As sheep, we can certainly be prone to wander in the cares of this world. But as God's sheep, we belong to a faithful Shepherd who will not leave us or forsake us. He is rich in grace, mercy, and love. Join me as we consider the encouragement of Scripture in our difficulties, and we are encouraged by supplemental reading pertaining to God's Word and Him being a Good Shepherd. Legalism is something every Christian must fight against. We all have the urge a time to measure our faith (or the faith of others) but some outside, extra-Biblical standard. In hopes of solidifying our faith, legalism only drives us away from Christ leads to depend on our own strength and virtue. This week's podcast features a clip from a sermon preached by one of my favorite preachers, Bob Bixby of Redeemer Church in Freemont, CA. Pastor Bob was once my pastor and still continues to be a mentor and friend. I think you will find this extremely helpful in your fight against the spiritually deadly inclination.Recommended Resources:The Grace Awakening: Believing in Grace Is One Thing. Episode 584 | Adriel Sanchez and Bill Maier answer caller questions. Show Notes CoreChristianity.com 1. I have a couple of friends who say that Jesus has come to them and spoken to them in their dreams. Most recently, they said that Jesus came to them and said UFO’s were real. I kind of cringe any time I hear that. I wanted to know, what are your thoughts on Jesus coming to people in their dreams? 2. As an introvert, I’ve actually enjoyed being at home more these days. I actually worry about when life goes back to normal because I don’t want to lose the joy and contentment I’ve been experiencing. Is this wrong? 3. Is thinking about our Triune God as an egg Modalism? The egg, egg white, and shell are three separate things but still one egg, like how the Father, the Son, and the Holy Spirit are three separate things but all God. Is this a valid way of thinking or not? 4. I asked Jesus Christ to be my savior a while back, but I can’t stop drinking, smoking, and cussing. I’ve tried everything. What can I do? In this inaugural episode of Help Me Teach the Bible, I talked with John Piper, founder and teacher of Desiring God and chancellor of Bethlehem College & Seminary, where he taught through the book of Philippians. He called this teaching a “dream come true.” Topics in this interview include:allowing those you teach to discover what the book is about;Paul's love expressed in this personal letter;connecting propositions in Paul's arguments; andthe better by far of being with Christ at death vs. the resurrection of the body.Recommended Audio ResourcesHans Bayer on context, outline, and thought flow in PhilippiansDick Lucas sermons on PhilippiansJohn Piper sermons on PhilippiansRecommended Print Resources:Philippians: A 12-Week Study by Ryan KellyPhilippians: The Fellowship of the Gospel by R. Rethinking Hell Part 2 (Is Hell Eternal Conscious Torment?): With Jordan Sutton (2019)In this episode of The Remnant Radio, Jordan Sutton is coming on the show to continue teaching us about conditionalism. The Idea that eternal life is only given to those who believe in Christ. By deduction, those who do not believe in Christ will not live eternally. Some have chosen to call this annihilationism, in short, we are discussing if hell is eternal conscious torment as it has been portrayed by media and the church, Or his Hell a place where people cease to be?Jordan will also be responding to some of the objections to conditionalism. ____________________________________________________________________________________Help Support The Channelhttps://www.paypal.com/cgi-bin/webscr?cmd=_s-xclick&hosted_button_id=GC2Z86XHHG4X6____________________________________________________________________________________ACADEMIC RESOURCES ON CONDITIONALISM The Fire That Consumes: A Biblical and Historical Study of the Doctrine of Final Punishment, 3 ed. by Edward William Fudge https://www.amazon.com/Fire-That-Consumes-Historical-Punishment/dp/1504029348Rethinking Hell: Readings in Evangelical Conditionalism Edited by Christopher Date, Gregory Stumphttps://www.amazon.com/Rethinking-Hell-Readings-Evangelical-Conditionalism-ebook/dp/B00K6Y48L2/ref=sr_1_fkmr0_1?keywords=Rethinking+Hell:+Readings+in+Evangelical+Conditionalism+Edited+by+Christopher+Date,+Gregory+Stump&qid=1569282964&s=books&sr=1-1-fkmr0____________________________________________________________________________________ACADEMIC RESOURCES ON TRADITIONAL POSITIONHell Under Fire: Modern Scholarship Reinvents Eternal Punishment 2004 Editors (Christopher W.
