Drama continues to unfold in Louisiana as LSU's search for a new head coach is underway. Wednesday, Louisiana Governor Jeff Landry spoke to the media about his disapproval of LSU Athletic Director Scott Woodward. He spoke about the money now owed to former head football coach Brian Kelly and who will be hiring LSU's next head coach. He emphatically stated that AD Scott Woodward will not be the one to hire the next head coach Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss Governor Landry's comments and where Woodward goes from here. Did Landry scare off potential candidates? Who do they think fits what he is looking for? Is Woodward on his way out of LSU? The guys answer all of these questions and more about the mess in Baton Rouge. Then, they shift over to what will be happening on the field on Saturday. We are in Week 10, but some teams are already facing College Football Playoff elimination games. A pair of 6-2 teams face-off as #18 Oklahoma visits #14 Tennessee. Which one of these schools has the advantage and a better path to keep hope alive to make the CFP? After a crazy season so far, is the losing coach in trouble? Next, the guys chat about #23 USC visiting Nebraska. While both of these schools appear to be on the outside looking in, a loss on Saturday seals the deal. Which school has the advantage for the weekend, and do they have enough to make a late season push for the CFP? Plus, it seems that both coaches will be firmly intact for the future at both schools, but can anything change that?Later, Andy, Ross and Godfrey give their I've Got A Feeling picks. SMU, South Carolina and Cal are who they feel good about this week.Get ready for another packed weekend of college football with College Football Enquirer.(1:00) - Louisiana Governor sounds off on LSU Athletic Director.(32:13) - #18 Oklahoma @ #14 Tennessee for a CFP elimination game(42:31) - #23 USC @ Nebraska for a CFP elimination game(54:02) - I've Got A Feeling  Subscribe to the College Football Enquirer on your favorite podcast app:

In this third discussion on Silas Marner, Hunter and Autumn discuss Marner's transformation and the effect of sin and secrecy in Godfrey Cass' life. Eppie's arrival transforms Silas's lonely life and increasingly connects him to the life of Raveloe. George Eliot shows that the effects of sin and redemption are often slow but sure. Godfrey Cass's hidden guilt ripens into regret, while Silas's increasing openness to love and spiritual community blossoms into restoration.Through Dolly Winthrop's steadfast faith, the quiet working of Providence, and the contrast between false and true treasure, Eliot paints a vision of faith, family, and community. The return of Silas's gold and the reappearance of Godfrey remind us that what is hoarded in secrecy turns to emptiness, but what is shared in love endures. The novel closes with a scene in the context of the life of the village — Eppie's marriage, Silas's contentment, and the joy of belonging.

Week 9 is in the books, and as is the theme of the last couple of weeks, there are rumblings about a coaching change at another big name school. Nothing has happened yet, but the writing seems to be on the wall for LSU's Brian Kelly after #20 LSU lost at home to #3 Texas A&M 49-25. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss what is going on in Baton Rouge and talk about when they think the move will be made. Then they talk about Mike Elko's Texas A&M team and the turnaround they've had in such a short time. The guys also discuss if #8 Ole Miss has clinched their spot in the College Football Playoff,  #2 Indiana's dominant win over UCLA and #4 Alabama's continued struggles against unranked teams.Later, Andy, Ross and Godfrey chat about the strange situation that occurred before #22 Texas' 45-38 victory over Mississippi State. A report was put out that Texas head coach Steve Sarkisian is interested in pursuing NFL head coaching opportunities. This report was quickly shut down by Sarkisian's camp. The guys discuss what was so odd about this situation. Then they dive into Texas' victory, Arch Manning's concussion and next week's matchup with #10 Vanderbilt. They also dive into the tightly contested race for the Group of Five bid for the CFP. After Memphis took down #18 South Florida on Saturday, the guys discuss who looks to be the favorite to come out of the Group of Five. There is a lot of confidence in the American Conference. Then, they look at the race of a different conference. The Big 12 conference to be specific. The guys break down this tightly contested race and chat about who they think could be standing atop of the Big 12 mountain top come the end of the regular season. Our last episode ended with an image of Silas Marner reeling from another betrayal and loss—his gold stolen, his world emptied once again. How would he respond this time? In this section, we see how Silas's cry for help at the Rainbow marks the first crack in his isolation, opening him to community and the possibility of grace. Around him, the intrigues and inner lives of Raveloe unfold—revealing how the state of one person's heart can ripple outward to shape the world around them.In today's episode, Autumn and Hunter follow the stories of Godfrey Cass, Dolly Winthrop, and Silas, examining three very different responses to guilt, faith, and human connection: Godfrey's attempt to manipulate reality to preserve his image, Dolly's quiet embodiment of lived faith, and Silas's unguarded vulnerability that leads him toward restoration. And when the mysterious child appears on Silas's hearth, a golden-haired “replacement treasure,” the story unexpectedly turns toward redemption.

Could coaches like Ole Miss' Lane Kiffin and Vanderbilt's Clark Lea look to move elsewhere, or are they comfortable right where they are? Plus, who are some of the top names from the Group of Five coaching ranks? Where might coaches like Jon Sumrall and Bob Chesney land?Later, the guys dive into what games might kick the coaching carousel into overdrive this week. What impact could #8 Ole Miss at #13 Oklahoma have on both Lane Kiffin and Brent Venables coaching tenures next season? Will #20 LSU and Auburn's games on Saturday be the final games for both Brian Kelly and Hugh Freeze? Then, it's time for some mid-season awards. Happy Valley is not so happy as of late. Preseason expectations of a deep CFP seem to be of a distant past after the firing of James Franklin on Sunday. Andy Staples and Steven Godfrey dive into how Penn State fell so fast and what led to the firing of a head coach whose team was ranked #3 just three weeks ago. Then the guys look at who Penn State should look to hire to be their new head coach. Should they try to poach big names like Alabama's Kalen DeBoer or Nebraska's Matt Rhule, or should they look at one of the hot new names like Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein or Syracuse head coach Fran Brown? The guys discuss what options are on the table.Later, there are more hurdles to now jump over for the Big Ten's attempt to get a private equity deal done. In Ross Dellenger's latest article, he explains why USC is now against signing a private equity deal. Ross is out today, but Andy and Godfrey break down what all is going on and if the Big Ten will, or even should, ever get a private equity deal done. Finally, the guys discuss a few notable topics from what we've been seeing on the field. First, they dive into the massive success, thus far, of Texas Tech. After an expensive offseason, it seems that all of the NIL investment is paying off. The Red Raiders are ranked seventh in the country and are currently undefeated going into Week 8. Andy and Godfrey discuss if they will face any hurdles in the Big 12, or if Texas Tech is going to run away with the conference. Then, they keep up the CFP talk but shift to a conference that will be fighting for a bid. The American Conference has been impressive this year, and the guys are convinced the winner of this conference will head to the CFP, but the question is who will that be? Four teams sit at the top with undefeated conference records currently. Navy, #22 Memphis, #19 USF and Tulane. The college football season is about halfway over and there are a lot of teams' seasons that are sitting in the middle of catastrophe and staying in the College Football Playoff hunt. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss which of these teams may survive and who may be looking for a new coach at the end of the year. Does the losing coach of LSU and South Carolina have to be concerned for his job after so much preseason hype? Is the loser of Texas and Oklahoma eliminated them from CFP contention, or would Oklahoma be able to survive a loss? Will Hugh Freeze be out with a loss to Georgia?Later, a major controversy was the talk of the sports media world yesterday and today the guys discuss. The controversy surrounded Paul Finebaum's absence on ESPN after his interview with Clay Travis, where Finebaum spoke about potential interest in running for Republican Senate in Alabama. Monday, Travis claimed Finebaum was banned from the ESPN main network after not seeing Finebaum on any of the usual shows he is on over the last week. ESPN denied any truth to this and then speculation began. Andy, Ross and Godfrey discuss what all seems to be happening and if there appears to be any truth or if this all may be designed to drum up controversy.*Disclaimer: This conversation was recorded before any confirmation of Finebaum appearing on ESPN on Tuesday morning. Finally, in the new world of NIL and college football, some teams and conferences were bound to fall behind. Steven Godfrey discusses the difficulties the Group of Five teams are having in this new world. He and Andy chat about the concept of some schools dropping down to FCS, or to D-2, and how that may be better than struggling in the Division 1 landscape. Get your week rolling with College Football Enquirer.(2:02) - What will determine the LSU & South Carolina coaches' job safety?(6:59) - Are Texas & Oklahoma eliminated with a loss on Saturday?(13:07) - Will Hugh Freeze be out at Auburn with a loss to Georgia?(24:33) - Paul Finebaum controversy(42:37) - Surviving in the Group of Five Subscribe to the College Football Enquirer on your favorite podcast app:

Week 6 is in the books, and what looked like it was not going to be a very exciting week of college football proved to be anything but that. The premiere matchup of the night had #3 Miami visiting #18 Florida State. Despite a late comeback by the Seminoles, the Hurricanes proved to be the more dominant team as they walked away with a 28-22 win. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss Miami's performance, the emergence of Malachi Toney and the overwhelming Miami defense. Plus, they chat about if Miami will be the number one seed in the CFP and if FSU can still make a run for the playoff? Then, the guys discuss the most shocking upset of the day as 0-4 UCLA defeated #7 Penn State. Behind newly named OC Jerry Neuheisel, UCLA scored 42 points and hung on to win 42-37. After two devastating losses, what is going on with Penn State, and are there brighter days ahead this season?Later, the guys discuss another upset from Saturday as Florida took down #9 Texas. Arch Manning continued to struggle as he threw two interceptions on the way to a 29-21 Florida win. With so much hype entering the season, how can Arch turn his season around, or is it time to bench Arch Manning? Andy, Ross and Godfrey discuss this and if there is a path for Texas to still make it to the CFP?Lastly, the guys discuss the other big matchup of the day that saw #10 Alabama avenge last season's upset and beat #16 Vanderbilt. Ty Simpson impressed with over 300 yards passing as Alabama continues to look like a much different team than the one the country saw in the first week of the season when they lost to Florida State. Is Alabama the team to beat out of the SEC despite their early season struggles? A difficult schedule will soon show what can be expected out of this team. All of this and more to wrap up Week 6 on College Football Enquirer.(1:28) - #3 Miami defeats #18 Florida State(19:35) - UCLA upsets #7 Penn State(31:15) - Florida upsets #9 Texas(52:04) - #10 Alabama defeats #16 Vanderbilt(1:04:38) - Around the country  Subscribe to the College Football Enquirer on your favorite podcast app:

Week 6 is just a few days away and a few teams are out for some redemption this week. We start in Florida as #18 Florida State looks to redeem themselves after being upset last week at Virginia. However, the redemption will not come easy as they host #3 Miami. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss this matchup and look at what Florida State has on the line trying to avoid back-to-back losses. They also share their thoughts on this year's Miami team and what a win would do for their season. Could a win put them on the fast-track to the top seed in the CFP? Then, we head to Tuscaloosa as they discuss #10 Alabama hosting #16 Vanderbilt. Alabama is looking to avenge last season's major upset and there will be no underestimating Vanderbilt this year. Can Diego Pavia still lead Vandy to another upset?Later, Ross steps off of the field and onto the court as he shares a bit of insider news about college basketball's NCAA tournament. Talk about expanding the field has continued, with an increase to 76 teams being the most likely choice if the field does expand. Not only do the guys have some strong feelings about this potential move, but they also discuss if this could have any impact on CFP expansion talk. Then, ESPN's Dan Wetzel (who listeners might be familiar with) had to make sure the guys didn't run out of stories to talk about, so he broke some news on Wednesday about the Big Ten. The Big Ten is in talks about a $2 billion dollar investment from a private equity firm. Andy, Ross and Godfrey talk about the impact this could have on college football and the potential pitfalls it would create for the sport. Finally, the guys make their picks for this week's I've Got A Feeling. ULM, Mississippi State and the Texas vs. Florida UNDER are this week's choices. All of this and more to get you ready for another exciting week of college football with College Football Enquirer. (1:51) - #3 Miami visits #18 Florida State(18:00) - #10 Alabama looks for revenge against #16 Vanderbilt(29:52) - NCAA basketball tournament expansion & impact on CFP(40:17) - Big Ten's $2 billion decision with private equity(51:45) - I've Got A Feeling Subscribe to the College Football Enquirer on your favorite podcast app:

On Sunday, Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey talked about how they expected Arkansas head coach Sam Pittman to be fired in the near future. By the time the episode was released, Arkansas had indeed fired Pittman, who was in his 6th season. Former Arkansas head coach, and current offensive coordinator, Bobby Petrino, has been named interim head coach and he made it clear that he is interested in removing that interim title. Andy, Ross and Godfrey discuss why this may be a more desirable job than it appears and who might be a fit for the new era of Arkansas football. They also debate if Petrino has a chance at becoming the full-time head coach and how Arkansas can have a program turnaround similar to the one Ole Miss is having right now. Later, we get Ross' Congressional Minute as he explains the new SAFE Act that is being introduced into the Senate. This is a similar act to the already introduced SCORE Act, but there are some key differences. Ross explains the differences between the acts and what they mean for the future of college athletics. The guys discuss which is a better act and where the discussions in Congress will go from here. Lastly, the Week 5 slate in college football was jam-packed with marquee matchups. However, Week 6 is lacking in comparison. The guys discuss the disparity between various weeks of the college season and Godfrey proposes the solution of a central body that does all of the scheduling in college football. It has been a busy Week 5 in college football and there haven't even been any games played yet. Tuesday was a drama filled day in the state of Oklahoma. It was announced that three games into his 21st season, Oklahoma State head coach Mike Gundy was fired. The Oklahoma State legend had taken the school to unprecedented heights, but in recent years there was more struggle than triumph. Losing 11 of his last 12 games, and starting the year with a 1-2 record, that included a 69-3 loss to Oregon and a loss to Tulsa, appeared to be the final straw. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey react to the firing and discuss where it all started to go wrong for Gundy in recent years. Plus, some other news that came out on Tuesday was that Oklahoma's starting quarterback, John Mateer, broke his hand in Oklahoma's victory over Auburn and needed surgery. He is presumed to be out about a month, but no official timeline has been released. The guys discuss if Oklahoma can survive without Mateer, especially heading into the Red River Rivalry on Oct. 11. Can they still make the playoffs with a few losses if they look good when Mateer returns? Later, Ross gives us his report from the commissioners' meetings this week. Ross was on-site for the meetings where the College Football Playoff formats of the future were discussed. How soon may we get a new format or will we get one at all? It appears a new committee may be formed to help aid in that decision. A frustrated Godfrey chimes in with Andy as the guys give their thoughts on the proceedings. Plus, Ross gives us an update on the SCORE Act in his Congressional Minute. Finally, the guys discuss games. It is a loaded week of fantastic matchups in college football and the guys try to get to as many games as they can. They spoke Tuesday about the big game at Penn State, but what about another big matchup in Athens, GA as #17 Alabama visits #5 Georgia. Plus, top ranked Ohio State goes to Washington, #4 LSU visits #13 Ole Miss and #11 Indiana looks to keep their momentum going at Iowa. Knowles knows the Ducks well from facing them twice last season when he was the defensive coordinator for the national champions, Ohio State. Dr. Matthew Godfrey explores the 1834 Zion's Camp expedition and D&C 102-103, providing historical insights on the expulsion from Missouri, the creation of the Kirtland High Council, and the call to redeem Zion, while also drawing powerful modern parallels about unanswered prayers, prophetic counsel, and enduring faith.SHOW NOTES/TRANSCRIPTS English: https://tinyurl.com/podcastDC238EN French: https://tinyurl.com/podcastDC238FR German: https://tinyurl.com/podcastDC238DE Portuguese: https://tinyurl.com/podcastDC238PT Spanish: https://tinyurl.com/podcastDC238ESYOUTUBE: https://youtu.be/Y244pDzjPsQALL EPISODES/SHOW NOTES followHIM website: https://www.followHIMpodcast.comFREE PDF DOWNLOADS OF followHIM QUOTE BOOKS New Testament: https://tinyurl.com/PodcastNTBook Old Testament: https://tinyurl.com/PodcastOTBookBook of Mormon: https://tinyurl.com/PodcastBMBook  WEEKLY NEWSLETTER https://tinyurl.com/followHIMnewsletter  SOCIAL MEDIA Instagram: https://www.instagram.com/followHIMpodcast Facebook: https://www.facebook.com/followhimpodcast TIMECODE00:00 Part 1 - Dr. Matthew Godfrey01:38 Episode teaser04:59 Dr. Godfrey's bio07:12 Study informs testimony11:24 The Lord blesses those who are willing13:38 Vilate Kimball recalls friends turning against Joseph15:46 Come, Follow Me Manual17:39 Background21:20 When we feel like we don't receive answers24:26 Zion's Camp isn't stationary26:48 New church offices30:16 Kirtland High Council organized35:10 Important difficulties38:45 Did the Lord restore ancient councils?41:35 Councils or counsels?46:16 The Kirtland High Council49:42 Helping the Saints in Missouri54:22 Joseph calls for volunteers to redeem Zion58:34 We need to pay more attention to the Book of Mormon1:01:39 Does the lord punish sin?1:05:48 The Lord's specific warning1:09:49 Anxiety and feeling close to the Lord1:14:12 Coming Up in Part II1:16: 25 End of Part I - Dr. Matthew Godfrey Thanks to the followHIM team: Steve & Shannon Sorensen: Cofounder, Executive Producer, SponsorDavid & Verla Sorensen: SponsorsDr. Hank Smith: Co-hostJohn Bytheway: Co-hostDavid Perry: ProducerKyle Nelson: Marketing, SponsorLisa Spice: Client Relations, Editor, Show NotesWill Stoughton: Video EditorKrystal Roberts: Translation Team, English & French Transcripts, WebsiteAriel Cuadra: Spanish TranscriptsAmelia Kabwika: Portuguese TranscriptsHeather Barlow: Communications DirectorSydney Smith: Social Media, Graphic Design "Let Zion in Her Beauty Rise" by Marshall McDonaldhttps://www.marshallmcdonaldmusic.com

C&K then chat about knowing where you're at in your cycle and anti-LGBTQ politicians before welcoming stand-up comedian, GODFREY, to the studio. The trio discuss growing up with Nigerian immigrant parents, the heyday of MTV's Spring Break, coming up in the 90s NYC comedy scene, the cognitive dissonance of being a Cosby fan, and getting heckled by women who wanna f*ck you.Follow GODFREY on IG @GodfreyComic Follow CORINNE on IG @PhilanthropyGalFollow KRYSTYNA on IG @KrystynaHutchFollow ERIC on IG @EricFretty Want to write into the show?
