December 21 2025 Sunday Who Jesus Made You To Be / Week 05 / T. Stacy Hayes #findoutwhoyouare My Vision My vision is to teach the world Who They Are In Jesus Christ their Lord and Savior! To Teach them what the Bible says about them and who they have been made to be in the promises of God's Word. This changed my life years ago and completely transformed me from a person full of doubt, fear and unbelief to a strong confident Christian that knows I can do anything through Jesus Christ my Lord and Savior. And I'm determined to teach the world what God has taught and commissioned me to teach and that is His Word. That commission takes me to jails and detention centers weekly along with other open doors at many churches and ministries that are wanting to teach these important truths to the world. My podcast goes out 6 days a week to help the people I am ministering to grow in the truths that God has taught me for many years now. This podcast is free to all that want to listen and grow strong in who God has made them to be in Christ Jesus their Lord and Savior. Pastor Eric teaches on who the Christ is, and what it means for us. That we might relate come to see Jesus as the Anointed One.
On today's Bible Answer Man broadcast (12/19/25), Hank starts a special series leading up to Christmas Day featuring his CHRISTMAS acronym, starting with the first two letters of the acronym: "C" and "H". Christ—the "C" in CHRISTMAS—is a title that comes from the Greek “Christos”, which is a rendering of the Hebrew word Messiah, meaning “anointed one.” As such, the Christ of Christmas is the long-awaited Messiah who fulfills all the types and shadows of the Old Testament Scriptures. So, to fully grasp the significance of the Anointed One's Messianic role, you have to drink deeply from the wellspring of Old Testament prophecy. Moving on to history—the “H” in CHRISTMAS—Hank explains that Jesus Christ stands at the very apex of human history. Therefore, he can say with certainty that Christmas is not about reveling in mythology, it is about celebrating events that are rooted in historical fact.

Magnifying the Christ of Christmas, Week 2The Anointed ChristIsaiah 42:1-9, Isaiah 61:1-4, Matthew 3:13-17, Luke 4:16-22 | King's Chapel Live StreamLong before the birth of Jesus, God promised that an Anointed One would come. A Servant filled with the Spirit. A Savior who would bind up the brokenhearted. A Son who would be loved and affirmed by the Father. Every part of the Old Testament pointed ahead to the One who would bring hope, healing, and salvation. In this message, we look at how Isaiah, Matthew, and Luke reveal the identity of the Anointed Christ. Jesus is the Chosen Servant who brings justice. He is the Anointed Savior who comforts the mourners, frees the captives, and proclaims good news to the poor. And He is the Beloved Son upon whom the Spirit rests, revealing the deep love and pleasure of the Father. All of these promises come together in Jesus. He fulfills every word spoken about the One who would come. He is the Servant who stoops, the Savior who heals, and the Son who brings us into the love of God.If you need hope this Advent season, this message will remind you that Jesus is the Anointed Christ who brings light to our darkness and joy to our weary hearts.Connect with King's Chapel in Longwood, FL - ▶️ www.kingschapelfl.com▶️ https://www.facebook.com/KingsChapelfl▶️ https://www.instagram.com/kingschapelfl/For the GLORY of our Great GodFor the GOOD of our NeighborAdvent sermon, Anointed Christ sermon, Isaiah 42 prophecy, Isaiah 61 good news, Spirit of the Lord on Jesus, King's Chapel Longwood FL, Jesus the Servant, Jesus the Savior, Beloved Son baptism, Christmas Bible teaching, promises fulfilled in Christ

“Now listen and understand! Seven sets of seven plus sixty-two sets of seven will pass from the time the command is given to rebuild Jerusalem until a ruler—the Anointed One—comes. Jerusalem will be rebuilt with streets and strong defenses, despite the perilous times. “After this period of sixty-two sets of seven, the Anointed One will be killed, appearing to have accomplished nothing, and a ruler will arise whose armies will destroy the city and the Temple. The end will come with a flood, and war and its miseries are decreed from that time to the very end.”- Daniel 9:25-26 NLT

THE SECOND SECTION of the Book of 1 Enoch isn't as well known as the part that deals with the fallen Watchers, but it's important for New Testament theology. The Book of Parables, chapters 37–71 of 1 Enoch, deals specifically with how the world will be purified from the sin introduced by the rebellious Watchers. To the author(s) of this section of 1 Enoch, which was probably written by Essenes in the Galilee between 25 BC and the end of the first century BC (in other words, just before the birth of Jesus), the world had been so corrupted by the fallen angels that only God's direct intervention could put things right. This week, we share the historic backdrop of the Book of Parables: The return of Jews from Babylon who found a priesthood in Jerusalem that believed the age of prophecy was over, repeated invasions by Greeks, Armenians (yes, really), Parthians, and Romans, and civil war, which only intensified a belief among the group that came to be known as Essenes that the arrival of a Savior was imminent. When he didn't come on schedule (sometime between 90 and 80 BC), the Essenes revised their timeline. After a period of civil war, followed by a Parthian invasion around 40 BC, Herod the Great, governor of Galilee, returned from Rome with the backing of the army of Mark Antony (yes, that one). When Herod drove the Parthians from Judea in 37 BC after a three-year war, many Essenes apparently thought Herod was the Anointed One—the Messiah! It didn't take long for Herod to disabuse everyone of that notion. That's the back story of the Book of Parables. It was written at a time when many Jews believed Messiah's arrival was imminent. The Book of Parables was a reminder that God's promises would be fulfilled, and the agent of God's imminent judgment was a figure called the Anointed One, the Chosen One, and, most frequently, the Son of Man. This would all be nothing more than historical interest except for an important fact: Jesus applied the title “the Son of Man” to himself 78 times in the New Testament, and that title doesn't appear in any Jewish writing prior to the Book of Parables. This week's question: Are there ranks of demons, some of which are more difficult than others to exorcise? We referenced the work of Restoration in Christ Ministries (rcm-usa.org). On this episode, David Wollen speaks with Dave and Sally Gobbett about how Messiah helps us enter Advent with deeper hope in Jesus.
The sermon opens with a profound exploration of identity and spiritual transformation, centered on the Apostle Paul's self-description as a 'doulos'—a bound servant of Jesus Christ—highlighting the radical surrender required of every believer. It emphasizes that true discipleship involves a complete submission of one's will to Christ, mirroring the disciplined obedience of a soldier in boot camp, and contrasts this with the enslavement to sin from which Christ delivers us through His death and resurrection. The message underscores the theological significance of Christ's name—Jesus, meaning 'Jehovah saves,' and Christ, meaning 'the Anointed One'—revealing His divine nature and redemptive mission. It defines the Christian as a 'saint,' not by achievement but by divine separation from sin and dedication to God, rooted in the new birth and sustained by faith in Christ. The sermon calls listeners to a life of responsive obedience, where the Word of God functions as both a lamp to guide and a light to illuminate the path, urging believers to live in the reality of their new identity in Christ.
Daniel 8–10 pulls back the curtain to show that behind every kingdom, cultural moment, and experience of human evil is a real but unseen spiritual war. Daniel sees that dark powers influence earthly empires, yet God limits and overrules them. In chapter 9, Daniel demonstrates how God's people engage this battle—not through control or political power, but through humble prayer and repentance, which become acts of spiritual warfare. Even when answers feel delayed, heaven is already fighting on behalf of God's people. Ultimately, Daniel's visions point forward to the Anointed One whose death and resurrection delivered the decisive blow against the powers of darkness. At the cross, Christ disarmed spiritual rulers and guaranteed their destruction. So as we live in the “already/not yet,” we fight with spiritual weapons, stay alert and humble, and hold fast to the hope that Jesus' victory is final and His kingdom will reign forever.

In this message, Pastor Caleb discusses the importance of declaring Jesus as the Messiah in one's life and allowing Him to bring a change to one's heart. When people can view Jesus in His proper role, they will experience Him as the life-changing Anointed One that He really is. Peter and John also give prime examples of this in the book of Acts. Do you know the end of the Epic Story? It's pretty simple: Jesus wins! The power of Satan holds sway in many venues in the world, giving rise to the influence of the Biblical concept of Babylon all around us. Followers of Jesus can, however, have hope. In the end the Lamb of God, the Savior of the World, Jesus the Anointed One, The very God of Creation Incarnate will return in glorious splendor to vanquish Satan and establish His Kingdom of Truth and Justice forever!
Jesus is anointed outside of Jerusalem, what can we take away from one of the most beautiful moments of worship in the Gospels.
What you believe about Jesus Christ shapes what you believe about everything else. In this message from The Apostles' Creed series, Pastor Roger Pettay unpacks the four powerful truths embedded in one short confession: “I believe in Jesus Christ, His only Son, our Lord.” Discover what Scripture reveals about: • Jesus — truly human, our Brother and Mediator. • Christ — the Anointed One, our Prophet, Priest, and King. • His only Son — the unique, one-of-a-kind, eternal Son. • Our Lord — the divine, sovereign YHWH made known in Jesus. This message calls every believer to move beyond admiration to confession, allegiance, and obedience—to live under the gracious rule of Jesus Christ, our Lord. The Purpose of The Anointed One by Strong Tower Bible Church
In this sermon, Pastor Keith reminds us that because of God's eternal covenant we can flourish under His righteous King. David's lasting last words point us to Jesus, the true Anointed One, whose rule brings light, life, and lasting renewal. Under His reign, God's people find secure confidence in His Word, renewed vitality in His presence, and final cleansing through His holy judgment.
Servant-hood: Have we, as Christians, sincerely speaking, got so deep in service to the cause, than serving Christ Himself? Yes whatsoever you've done unto the least of these, you have done unto me, and charity is good, when it's rooted in the character of Christ that is first birthed in the time of contrition and worship; service to the Lord Jesus Christ, the Savior of the World. Hi. I'm pastor Daniel Wright of HOWC, and this Sunday, I will be continuing our series called, “The House of Simon: A Picture of the Modern Church” with a powerful 2nd addition entitled, “Selling Out the Anointing.” From Matthew 26, we see a striking contrast: a woman's costly act of worship toward Jesus called “waste” by Judas believing that the value of the sacrifice would have been better served tot he poor in charity, but was nothing more than his greed cloaked in disingenuous charity. So instead of selling the precious ointment for the poor, Judas sold the anointing by betraying the Anointed One. The fact remains that true worship is never wasted, but selfish motives will always be marred by spiritual betrayal. Through this word, we are challenged to examine our hearts: Is our ministry first to Jesus? Or to material gain, or even “good works”? Because only when we posture our love to Jesus first, only then can we rightly serve others in love.
Join us as Pastor Tommy continues the sermon series Here as in Heaven. Eugene Peterson described the church as a "colony of heaven in a country of death." God's desire is to bring heaven here, and this overflows into our worlds. In this message we will describe our strategy for missions based on Acts 1:8. We will emphasize the significance of Jesus' identity as King in the New Testament. We will stress that the phrase "kingdom of God" signifies God's reign and rule through Christ, encouraging repentance and belief in Jesus' message, urging us to prioritize God's kingdom in our lives. We will discuss the importance of recognizing Jesus as the Anointed One and the impact of this understanding on evangelism.References: Acts 1:8 & Matthew 28:16-20To get connected visit https://www.midtownvineyardchurch.com...To Donate https://midtownvineyard.churchcenter.... Join Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 25, 2025, as we reflect on Now I Know That the Lord Saves His Anointed from Psalm 20:6-9. This passage shifts from prayer to confident declaration: “Now I know that the Lord saves his anointed.” For David, it meant assurance of God's presence in battle. For us, it points to Christ, the true Anointed One, whom God raised from the dead and exalted forever. The psalm contrasts worldly trust—“Some trust in chariots and some in horses”—with the faith of God's people who rely on the Lord's name. Human strength collapses, but those who trust in God rise and stand upright. In Christ, our victorious King, we share in His triumph and salvation. Be encouraged to place your confidence not in earthly power, but in the unshakable name of the Lord.Support the ministry: https://buymeacoffee.com/whitegandalphOr visit: buymeacoffee.com/whitegandalphHashtags:#DailyDevotion #Psalm20 #BibleStudy #ChristianFaith #PastorBalla
Welcome to Daily Devotion with Pastor Balla for September 24, 2025. Today's devotion, May the Lord Answer You in the Day of Trouble from Psalm 20:1-5, is a prayer for the king—God's anointed—spoken before battle. It reminds us that true protection and victory come not from human strength but from the Lord. David prays for God's help, support, and favor, knowing that the Lord answers in times of trouble. For us, this psalm points to Christ, the true Anointed One, whose perfect sacrifice secures God's favor forever. In Him, our desires are reshaped to align with God's will, and His victory becomes ours. When trials come, we lift the banner of the cross, rejoicing in His salvation. Join us for this devotion as we learn to trust God's protection and rejoice in His triumph. Scripture: 1 Kings 2:1-4, 2 Samuel 7:16, Daniel 2:44, Daniel 7:13-14, Daniel 9:26, Acts 2:29-32. We will take a look at David's legacy. 1 Kings 2:1-4, “When the time drew near for David to die, he gave a charge to Solomon his son, “I am about to go the way of all the earth,” he said. “So be strong, act like a man, and observe what the Lord your God requires: Walk in obedience to him, and keep his decrees and commands, his laws and regulations, as written in the Law of Moses. Do this so that you may prosper in all you do and wherever you go and that the Lord may keep his promise to me: ‘If your descendants watch how they live, and if they walk faithfully before me with all their heart and soul, you will never fail to have a successor on the throne of Israel.'” Prosper - by obedience to God, faithful to God. Promise - He wants to know there will continue to be godly men on the throne. (Our next questions are: What do we know and what happened? Find out more about the descendants of David in our weekly Bible class “Kings and Prophets from Solomon to Jeremiah” on Tuesdays at 9:30am CT watch here: https://www.awakeusnow.com/tuesday-bible-class ) Back to today's story…. In 2 Samuel 7:16 we read a promise God gave David, “Your house and your kingdom will endure forever before me; your throne will be established forever.” FOREVER! Two times! So the question is, “Did God break His word?” We know David's line did end… Zedekiah, was the last descendant of David on the throne at Jerusalem. 586 BC. The answer - “But Daniel…” Pastor shares the story of Daniel's interpretation of King Nebuchadnezzar's dream. Daniel 2:44, ““In the time of those kings, the God of heaven will set up a kingdom that will never be destroyed, nor will it be left to another people. It will crush all those kingdoms and bring them to an end, but it will itself endure forever.” There's the “forever” word again. In Daniel 7:13-14 Daniel has a vision, ““In my vision at night I looked, and there before me was one like a son of man, coming with the clouds of heaven. He approached the Ancient of Days and was led into his presence. He was given authority, glory and sovereign power; all nations and peoples of every language worshiped him. His dominion is an everlasting dominion that will not pass away, and his kingdom is one that will never be destroyed.” The book of Daniel, through the discovery of the Dead Sea Scrolls and some recent discoveries, has theologians, linguists and historians reexamining and taking a fresh look at the ancient past - they are discovering that what Daniel shared was actually true. David's prophetic statements challenge world-views. Daniel 9:26 “The Anointed One will be put to death and will have nothing. The people of the rule who will come sill destroy the city and the sanctuary.” (When the 4th kingdom comes the Messiah will be killed, the temple and the city will be destroyed.) Daniel predicted 100's of years in advance: ⁃ Four great empires will arise (Daniel 2:44) ⁃ Son of Man given all authority (Daniel 7:13) ⁃ All nations will worship him (Daniel 7:14) ⁃ His kingdom will be forever (Daniel 7:14) ⁃ Anointed One will be killed (Daniel 9:26) ⁃ Second Temple will be destroyed (Daniel 9:26) Daniel predicted 100's of years in advance that the Messiah would come at the time of the Romans (4th empire) an empire that had not yet risen at the time of the prophecy, that the second temple which had not yet been built would be destroyed by the 4th empire (the Romans - who actually did destroy the temple and the city of Jerusalem), that the Messiah would be killed (He was crucified and died on the Roman cross) and the Messiah's death would happen before the second temple was destroyed. The Messiah is Jesus who is also a descendant of David! And Jesus the Messiah will reign FOREVER! It is a remarkable prophecy - As believers this reinforces our faith and if you are not a believer, our prayer is that this causes you to seek Jesus out because you will find Him! Pastor closes with Peter's testimony in Acts 2:29-32 where we read that David's greatest legacy is Jesus the Messiah. The scriptures - recorded and preserved things going back hundreds and thousands of years, and continue to show itself to be reliable, trustworthy and true. They call us back to Jesus, they call us to come back to Him and respond to Him, to repentant and receive Jesus as our Savior, Lord and King. God does keep His word and may He bring the legacy of David - our Lord Jesus Christ - to the very heart and center of all of our lives. Now What? The context of Psalm 2 is that the king has been installed in Jerusalem, but all the foreign kings are hostile and conspiring against this king. If you read it carefully, you'll see that no earthly king can completely justify the fury of the threats, and no earthly king can completely justify the glory of the promises given. The language of the psalm, you might say, spills out over its banks. Psalm 2 is one of the messianic psalms. In verse 2, it says, “The kings of the earth take their stand […] against the Lord and against his Anointed One.” Do you know what the word Anointed One is in Hebrew? It means Messiah. This psalm is talking about the greater King. And it actually tells us three things: 1) we have a true King, 2) human beings hate the King, and 3) we need the King. This sermon was preached by Dr. Timothy Keller at Redeemer Presbyterian Church on December 12, 1993. Series: Understanding Jesus. Scripture: Psalm 2. Pastoral Reflections Finding God In Ourselves by Msgr. Don Fischer
Gospel Matthew 16:13-23 Jesus went into the region of Caesarea Philippi and he asked his disciples, “Who do people say that the Son of Man is?” They replied, “Some say John the Baptist, others Elijah, still others Jeremiah or one of the prophets.” He said to them, “But who do you say that I am?” Simon Peter said in reply, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God.” Jesus said to him in reply, “Blessed are you, Simon son of Jonah. For flesh and blood has not revealed this to you, but my heavenly Father. And so I say to you, you are Peter, and upon this rock I will build my Church, and the gates of the netherworld shall not prevail against it. I will give you the keys to the Kingdom of heaven. Whatever you bind on earth shall be bound in heaven; and whatever you loose on earth shall be loosed in heaven.” Then he strictly ordered his disciples to tell no one that he was the Christ. From that time on, Jesus began to show his disciples that he must go to Jerusalem and suffer greatly from the elders, the chief priests, and the scribes, and be killed and on the third day be raised. Then Peter took Jesus aside and began to rebuke him, “God forbid, Lord! No such thing shall ever happen to you.” He turned and said to Peter, “Get behind me, Satan! You are an obstacle to me. You are thinking not as God does, but as human beings do.” Reflection We see Peter again speaking before he fully, fully understands what he's talking about. But he is the one who makes the first major proclamation among the disciples that Jesus truly is the Messiah. He is the Christ, the Anointed One. And as Jesus goes on to describe what he is going to go through, Peter rebukes him. Peter tells him, that would be a terrible thing for you to go to Jerusalem, to die and to rise. And what I think is fascinating about this is Jesus response to him is. You're Satan. You sound just like Satan. Which underscores for me that Jesus was constantly tempted by the evil one to turn away from his fate in Jerusalem. We know he resisted in the Garden of Gethsemane. So here we see a revelation of the humanity of Jesus asking for support from his disciples. Closing Prayer Father, it is so easy for us to be excited about all the things that you promise you can do through us. To help those that we love. But there's also this mysterious death that we have to go through. A transformation, a letting go of something that we've clung to. And that is where we need your help and your grace. Help us not to be tempted to avoid the pain and expect yet all the benefits of our faith in you. And we ask this in Jesus' name, Amen. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices
Just as the Anointed One of the LORD reigns in Psalm 2, so the LORD Himself reigns in Psalm 93, pointing forward to the incarnation of the Word in the person of Jesus Christ. Though the kings in the line of David have not always been faithful, the LORD is the faithful King. He has established His throne forever for the sake of His people. Although the waters may roar against the LORD, He is their almighty Ruler whose decrees are trustworthy forevermore. Rev. Jeremy Swem, pastor at Our Savior Lutheran Church and School in Grand Rapids, MI, joins host Rev. Timothy Appel to study Psalm 93. To learn more about Our Savior Lutheran, visit www.oursavior-gr.org. Join Sharper Iron this summer to study selected Psalms. In the Psalter, God speaks His Word to us and teaches us how to speak back to Him in prayer. Even in the great variety of the Psalms, each one points us to our Savior, Jesus Christ. Sharper Iron, hosted by Rev. Timothy Appel, looks at the text of Holy Scripture both in its broad context and its narrow detail, all for the sake of proclaiming Christ crucified and risen for sinners. Two pastors engage with God's Word to sharpen not only their own faith and knowledge, but the faith and knowledge of all who listen. Submit comments or questions to: listener@kfuo.org
