Länger als jeder andere. Er war Teil des Sommermärchens, als wir die WM 2006 in Deutschland austragen durften und uns als fröhliches und weltoffenes Land präsentieren durften. Und er war in Charge, als wir 2014 in Brasilien die WM gewonnen haben. Das ganze Land in Ekstase, Millionen Menschen auf der Fanmeile in Berlin. Aber ja: Er war auch verantwortlich, als die Nationalmannschaft 2018 bei der WM in Russland zum ersten Mal in History überhaupt in der Vorrunde ausscheidet. Und sich dann auch noch bei der Winter-WM in Katar 2022 so blamiert. Wie hat er das alles erlebt? Was braucht es auch für ein Mindset, um damit umzugehen, wenn einen das ganze Land erst liebt und plötzlich so sehr hasst. Darüber habe ich mit Oliver Bierhoff gesprochen. On this episode, the boys are joined by one of the best goaltenders of his generation, Ryan Miller. During one of the best individual hockey seasons in NHL history, Miller won the Vezina as the best NHL goaltender, a silver medal for Team USA, and Olympic MVP in 2010, while amazingly being on the losing side. He won all but 4 games for Buffalo that year, posting a save percentage of 92.9% in a ridiculous 69 games played. We get into his legendary Olympic run, his run-in with Lucic, squaring off at center ice and much more.
