Wash Your Heart First - Matthew 15:1-20When the child of GodLooks into the word of GodAnd sees the Son of GodThey are transformed by the Spirit of GodInto the image of GodFor the glory of God-Warren Wiersbe“And when the one with a discharge is cleansed of his discharge, then he shall count for himself seven days for his cleansing, and wash his clothes. And he shall bathe his body in fresh water and shall be clean.” - Lev. 15:13In today's passage Jesus criticizes those who put external man-made rules like ritual hand-washing on an equal level with biblical commands. Ironically, they often rationalized disobeying God's clear commands, showing they had clean hands but not clean hearts.Matthew 15:1-20When man-made traditions crowd out simple faith and obedience - V. 1-9There were 2 big problems with the Pharisees approach:First, all that focus on the external non-essential ‘fencing' of the law became so important to them that it crowded out matters of simple faith and obedience, loving God and loving others. The second problem was that their love for their external ‘fences' became more important than dealing with their own sinful hearts that needed attention before their holy God.The biblical command to honor your parents includes fully grown children ensuring that their parents needs are well taken care of as they age. They insisted they loved God because they had washed their hands down to their elbows. Jesus said “If you loved God you would take care of your momma!”But if anyone does not provide for his relatives, and especially for members of his household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever. - 1 Timothy 5:8The word for hypocrites (G5273) appears 17 times in the Bible, 13 in Matthew's gospel. It's a compound word, “An interpreter from underneath.” Actors in ancient Greek theater wore large masks, playing their part from underneath the masks.Jesus again addresses the heart of the matter - V. 10-20How did Jesus respond to the concern that the Pharisees were offended by Jesus? He basically said, “Of course they are offended – they are lost and going to Hell unless they repent!”Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you travel across sea and land to make a single proselyte (convert), and when he becomes a proselyte, you make him twice as much a child of hell as yourselves.” - Matthew 23:15What you put in your mouth goes through your stomach and is then expelled when you go potty. None of that natural process makes you spiritually unclean in God's eyes, or eating with unclean hands. Spiritual uncleanness comes when sin goes undealt with in the heart.Woe to you, scribes and Pharisees, hypocrites! For you clean the outside of the cup and the plate, but inside they are full of greed and self-indulgence. You blind Pharisee! First clean the inside of the cup and the plate, that the outside also may be clean. - Matthew 23:25-26Victory in the Christian Life comes from FOCUS:F is for Faith – Faith is the Victory that overcomes the world (1 John 5:4).O is for Obedience – We have 100% commitment to obey the Scriptures and the Spirit.C is for Confession - When we do sin, we confess our sin, receive God's forgiveness, and get on with faith and obedience. U is for Unite My Heart – bringing all spiritual resources to bear on loving God and hating sin.Teach me Your way, O LORD, that I may walk in your truth; unite my heart to fear your name. - Psalm 86:11“You must always be a-killing sin, or sin will always be a-killing you.” - John OwenS is for Serve God by serving others.

In this episode, Dr. Keith Rose reflects on his father's life and recent passing. Seeing that society's challenges stem from a disconnect with real history and true heroes—those who paved the way for meaningful progress. He explores why this disconnect matters, how it impacts us individually and collectively, and what we can do to rediscover our real roots and reconnect. /// The Scalpel is proud to partner with Brickhouse Nutrition. Dr. Rose uses and highly recommends Field of Greens. Your purchase through this link supports The Scalpel Podcast. /// https://scalpeledge.com/brickhouse ------------------------------------------------- The Importance of History & True Heroes Understanding Real History: Just as Noah, Abraham, Moses, David, Peter, and Paul are revered for their faith and actions in the Bible, we should seek to understand history through the lens of faith. These figures exemplify true heroism—living out their faith and making a lasting impact. Modern Heroes: A Contrast: In today's society, we often celebrate heroes who focus on personal gain or media attention rather than long-term impact. This contrast highlights the need for reconnecting with biblical ideals of heroism. The "Vindication Thirst Trap" (Post from Michael Foster - https://x.com/thisisfoster/status/1919125791402848755) Seeking Validation: Like Proverbs 27:1, which warns against seeking wisdom from the wicked, our pursuit of online validation can be seen as trying to fill an empty soul with temporary comforts. The Biblical Perspective: Jesus teaches that true fulfillment comes from trusting in God and living in humility. Galatians 6:3 emphasizes that we should not boast in flesh but seek to bear fruit through the Spirit. Overcoming Emotional Dependency: By fixing our eyes on God and seeking validation through His Word, we can break free from the trap of emotional dependency. The Impact on Individuals & Society Stagnation and Growth: Emotional dependency and distractions can cause individuals to become stuck, focusing on grievances rather than growth. This is akin to being weighed down by anger or bitterness, as noted in Proverbs. The Call to Maturity: The Bible calls us to mature in our faith, walking in integrity and wisdom. It's about dying to ourselves—letting go of sin and self-centeredness—to live in righteousness. The Connection to Transformation Personal Rejuvenation: Transformation involves a inward renewal, as mentioned in 2 Corinthians 3:17. It's about being changed by God's work in us, growing from glory to glory. National Impact: Similarly, national rejuvenation requires a shift from seeking shortcuts to truth to pursuing integrity and faith. The Bible encourages us to pray for our nation's transformation, seeking a spiritual awakening. The Role of Faith Faith as the Foundation: Biblical Christianity underscores the importance of faith in God over human effort or validation. It's through faith that we find integrity and transformation—walking authentically and being changed inwardly by God. --- Connect with The Scalpel: Website: https://scalpeledge.com Email: KFR@scalpeledge.com TruthSocial: @scalpeledge Rumble: @TheScalpel X: @TheScalpelEdge Instagram: @TheScalpelPodcast

Have you ever faced a moment where God's promises seemed impossible? In this episode, Dr. John explores the confidence of faith through the lives of Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, and Joseph. Despite uncertainty, these men trusted that God's promises would be fulfilled, teaching us how to stand firm in faith, even when we can't see the outcome.Defining Faith: How should someone approach God? Do they offer a scorecard of their successes or an inventory of their better qualities? The Bible is clear. We come to God by faith, and we live our lives with God through faith. Since faith is central, we should understand what it is and how it works. In this series Dr. John teaches through Hebrews 11, a chapter on faith. Listen, not for stories of faith in the past, but as a guide for your life today.

A @Christadelphians Video: The Atonement is one of the most amazing themes of the Bible, for it is "the power of God unto salvation". God reveals His wisdom and love for us in providing the Lord Jesus Christ who would not only uphold His righteousness, but be the basis for our forgiveness and redemption. Yet all of this must be more than just a set of principles - rather it must compel us as believers to develop the character and spirit of our Father. In a series of 8 studies, we look at four frames to discover the moral imperatives of the Atonement - The Bad News, The Good News, The Great News and the Amazing News. Study 4 - The Good News: God declared to be Right (Part 2). Christ came in our nature to be the representative sacrifice, in which God's righteousness would be manifest, showing that the true meaning of sacrifice. On this basis, God could be the justifier of those who believe. SummaryGod's atonement underscores His righteousness and provides a path for sinners to attain forgiveness and redemption through Christ's sacrifice.#Highlight s

Faith is the currency of this Kingdom. The kind of faith you possess determines the results you produce. From little to great faith, every believer must embark on a journey to grow in their trust and revelation of God. In this powerful teaching, Prophet Hari Rao shows us how to grow in great faith. Varying Degrees of Faith: We all possess faith in varying degrees and capacities. Some possess common faith, while others operate in unusual faith. There is a direct connection between the degree of faith and the results you will produce in life. Faith can grow or diminish based on your walk with the Lord and fellowship with the Holy Spirit. We must develop every area of our lives. Don't disqualify yourself when you find your faith lacking in one area; faith in one area can be developed and applied in another. Faith, when applied in every area, leads to a transformed life. We navigate life through faith. Faith is your internal compass that leads you to destiny. Faith Requires Revelation: Faith is fuelled by revelation knowledge of God. Great faith is a product of you seeing and knowing how Great God is. Faith requires that you show up like everything is already done for you! You don't have great faith because you are great; you have great faith because you have a great revelation of this God, having beheld and believed Him in a dimension no one in your generation has. The reason we struggle in life is because we lack sight. Faith is sight in the invisible. Your relationship with God produces a correlating faith. Practical Applications of Faith: Faith as Sight: Faith is sight in the invisible, allowing you to see the invisible and believe the impossible. Faith as Currency: Faith writes the cheque for everything you need, unlocking God's provision Faith in Action: Faith requires showing up as if everything is already done, fully trusting in God's limitless power. Great Faith: A Goal for Every Believer Great faith grants you the privilege of tailor-making your outcomes! Great faith ignites great dreams within you and empowers you to believe in God for visions beyond yourself. Let this teaching ignite in you the hunger to grow from little faith to great faith—faith that transforms impossibilities into testimonies. Grow in Great Faith. Believe for the impossible. Show up and watch God move!
Let's go on the offensive for the gospel today. How many times does the Bible need to say that salvation is by grace through faith for it to be true? Just once. And yet, it says it over and over and over again to refresh us in that truth. In order to argue that salvation is by anything other than Jesus Christ, one must contend with dozens of verses that describe salvation without a mention of anything other than faith in Him alone. The good news of God's grace is something that we should never grow tired of hearing or talking about. We were allowed by God to be put in trust with the gospel (1 Thess 2:4), so let's both share it and repeat it! Faith in God is never static or inactive—it's always energetic, even when misdirected. Worry, for example, is faith in reverse, believing that things will turn out poorly. We are called to manage our faith in a way that showcases God's faithfulness, allowing us to fully maximize our purpose and potential in Him.
