A thrilling Week 12 has wrapped up, putting us two weeks away from the end of the regular season. The race in the SEC just got a little more interesting as #4 Alabama fell to #11 Oklahoma. It is that time of year again! The time when attention shifts away from the AP Poll and moves over to the College Football Playoff rankings. Tuesday, the College Football Playoff committee released the initial rankings for 2025. Ohio State remained at the top followed by Indiana, Texas A&M and Alabama to round out the top four. One of the most notable rankings was that of two teams who played earlier in the year. Miami, who has been struggling as of recently, came in at 18. That fell well behind a team they beat in Notre Dame who is sitting at 10. Also, the Big 12 appears to be in position to get two teams into the playoff, while the ACC looks like it will be a one-team league. Andy Staples, Steven Godfrey and Ross Dellenger discuss all of the drama and voice their thoughts on all of the attention surrounding this first rendition of the rankings. Plus, the guys take a look at what the bracket would look like if the playoff started today!Later, the guys discuss the top team in the country. The Ohio State Buckeyes. Such a dominant season has not created much drama to talk about for this team, however Andy, Ross and Godfrey look at just how dominant they have been. Is this success due to a lackluster schedule, or is this team on a path to another national title? On the flip side, could the lack of competition hinder Ohio State in the long run as they go on to face far more difficult competition in the College Football Playoff? And, what about their hated rivals, the Michigan Wolverines? Week 9 is in the books, and as is the theme of the last couple of weeks, there are rumblings about a coaching change at another big name school. Nothing has happened yet, but the writing seems to be on the wall for LSU's Brian Kelly after #20 LSU lost at home to #3 Texas A&M 49-25. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss what is going on in Baton Rouge and talk about when they think the move will be made. Then they talk about Mike Elko's Texas A&M team and the turnaround they've had in such a short time. It's not you, the Workers' Compensation system has changed over time, and not always for the best. Guest Christopher Godfrey, with a long career in Workers' Comp, including his current role as research director at the Workers'​ Injury Law & Advocacy Group (WILAG) and a lengthy stint running the office of Compensation Programs at the U.S. Department of Labor, offers some insights.  Where a non-adversarial atmosphere used to prevail within Workers' Comp, Godfrey worries it has been driven toward a confrontational system with a struggle for unilateral control. That isn't how a program aimed at making injured workers whole and getting them back to work started out.  Also concerning Godfrey is a lack of funding for the Federal Employees' Compensation Program, making it difficult for injured federal workers to even find a doctor willing to accept them as patients.  In both state and federal systems, Workers' Comp is being buffeted by politics. Godfrey notes the government shutdown, a slowing employment environment, and even the potential for a stock market bubble threaten the system. Economics and politics can build hurdles that trickle down to how insurance companies and Workers' Comp plans operate. Happy Valley is not so happy as of late. Preseason expectations of a deep CFP seem to be of a distant past after the firing of James Franklin on Sunday. Andy Staples and Steven Godfrey dive into how Penn State fell so fast and what led to the firing of a head coach whose team was ranked #3 just three weeks ago. Then the guys look at who Penn State should look to hire to be their new head coach. Should they try to poach big names like Alabama's Kalen DeBoer or Nebraska's Matt Rhule, or should they look at one of the hot new names like Oregon offensive coordinator Will Stein or Syracuse head coach Fran Brown? The guys discuss what options are on the table.Later, there are more hurdles to now jump over for the Big Ten's attempt to get a private equity deal done. In Ross Dellenger's latest article, he explains why USC is now against signing a private equity deal. The college football season is about halfway over and there are a lot of teams' seasons that are sitting in the middle of catastrophe and staying in the College Football Playoff hunt. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss which of these teams may survive and who may be looking for a new coach at the end of the year. Does the losing coach of LSU and South Carolina have to be concerned for his job after so much preseason hype? Week 6 is in the books, and what looked like it was not going to be a very exciting week of college football proved to be anything but that. The premiere matchup of the night had #3 Miami visiting #18 Florida State. Despite a late comeback by the Seminoles, the Hurricanes proved to be the more dominant team as they walked away with a 28-22 win. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss Miami's performance, the emergence of Malachi Toney and the overwhelming Miami defense. Plus, they chat about if Miami will be the number one seed in the CFP and if FSU can still make a run for the playoff? Then, the guys discuss the most shocking upset of the day as 0-4 UCLA defeated #7 Penn State. Behind newly named OC Jerry Neuheisel, UCLA scored 42 points and hung on to win 42-37. Week 6 is just a few days away and a few teams are out for some redemption this week. We start in Florida as #18 Florida State looks to redeem themselves after being upset last week at Virginia. However, the redemption will not come easy as they host #3 Miami. Andy Staples, Ross Dellenger and Steven Godfrey discuss this matchup and look at what Florida State has on the line trying to avoid back-to-back losses. They also share their thoughts on this year's Miami team and what a win would do for their season. Could a win put them on the fast-track to the top seed in the CFP? Then, we head to Tuscaloosa as they discuss #10 Alabama hosting #16 Vanderbilt. Alabama is looking to avenge last season's major upset and there will be no underestimating Vanderbilt this year.
