They’ll give plenty of insight and safety tips along the way to help make sure that no listener becomes the subject of the next episode….
The Crime Weekly podcast is a true crime fan's dream come true. With Stephanie and Derrick at the helm, this podcast provides in-depth coverage of various cases, giving listeners a comprehensive understanding of each story. One of the best aspects of this podcast is the level of research and investigation put into each episode. Stephanie dives deep into the details, leaving no stone unturned, while Derrick brings his law enforcement background to provide insightful perspectives. Their dedication to advocating for victims and their families shines through in every episode.
Another standout aspect of The Crime Weekly podcast is the chemistry between Stephanie and Derrick. Their banter adds a touch of humor and lightheartedness to what can often be heavy subject matter. It's clear that they have a genuine friendship and enjoy working together, which translates into an enjoyable listening experience.
One potential downside of this podcast is that it may not appeal to those who prefer shorter, more condensed episodes. The Crime Weekly prides itself on thoroughness and detail, which can sometimes result in longer episodes. However, for true crime enthusiasts who appreciate a deep dive into cases, this is not necessarily a negative aspect.
In conclusion, The Crime Weekly podcast is an exceptional true crime podcast that goes above and beyond in its coverage and analysis of cases. Stephanie and Derrick bring their unique perspectives and expertise to create engaging episodes that keep listeners hooked from start to finish. Whether you're a longtime fan or just discovering this podcast, it's definitely worth adding to your true crime playlist.

In the early morning hours of Saturday, January 29th, 2022, Boston Police officer John O'Keefe was found dead in a snowbank outside a home in Canton, Massachusetts. According to the medical examiner, O'Keefe had died from blunt force trauma and hypothermia. At first it seemed like a tragic accident, maybe a slip on the ice, a fall that ended in death. But as investigators dug deeper, things became far more complicated and Karen Read, O'Keefe's girlfriend, became the center of the investigation. Evidence that there had been trouble in paradise in the romantic relationship began to surface, but so did other disturbing possibilities. What seemed like a domestic tragedy was quickly clouded by allegations of police corruption and cover-up, and an investigation that many believe was compromised from the start. What if the very people tasked with upholding the law were covering up the truth? Was John O'Keefe's death a result of an angry lovers rage- or the collateral damage of a police force protecting its own? In this case, the line between justice and corruption becomes confusingly blurred. Evidence disappears, witnesses are silenced, and as the truth slowly rises to the surface, it may reveal a web of lies that's more dangerous than anyone could have predicted. Was Karen Read the scapegoat in a larger cover-up? And what role did corruption within the police department play in distorting facts. This may not be just a story of love gone wrong, it may in fact turn out to be a story of power, deceit, and the price people will pay to keep the darkest of dark secrets buried. Join us as we delve deep into the case of John O'Keefe and Karen Read, and help us see if we can get closer to the truth. On February 13, 2017, 13-year-old Abigail Williams and 14-year-old Liberty German were murdered while exploring Monon High Bridge over Deer Creek in Delphi, Indiana. It wouldn't be until 2022 that an arrest would be made in the case, and on November 11, 2024, Richard Matthew Allen was finally convicted of Abby and Libby's murders. A small, quiet town in Missouri. A devoted mother caring for her chronically ill daughter. A story of love, sacrifice, and survival. Or so it seemed. But behind closed doors, beneath the layers of sympathy and kindness, there was a dark secret waiting to be uncovered. For nearly two decades Dee Dee Blanchard told the world that her daughter, Gypsy Rose, was dying. Leukemia, muscular dystrophy, seizures, vision and hearing issues, the list of illnesses and medical concerns was endless. Gypsy, a seemingly happy little girl with a huge smile, was bound to a wheelchair, fed through a tube, and showered with the attention and support of everyone around her, but no one really knew the horrifying truth. It seemed that Gypsy was perfectly healthy. She could walk. She didn't need a wheelchair to get around, and it appeared that she was being kept a prisoner in her own body, in her own home, by her own mother. The story goes that years of abuse, manipulation, and lies built up until they all came crashing down in the most unthinkable way: Murder. On the night of June 14, 2015, Dee Dee Blanchard was found stabbed to death in her home, and the prime suspect? Dee-Dee's innocent, smiling, happy, and allegedly disabled daughter, along with the man that Gypsy had been having a very adult relationship with. But nothing about this case is as it appears to be. This week on Crime Weekly News we're talking about an unfortunate rise in child deaths, specifically from parents leaving their children in hot cars. While some believe it can be an honest mistake, others believe that it's a mistake that deserves serious criminal charges, and one Arizona man is facing exactly that. Five people have recently been arrested in connection with the death of 'Friends' star Matthew Perry, including two doctors and people close to Perry himself. In late August 1990, Gainesville, Florida, was bustling with the excitement of college students returning to the University of Florida for the Fall semester. However, the anticipation of a new school year quickly turned to horror on August 26, when two students, Christi Powell and Sonja Larson, were discovered brutally murdered in their off-campus apartment. This gruesome discovery was only the beginning. Within two days, three more students were viciously killed in their own apartments. The once vibrant town was now gripped by fear, as students worried they'd be the next victim of the serial killer nicknamed the Gainesville Ripper. Last week on Crime Weekly News we talked about Bianca's Law, a law passed in New York that criminalizes the posting of photographs of victims of a crime on the internet. Bianca Devins was only 17 when she was murdered by a man she met on Instagram who took photos of the scene and spread them online - photos that are still used to harass her friends and family to this day. This week, we are honored to sit down and speak with Kim Devins, Bianca's mother, about her efforts towards making this a federal law, as well as giving consumers the power to hold social media sites more accountable. If you'd like to write to your representatives about Bianca's Law, you may use this email template shared by Kim here: Bianca's Law Email Template Try our coffee!! - www.CriminalCoffeeCo.com Become a Patreon member -- > https://www.patreon.com/CrimeWeekly Shop for your Crime Weekly gear here --> https://crimeweeklypodcast.com/shop Youtube: https://www.youtube.com/c/CrimeWeeklyPodcast Website: CrimeWeeklyPodcast.com Instagram: @CrimeWeeklyPod Twitter: @CrimeWeeklyPod Facebook: @CrimeWeeklyPod ADS: 1. On the morning of May 26, 1990, 40-year-old Marlene Warren answered the door of her upscale Wellington, Florida home to find a person dressed as a clown holding a flower arrangement and two balloons. As Marlene reached out for the gifts, the clown shot her in the face, leaving Marlene gasping for air on the floor as the clown calmly walked back to a white Chrysler LeBaron and drove away. While Marlene was rushed to the hospital in critical condition, a massive manhunt for the clown began. And as the investigation unfolded, it was revealed that Marlene had expressed fears that her husband, Michael Warren, was going to kill her. However, the police would soon find out Michael couldn't be the killer—he'd been with a friend when Marlene was shot. But, as the investigation continued, disturbing information about Michael's possible connections to the murder began to surface. On July 14th, 2019, 17 year old Bianca Devins was murdered by 21 year old Brandon Andrew Clark, a man she had met on Instagram and was in some kind of relationship with. After committing the murder, Clark posted a photo of Bianca's body on social media before slitting his own throat, and posting a picture of that as well. Clark then posted a photo of himself laying over Bianca's lifeless body. Clark was rushed to the hospital and was later charged with Bianca's murder, but the photos of her still circulate on the internet, and still haunt her family and friends. On the late afternoon of December 3, 1998, Mark Jensen called 911 from his Pleasant Prairie, Wisconsin home to report that his wife, 40-year-old Julie Jensen, was found dead in bed. When the police arrived, Mark suggested Julie might have died from an allergic reaction to new medication, he said she had been sick for a few days before her death. However, as the police looked around, they grew suspicious about the circumstances surrounding Julie's death. They called in the medical examiner's office and the district attorney's office, both of which agreed that something was off. An investigation was opened, and it was soon discovered that for weeks before her death, Julie was deeply concerned that Mark, her husband of 14 years, was going to murder her. Susan Smith made headlines in 1994 when she strapped her two young children, Michael and Alexander, into their car seats and drove her car into a lake, letting it submerge and drown them both. She was convicted of both their murders and given life in prison with the possibility of parole in 30 years. This November, she will finally be eligible for that parole, but many people do not want her ever released. Rex Heuermann is also in the news as he stands trial for the infamous Gilgo Beach murders.
