Todays interview is with artist Kate Parnell, Kate is an amazing artist who, with her project Garfieldfrommemory, has found a way to transcend many of the boundaries of both art, and social media, and make a unique connection with people that resonates in a way with folks that is almost hard to describe. She also is co-creator of the Washington DC-based zine, HorseCorn, where she publishes anything related to horses, or corn, in a way that delivers art free from many limitations. I knew Kate growing up here in Richmond, and recently reconnected with her! So I am stoked to be able to share some of the things behind her work, and her personal story, with you! Note: Around 4:40, we discuss an attempted suicide. If folks would like to skip this, jump to around 6 minutes.

Welcome back to the PaynePoints of Interest Podcast with Sarah Harbuck, Megan Harbuck, and guest Yoon Bae. In this episode, Yoon tells her story of how she went from an accountant with a casual love of Korean Pop Music, to being the owner of the first K-Pop merchandise store in the entire state of Texas. You can find her at evepinkshop.com and @evepink_official on Instagram. All of our social media and info can be found at paynepoints.com, so check us out there for all of our latest updates! Note: Around the 38 minute mark, Producer Megan incorrectly says that BTS' Map of the Soul: Persona came out in 2018. She meant to say Love Yourself: Tear, as she personally had noticed a big spike in K-pop at that time. She also noted she remembers being 11 when Big Bang's Bang Bang Bang came out; that song came out in 2015, making her 15, not 11. Imagine being a 20 year old who can't remember how old they were during certain moments in their life. It's rough.

Apologies.Note: Around the 10:20 mark, I mistakenly used the year 1958 a few times when I obviously should have said 1858. He’s also the author of Project Reinvention: The Social Timeline of a Millennial—a book where he open and honestly recollects his journey from self-described abject failure to someone now focused and steadfast on the path to success. And last but not least, he’s the host of the Ride With Me podcast. In this episode, we talked about lessons from retail, blue collar work ethic, and hitting rock bottom. It was a candid, refreshing, and at times hilarious conversation. We also talked about sleep as a competitive advantage, drawing energy from your outfits, and staying sane on social media. --- NOTE: Around the 1:02:00 mark, the quality of the audio drops quite a bit. Unfortunately we had ran into a technical issue on the boards, and as a result had to substitute the corrupted audio with whatever we picked up on camera. We're terribly sorry for this issue, and are going to bring Mahfuz back in the studio for a follow-up to this otherwise awesome episode. In the opening take, Lee talks about the most interesting thing he heard while attending Big 12 Football Media Days at the Star in Frisco. Then Grant joins to explain why we didn't use a DeMarco Murray play in the intro (5:00). Shifting to the OU QB competition. Lee has a theory that Austin Kendall may actually be the best person to start for the Sooners (8:15). Grant buys Lee some time while he pulls up Riley's soundbite about offensive leadership (21:10). Grant is worried that Jonathan Alvarez is mentioned among the offensive line (24:00). Is it troublesome that Riley did not mention Bobby Evans individually as one of the OL leaders (28:25)? Kenneth Murray is the "heart of the defense" according to Riley (34:55). Lincoln Riley explains what OU needs to do to improve its defense (40:40). Kenneth Murray reacts to zero Sooners being named to the Preseason All-Big 12 Defensive Team (50:10). Lee asked Murray about the media... and let's just say the sophomore linebacker isn't thrilled with a lot of the things said about him (53:10). The legend of "Bookie" grows as Murray has some really nice things to say about the true freshman (58:00). Touching briefly on the Jalen Redmond situation (1:03:00). Taking a look at the rest of Media Days, particularly Tom Herman's odd showing at the podium (1:07:30). Lee is way higher on Iowa State than anybody else and the guys talk OSU QBs as they react to the preseason Big 12 Media Poll (1:17:10). The guys talk about the preseason All-Big 12 team and eventually rag on the selections in the secondary (1:23:50). **NOTE: Around the 1:30:00 mark Grant's microphone audio gets wonky. Our Festivus Series continues with a return to the Silent Night, Deadly Night Franchise: Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2. The film is basically a recap of the original with some new footage thrown in involving Billy's brother Ricky, and in general terms no one would ever think this is a good film. But from a comical perspective, Silent Night, Deadly Night Part 2 is pure genius, a hilariously bad horror movie that features Eric Freeman in a defining roll. We also talk about Dread Central's new move to Patreon, Scream Factory's Black Christmas fiasco, and our podcast joining the Ace Podcast Network! Note: Around 33 minutes we talk about a recap scene from Silent Night, Deadly Night where we refer to Billy's mother as Linnea Quigley. That was a mistake - I had Linnea on the mind - and we actually mean Tara Buckman. Sorry about that!

Plus: Omega and hagiography.  (Note: Around the thirty-minute mark there is a brief mention of Thomas Jefferson and his relationship with Sally Hemings that may be triggering for some listeners. It's brief but those easily triggered by such topics should be aware it's coming. Thanks.) Main Topic: The Three Doctors. The Bristol Boys. Answering machine adorableness from married couples. The first of the N Doctors Stories. Jo Grant is very Twiggy. Katy Manning is blind. Jo's longevity. The Brig satires himself. Omega was nearly Ohm. Benton is the Rory of the classic series. Jo just hanging out. The humor of The Three Doctors. A satirical sign? Austin Powers. All of the anniversary stories are silly. The Second Doctor plays the comic relief role. Emo Tenth Doctor and Jazz Hand Tobey Maguire in Spider-Man 3. A cheerleader movie reference. William Hartnell. What if the First Doctor met the Eleventh Doctor? Shana does her Susan impersonation. Hartnell's last performance. A scientist and a Sam Seely character. Cooking tips with Oi! Spaceman. Reminding the audience of what a "Sam Seely character" is. Scooby Doo. Time Lords from Tron! A section of Daniel's notes. Why the Doctor left the Time Lords. Paradise Lost in a silly story. Omega. The sympathetic villain. Thomas Jefferson raped his slaves. Comparing Omega to the Mind Robber.
