Steve Drake, the "causeaholic", is the guest for this e-retailer conversation. How long is too long when it comes to social media? Jeff and Charlie talk about news that TikTok might triple the length of its videos and whether its users can devote that much time before they swipe up. Jeff shares a summary of a National Press Club webinar by Robert Udowitz and Steve Drake of RFP Associates, where they covered PR firm blended hourly rates and that many PR firms could be missing out on a lot of opportunities by skipping the RFP process. Companies need to look at the process the same way HR would approach hiring multiple people. Get to know the team that will work on your account, not the fancy presentation and flashy pitch team! Charlie talks about the upcoming release of the second annual Super Listeners study from Podcast One, Ad Results Media, and Edison Research. Thanks, again, to Robb Spewak for producing this episode, plus his bonus tagline idea: “Practically Social: It’s Like a Tweet with Two Characters!”
On this episode we chat to Grace Dent, The Guardian restaurant critic, about her seriously wonderful memoir, Hungry. What business are you in? What do you sell as a product or service? While most think they can easily answer the question, Steve Drake asks you to look a bit further. As an example he tells of an orthodontist. The answer to the first two questions may be "straightening teeth" for most people. The orthodontist in Steve's example says his business is "creating smiles". A business that understands this finds a much easier path to customers and profit. As another example we offer the arborist in Portsmouth, NH who approaches business differently. Take a look at the video of his work with the South Church tree removal.
Steve Drake owned a management company for many years. One of their accounts was the National Christmas Tree Association (NCTA). Under his direction the NCTA created one of the greatest marketing events; Trees for Troops. Enlisting additional organizations they have delivered to the families of deployed military, hundreds of thousands of Christmas trees. They create a big event as the FedEx truck arrives. In this program, Steve details how your business can create cause marketing to build your name and reputation in your community.
In this episode Brian sits down with Steve Drake. Steve is an unreal photographer that has turned his passion into a full time job traveling all over the world capturing hunting adventures. When he is not working he is hunting or hunting sheds. They talk about some of his adventures and then dive into shed hunting and how it makes him the hunter he is. A ton of good information about finding sheds and how it ties to hunting.
Welcome to Fantasy Football, in Theory, a brand new fantasy football podcast dedicated to high-level fantasy strategy in the abstract. The 2007 San Diego Chargers were faced with a choice: part with one of the most successful coaches in NFL history, or with the hot GM who had figured out how to beat the NFL draft. Today, we re-examine that choice with the benefit of hindsight. In our autopsy, we'll discuss John Bogle, Wyatt Earp, and definitely-not-Albert-Einstein. Our findings carry rather striking implications for our own desires to evaluate talent in fantasy football, and raise a question that strikes to the heart of the scouting profession... ...
