A live session from #JaipurLitFest2020. In a magical session that brings the music of words to life, the acclaimed vocalist Shubha Mudgal reads from and speaks her debut collection of short stories, Looking for Miss Sargam. Her book, set in the world of classical Indian music, is wry, tongue in cheek and full of deep insights and perspectives. In conversation with editor Sudha Sadanand, Mudgal tells us of the elusive Miss Sargam, of the traditions, realities and contradictions that a musician straddles and the realities that her narratives invoke.
In conversation with Sudhir Mishra on Hazaaron Khwaishein Aisi (2005) as it turns 15 this year. Mishra shared memories about conceiving the film, as well as the writing, casting and music of the film. We also chatted about the astonishing relevance of the film today, the current political climate, and his upcoming Netflix series, Serious Men.I also asked him if Manu Joseph and he shared similar worldviews and how he's managed to remain a balanced voice on Twitter in what seems like a never ceasing season of polarization. Although we spoke over Skype and it was our first interaction, it did feel like a nice conversation around a film which you would have with a friend over some scotch:) Credits:Concept, script: Himanshu (@loveofcinemasf8)Host: Himanshu Editor: Devika JoglekarMusic: Nakul AbhyankarCopyrights © Love of Cinema 2020
