Efter 32 år hittades gärningsmannen Terry Rasmussen (Seriemördarpodden avsnitt 110) och det visade sig att han var en seriemördare. Offren i Bear Brook var fortfarande oidentifierade. Ända tills nu.
In this episode, we've had a few technical difficulties, so we apologize for any weird changes in our voices throughout the episode. We are in New Hampshire this week, and both of these stories have more questions than answers. First up, Lauren talks about the Bear Brook Murders and Terry Rasmussen, a man with many identities who may have connections to multiple murders and missing people. Next, Kenzie shares the eerie tales of Mt. Washington in the White Mountains mountain range. There is a paranormal phenomena that locals call the Presence, and legend says that it's the embodiment of the souls lost on the mountain. Retired San Bernardino County Sheriff's Deputy Peter Headley worked as an investigator with the department's Crimes Against Children Unit. He was closely involved in the ongoing case of ‘Lisa', the girl who was abducted, abused, and victimized by Terry Rasmussen. In the previous episode, #503, Headley gives an overview of Rasmussen's killing spree across the country, including Southern California. In this bonus episode, Headley talks about forensic science, genealogy, and groundbreaking advancements in DNA that helped to not only identify victims but get some answers to questions asked long ago.
Terry Rasmussen's killing spree has been widely covered by news media outlets and true crime shows but they leave out an unsolved piece to a sick and twisted puzzle. Pete Headley recently retired from the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department where he was an investigator with the Crimes Against Children Unit. Headley breaks down Rasmussen's path but also gives insight on a case of a missing mother and children from the Anaheim, CA area. When you hear Headley's theory about Rasmussen you can tell why he thinks the Killer Con Man probably had something to do with the family's disappearance and probable murder. Click on the bonus episode to learn about the forensic science involved in tracking and identifying Rasmussen and his innocent victims.

This is one of New England's most enduring mysteries. The Bear Brook murders, AKA the Allenstown four. In 1985, A woman and a little girl were found decomposing in an oil drum, by an avid hunter. It would be an agonizing journey to identify the victims and pursue the perpetrator. In 1985 the case quickly went cold, in 2000 a cold case investigator went back to the forest in Allenstown NH and expanded the search. Approximately 100 yards from the first crime scene, investigators discovered another oil drum, contains two more children. The pursuit of justice lead to transient serial killer Terry Rasmussen. He is strongly suspected in this massacre and would die in prison, before he could be brought to justice for the Allenstown NH atrocity. Two separate mysteries all tied to one man who went by many names. Listen to the story of serial killer Terry Rasmussen who died under the name Curtis Kimball. This is a twisted tale of false identities, a living Jane Doe and the Bear Brook Four with one victim yet to be identified and one still missing.
A true master of disguise. This man went from place to place across the USA. Could he be linked to the Redhead murders and the Flat Tire murders? Listen and find out. --- Support this podcast: https://anchor.fm/scott-alexander74/support
It is estimated that there are well over 200,000 unsolved murder cases in the United States alone, with some dating back as far as the 1960s. And even if a killer is eventually discovered by the police, some of these cold cases remain a mystery as lack of evidence. The mystery of the Allenstown Four, also known as the Bear Brook murders, first unraveled in 1985 when two bodies were found hidden in a metal drum in a New Hampshire park. Over the course of the investigation, police narrowed down the possible suspects in the murders to a man who went by the name Bob Evans, a drifter who likely lived in dozens of states under dozens of fake names. The suspected killer was ultimately brought to justice for other heinous crimes and died in prison in 2010. In 2017, it was confirmed through genealogy matches that his real name was Terry Rasmussen, and that he was indeed the Allenstown killer. In 2019, three of the four bodies were identified; however, the fourth victim remains unknown. This is the story of the Allenstown Four..... Follow all the madness on social media! In 1985, two deceased females were found inside a 55-gallon drum in the middle of the woods inside New Hampshire's Bear Brook State Park. Police worked diligently to identify these two victims, but years went by without any real clues. Fifteen years later, two more female victims were found, also inside a 55-gallon drum, and very close to where the first discovery was made. Although police determined both cases were related, it would still be more than another decade before they could figure out who these four victims were. An unidentified female child was found in a barrel as a result of a homicide in Bear Brook State Park in 2000. Three other victims were also found in barrels in the park , but were identified in 2019. Authorities believe the child's mother could have genetic ties to Pearl River County, Mississippi which is not far from New Orleans. The girl is the believed victim and biological daughter of the late serial killer, Terry Rasmussen, otherwise known in our podcast as "Tiny Dick Terry." New Hampshire Police are asking the public to come forward with tips or to submit their DNA to help identify this unknown female child.

Terry Rasmussen was an American serial killer and although he was one of the country's most deadly killers, law enforcement suspects his number of victims is underreported. He would target older mothers, cut them off from their families and friends, then murder them - assuming he isolated them enough that everyone would think these women simply ran away. Then we cover the murder of Kerrie Brown. In 1986 she went to a house party in Manatoba, Canada, only to be discovered two days later murdered. While this is a cold case, we dive into the top theories of what happened.Sources:20/20https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Terry_Peder_Rasmussen https://abcnews.go.com/US/timeline-serial-killer-terry-rasmussens-terror-hampshire-california/story?id=69505755&fbclid=IwAR3ZT7kTT4YStAWirDPkNMnKaJ_otXzNOqEngLqXq8AbPG0mB87X0CCQlrM https://abcnews.go.com/US/terry-rasmussens-victims-unknown/story?id=69585534 https://canadiancrimeopedia.com/unsolved_women/brown-kerrie/https://www.cbc.ca/news/canada/manitoba/kerrie-ann-brown-murder-cold-case-1.4859553 https://www.cbc.ca/radio/sks/who-s-who-in-season-5-kerrie-brown-1.4861499“Someone Knows Something” PodcastSupport the show (https://www.buymeacoffee.com/badsign)
This week we talk about Terry Rasmussen also known as The Chameleon Killer. He was just like any other kid growing up with two hard-working parents. Like most during the time, he dropped out of school to join the US Navy. The only difference is the years following his return were nothing but horrifying, deadly, and travel-filled. Tune in to hear how Terry got his nickname and how moving from state to state was just what he needed to extend his years of murder.
What do Terry Rasmussen, Larry Vanner, Gordon Jensen, and Curtis Kimball all have in common? They are all killers. They have all killed mothers with young children. Oh, and they are all the same person. Terry Rasmussen started killing in the late 70's but managed to stay under the radar for many years by blending in well and using various aliases. He died in prison before DNA could tell the tale about who he really was and how many crimes he actually committed. Katie presents this outrageous case to Kristi.
