El rumor de lo que Jesús acababa de hacer se difundió por toda la Judea y en toda la región vecina. *** Memoria de Santa Mónica Santa Mónica es famosa por haber sido la madre de San Agustín y por haber logrado la conversión de su hijo. Mónica nació en Tagaste ( África del Norte ) a unos 100 km de la ciudad de Cartago en el año 332. Sus padres encomendaron la formación de sus hijas a una mujer muy religiosa pero de muy fuerte disciplina. Ella deseaba dedicarse a la vida de oración y de soledad (como su nombre lo indica) pero sus padres dispusieron que tenía que esposarse con un hombre llamada Patricio. Este era un buen trabajador, pero terriblemente malgeniado, y además mujeriego, jugador y sin religión, ni gusto por lo espiritual. La hará sufrir lo que no esta escrito y por treinta años ella tendrá aguantar los tremendos estallidos de ira de su marido que grita por el menor disgusto, pero este jamás se atreverá a levantar la mano contra ella. Tuvieron tres hijos: dos varones y una mujer. Los dos menores fueron su alegría y consuelo, pero el mayor Agustín, la hizo sufrir por docenas de años. Patricio no era católico, y aunque criticaba el mucho rezar de su esposa y su generosidad tan grande con los pobres, nunca se oponía a que ella se dedicara a estas buenas obras y quizás por eso mismo logro su conversión. Mónica rezaba y ofrecía sacrificios por su esposo y al fin alcanzó de Dios la gracia de que en el año de 371 Patricio se hiciera bautizar, y que lo mismo lo hiciera la suegra, mujer terriblemente colérica que por meterse demasiado en el hogar de su nuera le había amargado harto la vida a la pobre Mónica. Un año después de su bautismo, murió santamente Patricio, dejando a la pobre viuda con el problema de su hijo mayor. Patricio y Mónica se habían dado cuenta de que su hijo mayor era extraordinariamente inteligente, y por eso lo enviaron a la capital del estado, la ciudad de Cartago, a estudiar filosofía, literatura y oratoria. Pero Agustín tuvo la desgracia de que su padre no se interesaba nada de sus progresos espirituales. Solo le importaba que sacara buenas notas, que brillara en las fiestas sociales y que sobresaliera en los ejercicios físicos, pero acerca de la salvación de su alma, no se interesaba ni le ayudaba en nada. Y esto fue fatal para él, pues fue cayendo de mal en peor en pecados y errores. Cuando murió su padre, Agustín tenía 17 años y empezaron a llegarle a Mónica noticias cada vez peores, de que el joven llevaba una vida nada santa. que en una enfermedad, ante el temor a la muerte se había hecho instruir acerca de la religión y propuesto hacerse católico, pero que sanado de la enfermedad había abandonado el propósito de hacerlo. Y que finalmente, se había hecho socio de una secta llamada de los Maniqueos, que afirmaban que el mundo no lo había hecho Dios, sino el Diablo. Y Mónica que era bondadosa pero no cobarde, ni floja, al volver su hijo a vacaciones y empezar a oírle mil barbaridades contra la verdadera religión, lo hecho sin más de la casa y le cerró las puertas, porque bajo su techo no quería alberga enemigos de Dios. Pero sucedió que en esos días Mónica tuvo un sueño en el que vio que ella estaba en bosque llorando por la pérdida espiritual de su hijo y que en ese momento se le acercaba un personaje muy resplandeciente y le decía: «tu hijo volverá contigo» y enseguida vio a Agustín junto a ella. Le narro al muchacho el sueño tenido y el dijo lleno de orgullo que eso significaba que la madre se iba a volver maniqueista como el. Pero ella le respondió: «En el sueño no me dijeron, mamá ira a donde su hijo, sino tu hijo volverá contigo». Esta hábil respuesta impresionó mucho a su hijo, quien más tarde la consideraba como una inspiración del cielo. Esto sucedió en el año 437. Faltaban 9 años para que Agustín se convirtiera Por muchos siglos ha sido muy comentada la bella respuesta que un obispo le dio a Mónica cuando ella le contó que llevaba años y años rezando, ofreciendo sacrificios y haciendo rezar a sacerdotes y amigos por la conversión de Agustín. El obispo le respondió: «Este tranquila, es imposible que se pierda el Hijo de tantas lagrimas». Esta admirable respuesta y lo que había oído en el sueño, la llenaban de consuelo y esperanza, a pestar de que Agustín no daba la menor señal de arrepentimiento. Cuando tenía 29 años, el joven decidió ir a Roma a dar clases allá. Ya era todo un doctor. Santa Mónica se propuso irse con él para librarlo de todos los peligros morales. Pero Agustín le hizo una jugada tramposa (de la cual se arrepintió mucho mas tarde) Al llegar junto al mar le dijo a Mónica que se fuera a rezar a un templo, mientras iba a visitar a un amigo, y lo que hizo fue subirse al barco y salir rumbo a Roma, dejándola sola allí, pero Mónica no era mujer débil para dejarse derrotar tan fácilmente. Tomó otro barco y se dirigió hasta Roma. En Milán; Mónica se encontró con el Santo más famoso de la época, San Ambrosio, arzobispo de esa ciudad. En él se encontró un verdadero padre lleno de bondad y de sabiduría que la fue guiando con prudentes consejos. Además Agustín se quedo impresionado por su enorme sabiduría y la poderosa personalidad de San Ambrosio y empezó a escucharle con profundo cariño y a cambiar sus ideas y entusiasmarse por la fe católica. Y sucedió que en año 387, Agustín al leer unas frases de San Pablo sintió una impresión extraordinaria y se propuso cambiar de vida. Envió lejos a la mujer con la cual vivía en unión libre, dejo sus vicios y malas costumbres. Se hizo instruir en la religión y en la fiesta de Pascua de Resurrección de ese año se hizo bautizar. Agustín, ya convertido, dispuso volver con su madre y su hermano, a su tierra, en el África, y se fueron al puerto de Hostia a esperar el barco. Pero Mónica ya había conseguido todo lo que anhelaba es esta vida, que era ver la conversión de su hijo. Ya podía morir tranquila. Y sucedió que estando ahí en una casa junto al mar, por la noche al ver el cielo estrellado platicando con Agustín acerca de como serán las alegrías que tendremos en el cielo, y ambos se emocionaban comentando y meditando los goces celestiales que nos esperan. En determinado momento exclamo entusiasmada:«¿Y a mí que más me puede amarrar a la tierra? Ya he obtenido mi gran deseo, el verte cristiano católico. Todo lo que deseaba lo he conseguido de Dios». Poco después le invadió la fiebre, y en pocos días se agravo y murió. Lo único que pidió a sus dos hijos es que no dejaran de rezar por el descanso de su alma. Murió en el año 387 a los 55 años de edad. Miles de madres y de esposas se han encomendado en todos estos siglos a Santa Mónica, para que les ayude a convertir a sus esposos e hijos, y han conseguido conversiones admirables. La pintan como vestida de monja (porque así se vestían en ese tiempo las mujeres que se dedicaban a la vida espiritual, huyendo de los adornos y de la vanidad) y con un bastón de caminante, en recuerdo que hizo de los viajes buscando a su hijo para convertirlo, y con un libro en la mano, para no olvidar que fue la lectura de una página de la Biblia lo que obtuvo que Agustín se decidiera a convertirse definitivamente. Oración a Santa Mónica ¡Oh gloriosa Santa Mónica, espejo de esposas, modelo de madres, consuelo de viudas, mujer admirable, a quien Dios infundió el espíritu de oración y concedió aquel don de lágrimas con que supisteis hacer violencia al Dios de las misericordias para que se compadeciera de vuestros gemidos, escuchara vuestras plegarias y os concediera el fin de todos vuestros deseos!, a vuestras plantas venimos hoy las que sufrimos y lloramos en los tristes caminos de la vida, a suplicaros que nos alcancéis el espíritu de oración que Vos tuvisteis y la compunción que merecen nuestras culpas, para que derramando con humildad nuestro corazón ante el Dios de toda piedad y misericordia, alcancemos la gracia de vivir la santa vida que Vos vivisteis en la tierra, y merezcamos la gloria que Vos gozáis ahora en el cielo, en compañía de nuestros padres, esposos e hijos, y de todos los que por la sangre y el afecto nos pertenecen y son en Jesucristo, Señor nuestro, amados y queridos de nuestro corazón. Esta semana voy a escribirte un poco más de lo normal.Voy a escribirte más porque vamos a abrir una nueva edición de Más Listo que la IA, la formación que hacemos Víctor Millán y yo para aprender a usar inteligencia artificial con un poco de criterio, algo de método y esa pizca de pillería que también nos caracteriza.Prefiero decirlo así, de frente: esta semana voy a vender.* No voy a fingir que no estoy vendiendo.* No voy a esconder que esto es una campaña comercial debajo de una montaña de “contenido de valor”.* Y no voy a hacer como si cada correo hubiera nacido de una epifanía espontánea cuando, en realidad, forma parte de una secuencia pensada para que una persona pueda decidir si entra o no entra en la formación.Pero precisamente por eso quería escribir este correo antes de empezar.Porque una cosa es vender y otra muy distinta es convertir la venta en una persecución.Harto de humo y cuentas atrásDurante estos días he estado pensando cómo ordenar esta campaña y me he dado cuenta de que el bloqueo no estaba en escribir los emails. Eso, más o menos, termina saliendo.El bloqueo estaba en otra parte: en decidir qué tipo de conversación quiero tener contigo durante una semana en la que voy a aparecer más de lo habitual en tu correo electrónico.Podría hacer lo clásico.Un primer email de “el mundo ha cambiado”. Otro de “esto es una oportunidad histórica”. Otro de “mira todo lo que incluye”. Y luego ya sabes: preguntas frecuentes, últimas 24 horas, última llamada, ahora sí que sí, cierro carrito, esta vez no es broma.Todo eso que sabemos que funciona. O que suele funcionar.Pero me da bastante pereza.Y, sobre todo, no encaja demasiado con mi forma de trabajar.No porque vender me parezca mal. Al revés. Vender me parece una parte fundamental del trabajo creativo.Lo que me da pereza es esa forma de vender que parece diseñada para que las dos partes terminen incómodas: quien vende, porque siente que está apretando demasiado; quien recibe, porque siente que le están intentando colocar algo con calzador.Y Más Listo que la IA no es una compra de pim pam.Cuesta 249 euros.Se puede pagar en tres plazos, sí, pero sigue siendo una decisión que merece pensarse. No es “me compro este cacharrito porque hoy estoy animado”. Es una formación. Es tiempo. Es atención. Es confiar en que lo que hay dentro va a ayudarte a trabajar mejor, pensar mejor y construir un sistema más sólido para usar inteligencia artificial sin convertirte en su becario.Por eso no quiero que nadie entre por nervios.No quiero que alguien compre porque siente que se queda fuera, se agobia, paga y ya veremos.Quiero que, si alguien entra, sienta que ha tomado una buena decisión.Y si no entra, también.Esa frase es importante para mí.Porque vender bien no debería consistir en reducir la capacidad crítica del lector hasta que compra.No debería consistir en sintetizarlo todo en un punto de dolor, apretarlo hasta que moleste y esperar a que la persona pague para dejar de sentir presión.Creo que vender bien debería consistir en darte mejores elementos para decidir.Y en que, después, puedas sentirte bien con la decisión que has tomado.El precio, en grandeCuando alguien se plantea pagar 249 euros por una formación, las preguntas importantes no deberían ser “¿cuánto tiempo queda?” o “¿qué bonus voy a perder si no pago a tiempo?”.Al menos no solo esas.Para mí, las preguntas importantes son mucho más terrenales:* ¿Necesito saber mucho de inteligencia artificial para entrar?* ¿Puedo hacerlo a mi ritmo?* ¿Cuánto tiempo voy a necesitar para aplicar todo esto?* ¿Tendré acompañamiento durante el proceso?* ¿Es una suscripción o un pago único?* ¿Tiene sentido si trabajo por cuenta ajena?* ¿Es realmente para mí o estoy comprando otra cosa que luego se quedará muerta en una carpeta?Preguntas de personas reales.Preguntas que yo también me hago cuando compro formaciones. Y más todavía cuando son una inversión potente, de dinero y de tiempo.Esas son las preguntas que quiero resolver esta semana.No de pasada.No escondidas al final en una sección de preguntas frecuentes, como quien barre migas debajo de la alfombra.Quiero que sean el centro de la conversación.Porque si una campaña no responde a las dudas reales de la persona que está valorando comprar, creo que no está vendiendo. Está generando ruido alrededor de una oferta para que, entre el humo, alguien termine entrando medio perdido.Y no quiero eso.Mi intención con esta secuencia de correos no es repetir “compra, compra, compra” con distintos sinónimos.Quiero que cada correo tenga una función.* Uno irá a explicar por qué esta formación no va de saber mucho sobre IA, sino de recuperar criterio en un momento en el que todo el mundo tiene herramientas, pero no necesariamente dirección para usarlas.* Otro irá a aterrizar cómo se aplica esto sin convertirlo en una tarea infinita en Notion, en Drive o en cualquiera de esas pequeñas tumbas digitales donde cada uno acumula sus buenas intenciones.* Otro servirá para explicar para quién tiene sentido y para quién no. Porque no, no creo que esto sea para todo el mundo, y decirlo me parece más honesto que venderlo como si fuera una vitamina universal.* Y cerraré con otro correo para resolver dudas prácticas: precio, formato, acompañamiento, qué incluye la formación, cómo se puede pagar, los plazos y, sobre todo, la decisión final.La idea es sencilla.Si te interesa Más Listo que la IA, estos correos deberían darte el contexto suficiente para tomar una decisión con claridad.Y si no te interesa la formación, al menos podrás leerlos como una especie de despiece en directo de una campaña de venta que intenta no tratar al lector como si fuera idiota.Vas a poder ver cómo intento plasmarlo.Y creo que eso también puede interesarte como creador, como profesional o como persona que quizá en algún momento tenga que vender un producto, un servicio, una idea o un proyecto.No prometo que vaya a salir perfecto.Seguramente habrá momentos en los que me pase de prudente. Otros en los que quizá me quede corto. Y otros en los que tenga que recordarme que vender no es pedir perdón por existir, que es una de esas cosas en las que algunos caemos demasiado.Pero sí sé lo que quiero evitar.* No quiero escribir una campaña basada en FOMO barato.* No quiero que el argumento principal sea “corre, que esto se acaba”.* No quiero apoyarme en la urgencia como si la persona al otro lado no pudiera razonar si no le pongo una cuenta atrás delante.Aunque habrá urgencia, claro. Hay una apertura, una fecha y unas condiciones concretas.Pero no quiero que ese sea el motivo por el que alguien entre.No quiero que la única idea que quede después de todos estos correos sea “compra antes de que suba el precio”.Si después de una semana de emails esa es la única idea clara, la campaña no era una campaña.Era una alarma en tu móvil con enlaces.Lo que quiero intentar es otra cosa.Quiero explicarte bien qué problema resuelve Más Listo que la IA, para quién tiene sentido, qué cambia cuando empiezas a usar inteligencia artificial con método en lugar de ir saltando de herramienta en herramienta, y por qué creemos que esta formación puede ayudarte a trabajar mejor si estás en ese punto.No desde la presión.Desde el encaje.Desde la idea de que comprar también puede ser una decisión razonada, no una rendición después de recibir 300 impactos de venta.Así que este correo es un aviso y, a la vez, una especie de contrato.Esta semana te voy a vender.Pero voy a intentar hacerlo enseñándote la estrategia, respondiendo dudas reales y respetando tu capacidad de decisión.Si entras, quiero que sepas por qué entras.Si no entras, quiero que sepas por qué no.Y si por el camino te sirve ver cómo se piensa una campaña por dentro, aunque no compres nada, entonces este experimento ya habrá merecido un poco la pena.Un abrazote This is a public episode.
