COAST TO COAST SHOW NOTESAuthor, editor, and shamanic explorer Matthew Pallamary has been searching the globe for the truth about reality. In the latter half, he spoke about his latest work looking at how various sciences, disciplines, nature, and ancient wisdom relate to the idea of the Golden Mean (the middle between two extremes). Through his visionary experiences with ayahuasca, he became fascinated by sacred geometry, and eventually realized that the Golden Mean is a model for holographic reality. "Everything is infinitely connected both in the inner world and the outer world," he remarked, and we're all trying to find our way back home, and "for me, home is at the center."Prayer is fueled by intention, he noted, and ideally should be an act of devotion. "In the end, prayer is conscious awareness; and if indeed we are all reflections of each other and we are all seeing the inner god within each one of us," then prayer can be seen as a form of action, he observed. Pallamary also related intention to the work of shamans and how the more they grow in personal power, the more centered they become. When working with intention, it is essential to maintain your integrity, he pointed out.Holographicosmic Man: The Holographic Heart of the Golden Mean

Author, editor, and shamanic explorer http://mattpallamary.com/ (Matthew Pallamary) shared his visionary experiences, and information about psychoactive plants, shamanism, and spirit possession. He described how the ritual of taking the ayahuasca brew in South America likely dates back to primitive times, and that the plant spirits serve as allies or emissaries. When you ingest them, "you literally become the jungle," he remarked, adding that the shaman guiding the ayahuasca trip helps people modulate the energy during the experience and release traumas stored inside the body as a kind of purification. Related to plant allies is the notion of animal spirits, and Pallamary detailed how in the Inca and pre-Inca traditions, the world is represented by three creatures: The upper world – condor (rose-colored/love), the middle world – jaguar (electric blue/power), and the lower world – serpent (gold/wisdom), and "when you get them all working together you'll get an ultraviolet blue," he revealed. In shamanic traditions, the idea of someone being possessed is seen as a lower or darker energy that is driven by repressed trauma. Rather than being considered evil, they believe this state of being is a form of ignorance, he explained.

Author, editor, and shamanic explorer http://www.mattpallamary.com/ (Matthew Pallamary) has been searching the globe for answers on the truth about reality. In the latter half, he discussed his studies of shamanism and visionary experience and working with plant medicines like ayahuasca. Shamans have traditionally offered a bridge between the spirit and physical world, and could be considered the first doctors, healers, psychologists, and teachers, he noted. The root of the word shaman comes from Siberia, and refers to "one who knows." In South America, shamanic practices and working with plants have passed from generation to generation, literally back to prehistoric times, he cited. Pallamary also spoke of a method called "soul retrieval," working with such things as shamanism, visionary states, or hypnotherapy to regain parts of the self that may have broken off during trauma. He detailed some of his transformative experiences taking ayahuasca, a psychoactive plant brew (that includes DMT) considered sacred by Amazon tribes. Over the last 20 years, he's traveled to South America to participate in ayahuasca rituals, in which he learned to confront his deepest fears or the "shadow" buried within him. Through this, he was able to access emotions that had become walled off from him after a tough upbringing in Massachusetts. Just one ounce of the brew creates an intense five-hour trip that can take you to either heaven or hell, he recounted, adding that the volatile substance is certainly not for everyone. Some people, he continued, have incredibly powerful or healing experiences on ayahuasca (such as reliving the birth trauma) that can rewire the brain in a positive way.

Introduction In this episode of Psychedelics Today, host Joe Moore and Kyle Buller interview Matt Pallamary, and have a discussion with him about his writing, research, and ayahuasca experiences. He also shares his concerns about self-proclaimed gurus and some issues that have been emerging because of the popularity of ayahuasca. 3 Key Points: Science fiction writer Ray Bradbury was a mentor of Matt Pallamary. There are pros and cons to ayahuasca shamanism in Peru. The more in touch with the natural world you are the more balanced you are. Show Notes Matt Pallamary was part of the early psychedelics podcast scene. Matt grew up in Dorchester near Boston, and he began early experiences with sniffing glue, weed, and getting acid from a chemist from M.I.T.. He has almost 20 years experience with ayahuasca. Too many people have a couple of ayahuasca experiences and claim to be a guru. Famed science fiction writer Ray Bradbury was a mentor of Matt Pallamary. Everything is energy—the whole universe exists between our eyes. Matt labels shamans as the first storytellers, the first musicians, the first performers, psychologists, psychiatrists, and first performers. Being in touch with the natural world makes a person more balanced. The boundaries between your conscious and subconscious are blurred, overlapping your visions, dreams, and waking life. When going through an ayahuasca experience, you have to be in a safe place where you can be vulnerable and around people you can trust. For ayahuasca experiences, be sure to get references from people that have successfully worked with a group. Guest speakers: Michael Garfield & Matt Pallamary PROGRAM NOTES: Today we only go back in time a short way, back to December 12, 2012 when Matt Pallmary and Michael Garfield took a break during their work on the stage production of Matt's novel, “Land Without Evil”, in Austin, Texas. In this wide ranging discussion between salon favorite, Matt Pallamary, and long time saloner, burner, artist, and musician, Michael Garfield, one of my favorite topics was Michael's very positive take on the long-term impact of the work of Terence McKenna, regardless of the fact that the Timewave theory had obviously been disproven.
