The Biblical Origins of the Family.Ephesians 5:33-6:1In this sermon, we look at the origins of the family in Genesis 2 and 3, and see God's purposes in creating a family unit, - man, woman, child/ren. We then explore how the fall of man destroyed everything, sin entered the world and the family paradigm of intimate innocence within God's purposes, was shattered by guilt, same and blame, and that led to death, and murder. Why Does the Government Hate Prayer?Luke 11:1-4 In this talk, I want to establish two opposing propositions, and explore the dichotomy that exists between them. The most basic purpose of Christian intercessory prayer, is that God's will should be done in this world. James puts this succinctly in James 4:14-16 Regardless of what we pray for, our prayer should always be tempered with ‘if it be Thy will.' That is such a basic principle of prayer. Maturity, Integrity and UnityEphesians 4:13-16Paul has been reminding the Ephesians of the wonderful gifts that the risen and exalted Christ has given to the church, Grace and Growth and the precious Holy Spirit of God Himself. Being a believer, a member of the Body of Christ, is to KNOW Jesus, to have met him, and trusted him, and at the same time to BELIEVE in him, which will require a basic understanding of Christian teaching. Christian UnityEphesians 4:4-6In this passage Paul specifically teaches us more about that organic unity – the ‘bond of peace' that already exists among those who are truly his – those are are part of his kingdom through personal faith in Christ, having repented of their sins and trusted the Saviour.
