For many years, Jim Gilbert was a fixture in the growing worship movement, traveling with a popular music ministry alongside such notable leaders as Terry Law, and Don Moen. Jim led worship on one of the beloved Integrity Music's series called "Hosanna Music". He wrote the life story for Law, who passed away in 2020. Recently, the Lord put a desire in Jim to help the refugees who are in Ukraine - and his efforts far exceeded anyone's expectations.
Women of Substance with Dr. Scarlett Horton Episode 45 - Dr. Scarlett Horton interviews Walli Daniel __________ Walli met the Lord at the age of 15 and has been in love with Him ever since. Growing up in a musical family, she began singing at an early age using vocal music to serve the Lord. He used her gift to direct Walli's path, creating divine appointments to those who would influence her life, train her for ministry, even direct her to her husband, Bob. Walli's walk of faith has opened many doors, including singing at Kathryn Kuhlman meetings, ministering with Terry Law and The Living Sound, (which ministered the Gospel in otherwised closed doors behind the Iron Curtain, Red China and other Communist countries), as well as ministering as a soloist at Corrie Ten Boom meetings. However, when given the opportunity to launch a secular musical carreer, she chose to walk away from the trappings of fame and instead lay up real treasure in Heaven. Both Walli and Bob are in the medical profession (Walli as an RN, and Bob as an MD), but are committed to world evangelism. Together they opened a private, solo Family Practice as a doctor/nurse team, which allowed them to serve in the medical field, as well as producing finances sufficient to support their family, and build an evangelistic outreach ministry traveling many nations. From small meetings to mass miracle crusades, their ministry led hundreds of thousands to the Lord. They watched Jesus change lives and heal His people of all manner of sickness and disease. They also supported start-up churches from the crusades that remain today. Bob and Walli were called to “dual ministry,” medicine/ministry from the beginning. Always a doctor/nurse, preaching and singing team focused on the end game, eternity, reaching the lost and winning as many souls as possible. In this episode, Scarlett and David talk with Walli about her incredible life experiences, and how God used her gift to create a platform to preach the gospel and impact the nations. Your faith will be emboldened as you watch. __________ https://ScarlettHorton.com __________

Terry Law - The Truth About Angels by Bill and Sandi Griffin
Throwback – story of Terry Law's call to full time ministry “I realized the grace of God…that God had called me, much like he did Paul on the road to Damascus. God called me, anointed me, and he wanted me involved in full-time ministry.” In this episode, Terry Law shares how God called him into full time ministry as a missionary. May Terry's story inspire someone listening to respond to the nudge of the Holy Spirit into full time ministry, especially to the mission field. The harvest is plentiful, but the workers are still too few.
On August 31st of 2020, the Body of Christ lost one of its greatest generals. His name was Terry Law. Terry preached the Gospel for more than 50 years in some of the most difficult to reach nations of the world. His life was punctuated with miracles. He distributed 27 million copies of the booklet titled “The Story of Jesus” in 52 languages. Terry Law is who we will honor on this episode of Lessons from Legends. Terry Law went home to be with the Lord on August 31, 2020. Before his death, Terry and Scot spent many, many hours together discussing deep spiritual truths from scripture and recording this Conversations podcast. Although Terry is no longer with us, he has left us a profound inheritance - how to hear the voice of God. We will, in honor of the greatest man we have ever known and had the privilege of calling “Dad” continue to allow Terry to speak. In this episode, Terry unpacks how to hear the voice of God. The following is an outline of this Conversations podcast to follow along and to study. If there's ever a time we need to hear from God, it's now. Luke 4:1-14 reads: Then Jesus, being filled with the Holy Spirit, returned from the Jordan and was led by the Spiritinto the wilderness, being tempted for forty days by the devil. And in those days He ate nothing, and afterward, when they had ended, He was hungry. And the devil said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, command this stone to become bread.” But Jesus answered him, saying, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word of God.'” Then the devil, taking Him up on a high mountain, showed Him all the kingdoms of the world in a moment of time. And the devil said to Him, “All this authority I will give You, and their glory; for this has been delivered to me, and I give it to whomever I wish. Therefore, if You will worship before me, all will be Yours.” And Jesus answered and said to him, “Get behind Me, Satan! For it is written, ‘You shall worship the Lord your God, and Him only you shall serve.' ” Then he brought Him to Jerusalem, set Him on the pinnacle of the temple, and said to Him, “If You are the Son of God, throw Yourself down from here. For it is written: ‘He shall give His angels charge over you, To keep you,' and, ‘In their hands they shall bear you up, Lest you dash your foot against a stone.' ” And Jesus answered and said to him, “It has been said, ‘You shall not tempt the Lord your God.'” Now when the devil had ended every temptation, he departed from Him until an opportune time. Then Jesus returned in the power of the Spirit to Galilee, and news of Him went out through all the surrounding region. When Jesus followed the Holy Spirit into the wilderness, he went FULL of the Holy Spirit. When he came out of the wilderness, he began his earthly ministry “EMPOWERED by the Holy Spirit.” The Holy Spirit led both Jesus and Satan into the desert for 40 days. Jesus fasted and overcame all of Satan's temptations by speaking these words: “IT IS WRITTEN.” The 40 days of temptation and overcoming sin by speaking the word of God, empowered Jesus, and put Satan in his proper place. Many Christians will say they are filled with the Holy Spirit, but lack his power. There is a deeper place we need to go in our walks with God. It is not enough to only be filled with the Holy Spirit. We also need to speak the word of God when temptations and thought attacks come. The spoken word of God empowers us. We are to live full of the Holy Spirit AND empowered to do good works, just as Jesus did. Romans 8:14-16 says, For as many as are led by the Spirit of God, these are sons of God. For you did not receive the spirit of bondage again to fear, but you received the Spirit of adoption by whom we cry out, “Abba,Father.” The Spirit Himself bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. The Holy Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. This is how we know we are born again, and that we are children of God. If we are born again, we have heard the voice of God. Many people confuse God's voice. We think it should be an audible voice that we hear with our ears. That isn't usually how it happens. We hear God through the Holy Spirit speaking to our spirits. God's voice is a still, small voice heard by our spirits. 1 Thessalonians 5:23 says, Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you completely; and may your whole spirit, soul, and body be preserved blameless at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. Paul, who wrote this verse, explains how God created humans with 1) a body, 2) a soul and 3) a spirit. The body is what makes us conscious of the world around us. The body has five senses: sight, hearing, taste, touch and smell. The body is first in line to develop as we grow from babies to adults. The soul is what makes us self-conscious or aware of ourselves. The soul has three parts: the mind, emotion and will. The will is what prompts us to act. We will not be judged for our thinking or how we felt. We will be judged by our actions prompted by the will. God will judge what we have done with our wills, our actions. The spirit is the hidden part of us that makes us God-conscious (as opposed to only self-conscious). This is where we apprehend and comprehend God. His Spirit bears witness with our spirit that we are children of God. We hear God's voice in our spirits. Naturally speaking, our bodies develop and decline as we age. In our early years our souls unconsciously dominate our behavior - our minds come alive to the world around us through our senses, and our emotions and wills drive our responses. This is why we must be born again of the Spirit. Our spirits awaken and come alive to God so we begin to hear from him. His voice - his breath or rhema - empowers and strengthens our spirits to act according to his will. Philipians 2:13 says, For it is God who works in you (communicating through his Spirit to our spirits) both to will and to do for His good pleasure. Matthew 4:4 says, But He answered and said, “It is written, ‘Man shall not live by bread alone, but by every word that proceeds from the mouth of God.'” The Greek word here for “every word” is “every rhema.” Logos is the Greek word used to express the total written revelation of God to man, in other words, the entirety of the Bible. Rhema is God's breath which is currently and continually proceeding from His mouth. The Holy Spirit grabs the rhema of God and speaks it to our spirits. This is the key to hearing the voice of God. God's rhema is always coming to us through the logos. The job of our spirits is to pick up what the Holy Spirit brings to us as we read the Bible. That is the key to how we hear the voice of God. We have to read our Bibles. When we do so, the Holy Spirit speaks God's rhema to our spirits and bears witness that we are, indeed, hearing from God.

It's a double bill on The Profile this week. In the first part of the show, Premier's Eno Adeogun sits down with Don Moen - the writer of many classic worship songs including 'God will make a way', 'Give thanks' and 'Our Father'. This relentless touring schedule continued for over a decade as he spend time working with Terry Law ministries. In the second part of this week's show, Premier's political editor Martyn Eden meets Dame Caroline Spelman MP. The Conservative Member of Parliament for Meriden has long been up front about her Christian faith. In this interview, Dame Caroline explains how she somewhat reluctantly pursued a career in politics.
