Tim Thomas thinks we've hit “peak tariffs” and sees a “resilient economy,” creating a “very good setup” in the market. However, “we need to see continued progress” on trade, and Tim argues we need deals announced within the next 6 weeks. With long-term strategy in mind, he likes the tech sector and financials.======== Schwab Network ========Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. Send us a textTim Thomas is the man who is passionate about sleep! Tim likes candles to create a space because two people speaking in it brings healing. We shared the story of my cow that Dad had gifted me. I bought a new one and I travel with it. And Tim asked me where I felt this. I showed it to be in my heart. He said it creates balance. As long as it's not like a "Wilson" , per se. (The movie Cast Away). So to sleep. Speaking to how bulimia was a problem for me to have a peaceful sleep. Tim shares that he said he couldn't sleep and they "threw a pharmacy at him". He lost a lot of memories with the pharmaceuticals, and he shares that there is no one who can share how to get off of them.Simple breath work changes your brain work. Not meditation, breath work.He spoke about messing up the enemy's sleep when he was in Afghanistan. "If you want to destroy someone, destroy their sleep. If you care, care about their sleep." Sleep is like the soil of a tree.Tim sits in a place that is just behind all the things you really want - all the energy you ever want.Tim shares that he is two people. The one with a lack of sleep - not so nice, and the other person who gets enough sleep well - nicer, doesn't eat as much, and stronger for investing in "this vessel".Tim is a breath worker. He shares this with others. It is what helps you become stronger and empowered. Tim offers his app to people who struggle with sleeping, which helps with this breath chemical override. He has breathwork at night and breathwork when waking up in the morning.Interesting that I spoke to my anxiety and did not know why. Tim explained that I am high stimuli, so a stand-up desk with a stepper or something to keep me moving would help. Being upright, or on a treadmill, would help with my anxiety. It would help with my anxious energy. So Tim shared the experience of breath with me and my listeners, and I said "I do" three times. I never thought I would say "I do again" after my first marriage. :) But this was worth it. Saying "I do" to my own self three times. I hope my listeners do this exercise. It was very enlightening. We are electrical energy. Hunching over pinches off our nerves and energy supply. This I know and am aware of; however, on a daily basis, I forget, become aware, and forget again. The breath of possibility - hold on to it and bring it on. Turbo buttons are your index and middle fingers pressing against your thumbs and work as a circuit breaker. Breaks the rumination (over thinking) by using this and breath.Breath of Peace is where you need to be in a safe place. You do the same breath techniques, but you wriggle it. Interesting that Tim said our tension is often what we feel supports us. Breath and relaxation with a chair, will allow your support. One thing to change your life and sleep - check this out.And then... Tim shared with us how to find his app and contact him. Here is his email to me to help you find him. :)These links are for immediate and natural sleep improvement; They're my company's online resource called - The ‘Breathwork in Bed' app. The app will guide you to sleep with peace and out of bed with power. Tim Thomas, Trudie Mason, Mark Cullen, John Moore, Tom Mulcair, Dr. Mitch Shulman, Chris Nilan, Chris Bumbray
In 2011, TIM THOMAS put on one of the greatest Stanley Cup goaltending performances in NHL history! He led the Boston Bruins to their 6th Stanley Cup setting the NHL record for most saves during the Stanley Cup playoffs, winning the Conn Smyth Trophy as the 'Most Valuable Player' of the 2011 Stanley Cup in the process. Thomas became the oldest player to win this award. Tim's hockey career to develop into one of the game's greatest goalies is one of perseverance and courage. He did not become a starting NHL Goaltender for the Bruins until he was 31 years old but then went on to play in 4 NHL All Star games, won two Vezina Trophies as the NHL's most outstanding Goaltender and of course, his Stanley Cup and Conn Smyth Trophies in 2011. His playing days came to a close after suffering a life altering concussion and sustaining brain damage that went undiagnosed until after his career ended. As he did as a player, Tim has shown great courage and fortitude in his life after hockey in moving forward with the challenges and effects of this injury. Now living a quiet, peaceful life in Vermont, he does not speak often publicly about his playing days or about his life after hockey, so we are very happy to be able to share his incredible story & memories with you today. (including a great story of his encounter with Alex Ovechkin at the NHL All Star Game) Tim Thomas was a brave, courageous hockey player, and he remains a brave and courageous human being - Enjoy our conversation...!See omnystudio.com/listener for privacy information.

Greetings my friends-it's another weekend and that means another episode of the pod is dropping! This one is a doozy and has echoes of JAWS, but JAWS if friendship, trust and spearfishing were all happening at once (oh, and if the person being attacked survives, of course!) And he does, because Tim Thomas wouldn't be able to be a guest and tell his story unless he lived to tell the tale! Tim is an extraordinary human being-and you'll hear all about it when you listen to the pod-he is an avid supporter of Vets and does much work with multiple organizations to ensure that those who have been in the services are not left behind, are not forgotten and not given short shrift. He endeavors to ensure they have the care and emotional support they need-you can read all about Tim's work here, on his website! He is a big believer in breath work saying, "breathwork improved the quality of his sleep, especially when he was serving with the Special Forces in Afghanistan." As well, you can watch a video of Tim jumping into a giant barrel of water and ice-the cold dipping we talk about in the episode. Take a gander at what Tim is doing and meet another wonderful human making this world a better place! PLEASE DO REMEMBER TO RATE AND REVIEW THE PODCAST-every rating helps others find us! And don't forget the YouTube channel-see my guests IRL and bask in their shiny faces! Your bit of beauty this week is this collection of GORGEOUS sea/ocean photographs-playful and whimsical, devastating and a call to action. WE HAVE TO SAVE OUR OCEANS! Every time I go to the Oregon Coast I pick up garbage on the beach-I figure if I don't then who will? It's a simple act that if 1000's did the same, our beaches and lands would be so much cleaner. This simple act, bending over and picking up one piece of trash, can change everything! xo

fWotD Episode 2826: Dominik Hašek Welcome to Featured Wiki of the Day, your daily dose of knowledge from Wikipedia’s finest articles. The featured article for Wednesday, 29 January 2025 is Dominik Hašek.Dominik Hašek (Czech pronunciation: [ˈdomɪnɪk ˈɦaʃɛk], ; born January 29, 1965) is a Czech former ice hockey goaltender who mostly played for the Buffalo Sabres of the National Hockey League (NHL). Widely regarded as one of the best goaltenders of all time, Hašek also played for the Chicago Blackhawks, Detroit Red Wings, and Ottawa Senators in his 16-season National Hockey League (NHL) career before finishing his career in Europe. While in Buffalo, he became one of the league's finest goaltenders, earning him the nickname "The Dominator". His strong play has been credited with establishing European goaltenders in a league previously dominated by North Americans. He is a two-time Stanley Cup champion, both with the Red Wings, winning his first one as the starting goaltender, and his second one as the backup goaltender.Hašek was one of the league's most successful goaltenders of the 1990s and early 2000s. From 1993 to 2001, he won six Vezina Trophies, the most under the award's current system of voting for the best individual goaltender. In 1998 he won his second consecutive Hart Memorial Trophy, becoming the first goaltender to win the award multiple times. During the 1998 Winter Olympics in Nagano, Japan, he led the Czech national ice hockey team to its first and only Olympic gold medal. The feat made him a popular figure in his home country and prompted hockey legend Wayne Gretzky to call him "the best player in the game". While with the Red Wings in 2002, Hašek became the first European-trained starting goaltender to win the Stanley Cup. In the process, he set a record for shutouts in a postseason year.Hašek was considered an unorthodox goaltender, with a distinct style that labeled him a "flopper". He was best known for his concentration, foot speed, flexibility, and unconventional saves, such as covering the puck with his blocker rather than his trapper. Hašek holds the highest career save percentage of all time (0.9223) and is seventh in goals against average (first in the modern era) (2.202), and the third-highest single-season save percentage (0.9366 in 1998–99). The record was broken by Tim Thomas in the 2010–11 season and again in the 2011–12 season by Brian Elliott, who now holds the record at .940. Hašek is the only goalie to face the most shots per 60 minutes and have the highest save percentage in one season. He did it twice while with the Sabres (1996 and 1998).At the time of his retirement, he was the oldest active goaltender in the NHL at 43, and the second-oldest active player in the league after Red Wings teammate Chris Chelios, who was 46. Hašek announced his retirement on June 9, 2008, but on April 21, 2009, he announced a comeback to professional hockey and signed a contract with HC Pardubice of the Czech Extraliga. On June 7, 2010, he signed with Spartak Moscow of the KHL and played the last season of his career with this team. Hašek announced his retirement on October 9, 2012. Hašek was inducted into the Hockey Hall of Fame on November 17, 2014. He is also a member of the Czech Ice Hockey Hall of Fame and the IIHF Hall of Fame. His number was retired by the Buffalo Sabres (2015) and HC Pardubice (2013). In 2017, he was named one of the '100 Greatest NHL Players' in history. This recording reflects the Wikipedia text as of 00:30 UTC on Wednesday, 29 January 2025.For the full current version of the article, see Dominik Hašek on Wikipedia. This podcast uses content from Wikipedia under the Creative Commons Attribution-ShareAlike License.Visit our archives at wikioftheday.com and subscribe to stay updated on new episodes.Follow us on Mastodon at @wikioftheday@masto.ai.Also check out Curmudgeon's Corner, a current events podcast.Until next time, I'm neural Kimberly.

Tim Thomas says things are “pretty solid” in the economy and is overall bullish. He's looking for expansion in market breadth since a narrow slice of A.I. stocks have been driving the market highs this year. This isn't to say that he's bearish on the Mag 7, but he wants to see broader participation. ======== Schwab Network ======== Empowering every investor and trader, every market day. Tim Thomas joins the show to talk late 90's Sixers, 2001 Bucks and mid-2000's Knicks. He also highlights his rise to the league as the #1 player in the Class of 1996 and his rivalry with Kobe Bryant in high school. We use the “ahead of his time” label pretty lightly these days. But Thomas, at 6'10” with a sweet stroke and guard-like handles was…definitely ahead of his time.Philadelphia was his landing spot in the 1997 Draft, and Thomas joined a squad featuring a young Allen Iverson and Jerry Stackhouse. Thomas dispels the narrative that AI and Stackhouse hated each other and dives deep into his relationship with Larry Brown.Less than two years into his Sixers tenure, Thomas was shipped to Milwaukee, where he'd play alongside Ray Allen, Glenn Robinson and Sam Cassell. The Bucks had the number offense in the league in 2001 and beat Indiana and Charlotte in the playoffs before facing Philly, Thomas' old team, in the Conference Finals. The epic 7-game series came down to the last shot, which Glenn Robinson missed, and Philly advanced. After Milwaukee, Thomas had successful stints with New York and Phoenix. To wrap up the episode, we talk about Tim Thomas Playaz AAU program, which has ushered more than 25 players into the NBA with tens of millions in contract dollars earned.Follow Forgotten Seasons (@forgottenseasonsnba).
