Outline Foundations of Christian living and avoiding deception. Paul emphasizes the importance of correct foundations in Christian living, as any progress made must be consistent with the beginnings of the faith. The surest preventative against sub-Christian deviations is a full experience of the fullness of Christ, which guards against being taken captive by hollow and deceptive philosophy. Spiritual hunger and the need for deepening faith. Need to understand the importance of moving beyond the "first principles" of Christianity and deepening one's relationship with God. Hunger for spiritual fullness and victory over sin is a common desire among believers, but it cannot be relieved by repeatedly returning to the basics. Receiving Jesus Christ as Lord and Savior. Emphasize the importance of receiving Christ Jesus as Lord and Savior. The phrase "received Christ Jesus the Lord" is used to remind listeners of the emphasis on Messiah Jesus as Savior and Lord. Encourage believers to examine their relationship with Christ and to continue to grow in Him to Spiritual Maturity. Living a Christian life through faith and obedience. Emphasize the importance of understanding grace in faith. Christ's grace must be understood to receive Him as Lord. Living in Christ by grace through faith leads to commitment to Him. Urge continued commitment to Jesus, emphasizing importance of living out faith daily. Emphasis on Scripture is not just coming to church on Sundays, but living a life that reflects God's word. Encourage believers to keep running the race of faith, even when facing challenges and temptations. Spiritual growth through being rooted in Jesus, trusting in Him, and overflowing with thanksgiving. Emphasize importance of putting down roots in Jesus, with examples from John 15 and Psalm 1. Building on these roots, encourage believers to grow in faith, thanksgiving, and stability through the Word of God. Cultivating thankfulness in spiritual growth. Emphasize the importance of overflowing thankfulness for Jesus, focusing on the source of everything we have (God) and the right person (Jesus). The thankful individual has their eyes fixed on the right person and place (Jesus), and is filled with love and joy. Brainerd expresses desire to live closer to God in 1746, seeking to deepen faith and thankfulness. • Brainerd's diary entries reveal his longing to spend time with Jesus and walk with Him daily. Mark 8:36 "For what will it profit a man if he gains the whole world, and loses his own soul? John 14:6 Jesus said to him, “I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through Me. Have you trusted Him as your Savior? He can Save you if You ask Him based on His death, burial, and resurrection for your sins. Believe in Him for forgiveness of your sins today. “And you shall know the truth, and the truth shall make you free.” -John 8:32 Our mission is to spread the gospel and to go to the least of these with the life-changing message of Jesus Christ; We reach out to those the World has forgotten. hisloveministries.podbean.com #HLMSocial hisloveministries.net https://www.instagram.com/hisloveministries1/?hl=en His Love Ministries on Itunes Don't go for all the gusto you can get, go for all the God (Jesus Christ) you can get. As a pastor, I met with many individuals and couples who did not understand the operation of the Holy Spirit. Many Christians have not developed a relationship with the Holy Spirit. Receiving Jesus Christ as our Savior is our first encounter with the Holy Spirit. Jesus had constant contact with the Holy Spirit during his earthly life. Allow me to show you how to develop constant contact with the Holy Spirit.
Two of Jesus' closest disciples were brothers, James and John, also known as the Sons of Thunder. Their nickname depicted their fiery disposition. On one occasion when Jesus and his disciples were traveling to Jerusalem they stopped in a village of the Samaritans and wanted a place to stay. They were rejected because they were Jews. The Samaritans and Jews did not get along. The brothers asked Jesus if they should call fire down from heaven to consume them because of their disrespect for Jesus. Jesus rebuked them and said, “you do not know what kind of spirit you are of; for the Son of Man did not come to destroy men's lives, but to save them.” (Luke 9:55) John later became the author of the gospel of John, and 4 more books in the New Testament. Jesus picked John to take care of His mother when they were at the foot of the cross. John was also the only disciple that could not be killed even though he was boiled in oil and forced to drink poison. He was exiled to the Isle of Patmos where he wrote the book of Revelations. It is interesting to note that John called himself, “the disciple that Jesus loved.” Spending time with Jesus was transformative. When Jesus was hanging on the cross, John was the only disciple that was at the foot of the cross with Mary the mother of Jesus, and other women who were followers of Christ. All of the other disciples had scattered because of fear. John had a revelation of how much Jesus loved him and he was not afraid to be by the cross or of the Roman soldiers and the Jewish religious leaders who were responsible for Jesus' death. In 1 John 4:18, it says, “There is no fear in love; but perfect love casts out fear, because fear involves torment. But he who fears has not been made perfect in love.” When we have a deep revelation of how much God really loves us, it is transformative. It's not how much we love Jesus, but how much we understand and know that Jesus loves us so much, more than we could even imagine.Having that confidence that God is for us and not against us and He loves us with all of our faults and shortcomings eliminates guilt, condemnation, and fear.Receiving Jesus Christ as your personal savior is the first step to a transformative life. Receiving Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior is one of the most important decisions we'll ever make. What we decide to do after that moment reveals the strength and authenticity of our decision. We must learn to trust Him and follow His path for life. Join Ruth Kennedy as she speaks from the subject of Salvation - Saved By Grace. www.kingdomrock.org
This message is about becoming complete in Christ by first receiving Christ as Saviour.
Receiving Jesus Christ gives us the new identity and heavenly citizenship. While heaven is not yet seen by us, we are called to believe and live by faith our remaining life on this material world. At SMF's Online Devotion will be blessed by God through the sharing of the Word by our brother-in-Christ, Ricardo Muñoz. Let's be reminded and be encouraged to live by faith and not by sight in this world. All glory to God!
A Sunday morning sermon by Pastor David Singh. The Bible clearly reminds us of what we already know: "For the wages of sin is death, but the free gift of God is eternal life in Christ Jesus our Lord" (Romans 6:23). There is both condemnation of sin and freedom of life in Jesus Christ. God's love for us is most fully expressed in the death and resurrection of Jesus. In his journey to the Cross, Jesus goes through the pain of flogging and the agony of death. Isaiah prophesied, "Surely, he has borne our griefs and carried our sorrows; yet we esteemed him stricken, smitten by God, and afflicted. But he was pierced for our transgressions; he was crushed for our iniquities; upon him was the chastisement that brought us peace, and with his wounds we are healed" (Isaiah 53:4-5). God in Jesus Christ chooses to experience our pain and death. The power of God's goodness breaks forth in the Resurrection of Jesus Christ. This is not just a resurrection of Jesus but a resurrection for everyone who believes in Him. It is an invitation to a life free from all sin and evil. The resurrection is a promise of life with God for all eternity. Nothing can separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus. Receiving Jesus Christ is receiving God's love and God's life for us!
