolution and periodical appearances in ever-novel disguises as humanity's paths and our storytelling natures evoke his presence in transformative manifestations, which include contemporary efforts to awaken our Green conscience.

In 1994 a UFO was spotted by numerous people calling into the Liberty Township's 911 call center. Roy Ann Rudolph was the dispatcher on duty that evening taking most of these calls. Roy Ann was also taking response calls from all the law enforcement officers on duty through out the county. Numerous county patrol cars were responding and chasing these things from Ohio into Pennsylvania. Over ten different departments.Five years later in 1999, this incident went national with Art Bell's Coast to Coast radio program. A co-worker of mine in 1994 working the midnight shift, came into work and announced that he just seen a UFO flying over route 193 in Liberty Township. The craft was traveling about 25 mph and then came to a complete stop between a 4 lane highway. Approximately 30 feet off the ground and 50 yards wide with beautiful lights on it. It sat there about a minute and then just zipped up and complete out of site in a second. We treated Bob, my co-worker, like he was crazy. The same response that Roy Ann treated the call ins.I am honored that Roy Ann came on my show to talk about her experience that night. I through some tough questions at her that she answered honestly. The main question is still unanswered. WHAT WAS IT? WAS THERE A COVER UP? A few of my concerns are:1. The FAA couldn't see it where he was sitting 70 feet up in the air, yet officers near by can see it from the ground.2. Friends of mine in law enforcement said they were told it was a weather balloon.3. TV and Newspaper journalists and TV reporters were there and yet nothing, NOTHING, was put in the local newspapers or on the news.4. For the 11th episode of Cultpix Radio WCPX 66.6 we announce that this autumn you will be able to watch Cultpix films in cinemas, we examine the many careers of Mac Ahlberg (aka Bert Torn) and discuss new films from Klubb Super 8, the British Film Institute and Jean-Louis van Belle. Plus no technical issues it seems! Starting on 30 August there will be a monthly series of Cultpix films showing in cinemas in Sweden and abroad, which means you can meet us, fellow Cultpix members and some of the talent behind the films. We will kick off a season of double bills with newly restored versions of Anita - Swedish Nymphet and  Kyrkoherden/The Naughty Vicar at Bio Aspen in Stockholm and four other Swedish cities, as well as in cinemas abroad that we are in discussions with. Exclusive guest will be Christina Lindberg, so book your tickets as soon as they go on sale. We discuss the varied career of Mac Ahlberg, who started out as cinematographer for Swedish and Danish directors, including Bergman. you can see his Kattorna / The Cats (1965) on Cultpix.  He then made his name with the erotic I, A Woman trilogy, as well as nudies such as Fanny Hill (1968) and Around the World With Fanny Hill (1974), as well as the Second Coming of Eva (1974). Four of his more hardcore films (Molly, Flossie, Justine & Juliette and Bel Ami) will be on Cultpix later this year. Ahlberg then moved to Hollywood where he worked his way up from indie films such as Re-Animator and From Beyond  to big productions such as Innocent Blood, Beverly Hills Cop III and Striking Distance, as well as the Michael Jackson video Black and White. He directed two films, of which Hoodlums (1980) can be streamed on Cultpix. Sadly Ahlberg did not seem proud or keen to talk about his Swedish directing career and we debate whether it impacted his later work as DoP. Lots of new films on the site this week, including two from the British Film Institute: Sleepwalker (1984) and Voice Over (1981). We complete the Language of Love series with The XYZ of Love (1971). The first of legendary Swedish director Hans Hatwig's two films is on Cultpix, so watch the horror classic The Bleeder / Blödaren (1983) now and later this year Gröna gubbar från Y.R./Green Men from Outer Space (1986). Finally we have four films from maverick Belgian auteur Jean-Louis van Belle'sstrange, stylish and wonderful movies from the early 70's: Forbidden Paris/Paris Interdit (1970), The Lady Kills/Perverse et docile (1971),  Pervertissima (1972) and The Sadist with Red Teeth/Le sadique aux dents rouges (1971).
