Dive into the untold history of Nepal's foreign policy with Dr. Madan Kumar Bhattarai as we explore the evolution of diplomacy from the Rana regime to the modern Republic of Nepal. In this episode, we uncover how leaders like Mathwar Singh Thapa, the first official Prime Minister of Nepal, and Junga Bahadur Rana shaped Nepal's foreign affairs and international relations. Dr. Bhattarai sheds light on historical diplomatic missions, the significance of gift exchanges, and Nepal's early treaties with the East India Company. We explore how Karl Marx viewed Junga Bahadur, and how the British and East India Company resisted recognizing Nepal's independent foreign stance. The podcast also examines the diplomatic impacts following World War 2, including the rise of Nepal-India relations after India's independence. We discuss the fascinating roles of Munsi Khana and Jaisi Kotha, the early foreign departments of Nepal, and how Ranas issued different types of passports. Learn about Nepal's first international delegates, hunting diplomacy, and the transit rights that shaped trade routes. We also dive into Nepal-China diplomatic history, including the China-Tibet conflict, and the comparison of historical and present-day Nepal foreign policies. DVD With Niyi Adekunle Thursday 24th April He's Alive Again: The Present-Day Ministry of Jesus 4Many wonder what Jesus is doing now. Is He in heaven simply to wait for the rapture of the saints? Is He watching us from afar as we go through life's challenges? The Bible clearly shows that Jesus is not idle in heaven. He is actively involved in our world. Ephesians 1:20–22 (MSG) says God raised Christ from the dead and set Him in authority over the universe—galaxies, governments, and all things—now and forever. Christ rules it all, through the Church. The Gospels show Jesus' earthly ministry, but the epistles reveal His ongoing work through the Church. How does He do this?John 16:14–15 (TPT) explains that the Holy Spirit glorifies Jesus by receiving what is His and revealing it to us. Everything the Father has belongs to Jesus, and the Spirit brings that divine knowledge to us. This highlights a powerful partnership: the Father, the Son, the Holy Spirit, and us.Though Jesus ascended, He is present on earth through the Holy Spirit. He reveals the will of the Father to us, and as we respond in obedience, that's how His will is done on earth as in heaven. So, part of the present-day ministry of Jesus is this: He receives from the Father, gives to the Holy Spirit, who then reveals it to us. Through our obedience, Jesus continues to rule and work on earth. The more we yield to Him, the more His glory is revealed. You have a vital role in this ministry.I pray that in the name of Jesus, you will not miss your part in what He is doing today. God bless you enjoy your day
Daily Voice Devotional with Niyi AdekunleWednesday, 23rd AprilHe's Alive Again: The Present-Day Ministry of Jesus 3Jesus' ministry is well and active at the right hand of the Father in heaven, He's for the restoring and fulfilling all things. This work is ongoing and will continue until the end of time. The work Jesus is doing from heaven today impacts on the entire universe, government, the church and even into our personal lives. Many of us need restoration and long to see God's promises fulfilled in our lives. Jesus is doing this work—through the Holy Spirit, the angels and through us, His church.A powerful reminder from an old song declares:“He's alive again, the stone's been rolled away. He's alive again, He is no longer where He lay. He's alive again, I can hear the angels sing. He's alive!”The truth of this song is encouraging to us, why? No matter how dark or hopeless life gets, Jesus is alive, and the devil does not have the final say. Jesus' current ministry is about bringing healing, purpose, and power to every area of life.Eph. 1:20-22 MSG, All this energy issues from Christ: God raised him from death and set him on a throne in deep heaven, in charge of running the universe, everything from galaxies to governments, no name and no power exempt from his rule. And not just for the time being, but [forever]. He is in charge of it all, has the final word on everything. At the center of all this, Christ rules the church.Jesus taught us to pray, “Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven.” God's will is being carried out through His people on earth today. As we grasp this truth and yield to Him, we walk in His authority and dominion. God bless you, enjoy your day.

Courtney Eaton's Lottie Matthews continues to be one of the most enigmatic characters in the Yellowjackets ensemble, making her one of the most exciting to track. And while it's nearly impossible to explain away all of Lottie's choices and actions, especially in Season 3, the character is still shockingly grounded courtesy of the fact that Eaton understands her and has successfully established an anchor for the character via her own intuition and instincts as an actor. As Eaton noted during her first Collider Ladies Night appearance for Yellowjackets Season 2, “Lottie does everything from the best place. She's trying to give her heart to everyone. It might not come across in the right way sometimes, but she's always well intentioned.” Does that thinking still apply when it comes to axe murder, ruining the group's chance of recuse, pushing Travis (Kevin Alves) to the brink, and then some in Season 3? Eaton does, indeed, hold tight to that mentality. “[Lottie] knows that the best version of herself is once she's connected [to the wilderness] and that can help the group.”During her second go-around on Collider Ladies Night, Eaton digs into how that thinking influenced Lottie's choices this season, offers her thoughts on Lottie possibly being the one who burned down the cabin, confirms how far Lottie walked over the pit during that scene with Travis, reveals if Lottie was really trying to help Mari during the hunt, and so much more! God sent Jesus to live perfectly, die for us, rise again, and defeat sin and death. He did His part so that we could have eternal life. Our part? It's simply this: accept the gift and live in obedience to Him.
God sent His Son, Jesus, to live the perfect life, die on a cross, be resurrected and defeat sin and death so that we could be offered the free gift of eternal life. The late Paleozoic ice age began in the Late Devonian and ended in the Late Permian, occurring from 360 to 255 million years ago. It was similar to the present day in two key respects: rising atmospheric CO2 and recurrent major ice sheets. In the podcast, Isabel Montañez explains how we can use proxies to learn about the climate and ocean conditions that prevailed then. And with the help of a model, she says that we can also learn about sensitivities and feedbacks of Earth systems to rising CO2. Among other things, the model suggests that when the atmosphere reaches the present day level of CO2, significant parts of the ocean may become anoxic and ocean circulation patterns alter.Montañez is a Distinguished Professor in the Department of Earth and Planetary Sciences at the University of California, Davis.
Questions about whether Jesus' commands in the Gospels were for the Jews only or for the present-day body of Christ, whether God chose to be illiterate when he came to earth, and whether we should only pray for the specific items mentioned in the Lord's Prayer. Were Jesus' commands in the Gospels only to be followed by the Jews back then and not the present-day body of Christ? Why do you think God chose to be illiterate when he came to earth? When Jesus taught the Lord's Prayer, did he mean we should only pray that way and not ask for any other specific items?

On this episode of the Influence Continuum, I spoke with Craig Unger, an investigative journalist and the author of Den of Spies, which is described in his biography as “a real-life political thriller about how master spy William Casey put together a treasonous covert operation in 1980 that hijacked American foreign policy and stole the election for Ronald Reagan and George H. W. Bush.” Craig is also the author of six books on the Republican party's assault on democracy, including American Kompromat: How the KGB Cultivated Donald Trump and Related Tales of Sex, Greed, Power, and Treachery. He has written for New York Magazine, The New Republic, The Washington Post, The Guardian, The New Yorker, The New York Times, Esquire, The Independent, and many others. “Initially, I think, it was very covert, as I show in this book. Everything was behind the scenes. With Trump today, it's almost overt,” Craig said, noting Trump's direct message in 2016 to Russia to retrieve Clinton's emails. I noted The Wall Street Journal's recent article citing Elon Musk's relationship with Vladimir Putin and secret conversations. We then discussed the volumes of evidence supporting the idea that Trump was recruited as an asset for the KGB in the 1980s. This book is a well researched documented revealing of how American Democracy has been manipulated. Tragic and Americans wil now see what is brought to power. Eyes open and courageous resistance is required! Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

A History of Fireworks from: Their Origins to the Present Day (Reaktion, 2024) by John Withington illuminates the glittering history of fireworks, from their mysterious beginnings to the dazzling big-budget displays of today. It describes how they enthralled the world's royal courts and became a sensation across the British Empire. There are stories of innovations like ‘living fireworks', fiercely fought international competitions and the technology behind modern showpieces viewed by millions. Practitioners say fireworks are an art, and they have inspired artists from Shakespeare, Handel, Dickens and Whistler to Katy Perry. But Withington also covers fireworks' practical uses – rescues at sea, attempts to control the weather – while not ignoring their dangers, accidents or efforts to make them safer. This interview was conducted by Dr. Miranda Melcher whose new book focuses on post-conflict military integration, understanding treaty negotiation and implementation in civil war contexts, with qualitative analysis of the Angolan and Mozambican civil wars. Recent developments in the Russia-Ukraine war have seen Kursk make headlines – provoking parallels with the Second World War battle that took place in the region. But are such links helpful? And how important was the 1943 clash to the wider war? Matt Elton caught up with historian and author Peter Caddick-Adams to find out more. Listen to a 2022 conversation with Keith Lowe, as he discusses how today's conflict between Russia and Ukraine can be traced back to the Second World War: https://link.chtbl.com/3MLn9TgZ. Featured on my show today, "The Strange Reality with Dave Emmons," the guest is Nigel Watson from the UK. The show was recorded on 8-27-24. Nigel tells us about his book "UFOs of the First World War." Nigel says from 1890 to the present day, there has been fear from the people in the UK of aircraft attacking them. They would see strange lights and unusual shapes of craft that resembled Durigibles the Germans used. He tells us of abductions in the 1890s and people being visited by alien craft. Nigel says in his book "UFO Investigations Manual: from 1892 to the Present Day" that ET events that he documented, like Barney and Betty Hill, Roswell 1947, and Travis Walton's story of abductions. Nigel actually describes ET events before the popular Roswell 1947 event. Nigel Watson is a researcher and investigator of historical and contemporary reports. He is also an author and columnist for Fortean Times Magazine, Magonia, All About Space, Outer Limits Magazine, Fate, and Flying Saucer Review. His book, "Captured by Aliens," is out now.
