Melissa is back! And Jon and Roy from Yours, Mine and Theirs are here. (NOTE: To understand some of the jokes and repeated references in this episode, Jon ate some cornbread on camera and we talked about Brooke's obsession with Savannah Smiles, a movie about runaway/kidnapping children that was filmed in Utah) They're planning a live event on July 1st and are crazy. The Batman and punching too many people. Roy doesn't care if the adaptation is like the source material. Jon watched the Toei Animation version of The Little Mermaid from the 70's. Should the little mermaid have died at the end? Do we want more dark content for children? We spend 5 minutes being really mushy talking about how we love each other so much. We'll do a Disney Robin Hood episode if we start a Patreon for bonus content. Join the chaos of the YM&T Facebook group and help us choose movies for Roy and Jon to watch and subscribe to their podcast on your favorite platform or see all of Jon's meticulous show notes on their blog. Then rate it 5 stars. --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/kissyourfranchisegoodbye/message

Sisters in Loss Podcast: Miscarriage, Pregnancy Loss, & Infertility Stories
In today's episode we have Qiana Wright who shares her miscarriage at 8 weeks, premature birth at 28 weeks, and infant loss story at 9 months due to daycare abuse. We also talk about her inspiration for starting her foundation Savannah Smiles, and trying again for a family after having her tubes tied. Qiana shares in this episode how her first pregnancy ended in a premature birth of son Julius. He spent a month in the NICU and came home on a breathing monitor. Later she conceived and ended up miscarrying at 8 weeks. Qiana and her husband were determined to try again, and became pregnant with daughter Savannah. After not having a known cause for her previous preterm birth and miscarriage, a cerclage was placed at 21 weeks due to her cervix shortening. Qiana gave birth to her beautiful healthy baby girl Savannah on March 1, 2015. She knew her family was complete and opted to get her tubes tied in April 2015. On December 4, 2015, Savannah died at 9 months due to child abuse while at daycare. This episode is for you to listen to if you have had a miscarriage, premature birth, infertility, and to understand how a couple and family grieves while going through the legal process of child abuse at daycare. We get our inner fat kid hammered on beer and cookies. In this episode, we’re looking for the right local beer pairings with Girl Scout cookies. We have six pairings to review, but thankfully, Ryan has edited out all the chewing and moaning. We test out some new characters, call for year-round cookie sales, and explain why Twitter hates babies. Craig forgot a beer and then throws some stuff. Ryan is unaware of U2. The Bickersons are back and ready for heartwarming family fun when Ali shows Jon 1982's Savannah Smiles, a look at the lighter side of kidnapping. Jon attempts to describe the Golden Girls' house. Ali attempts to describe a redneck soap opera. Both attempt to destroy their dog. Oh, and Jon does two new impressions that are even worse than any he's done before. Savannah Smiles was directed by Pierre De Moro, and written by Mark Miller. It stars Mark Miller, Donovan Scott, Bridgette Anderson, Peter Graves, Pat Morita, and some other people. Jon was amazed to learn this is available on the Amazon link on the MMIS website, as he assumed his copy was a bootleg.
How obscure can we really go? How about a 1982 kids film about a precocious little rich girl who's inadvertently kidnapped by a pair of bumbling convicts? Savannah Smiles, anyone? No? The movie's up on You Tube for your viewing...pleasure? For this episode, we even have a very special guest who just so happens to be a blood relative...Justin's mom. So his movie obsession can be partly attributed to her. We all three discuss the reason why this peculiar film was chosen, our varying love for Alvie and Boots, runaway kids in the movie and in real life, throwing melons at convenience store owners, Bridgette Andersen's performance and sad death, lots of love for Pat Morita and Peter Graves, the rousing soundtrack and more. This podcast is rated PG! Keepin' it clean, folks.
