As a result, Nadia's clients have seen tremendous results, such as raising their rates, decreasing their refund requests, and doubling or tripling their annual revenues, including helping clients increase their yearly revenue by 800%. Here's what we covered on the episode: Dr. Nadia's Journey + The Doyenne Agency How Dr. Nadia and I were connected by our mutual friend, Niomi who helps connect people with podcast hosts Dr. Nadia shares that she started out in a corporate IT job where she did client support, training, projects management, but not sales When Dr. Nadia started her own business, she wasn't focused on sales which took a toll on her business but then shares she became committed to learning how to do the sales part of the business so she wouldn't be in tough situations anymore 4 years ago, they launched the sales agency with the vision of helping other service providers avoid the situations Dr. Nadia found herself in when first starting out and she tells us, you can sell in a way that feels good and makes money Originally, Dr. Nadia felt a lot of shame before they launched the agency because she was helping women and promoting girl power, but behind the scenes, she felt like a hot mess; she realized she needed to practice what she was preaching After Dr. Nadia had that tough conversation with herself, she actually went and got a job which allowed her to pay for obligations and gave her time to do sales training so she could figure out the best way to do sales for her Dr. Nadia shares the meaning behind the name of her agency, The Doyenne Agency In the past, Dr. Nadia explains that they acted as their clients' sales department and were having those sales conversations for them, but after last year they took a step back from that and focused on back of room sales and sales training How to Approach Relationship-Driven Sales The most common mistakes Dr. Nadia sees is people not having a sales process or not qualifying their leads along the way How onboarding plays a big role in your sales process and how Dr. Nadia has seen sales fall apart because of the onboarding process The #1 secret to relationship-driven sales Dr. Nadia says is to actually focus on building relationships and to create a sales process that works for you A book that helped Dr. Nadia grasp the need for relationships in sales is, “The Referal of a Lifetime” by Tim Templeton Some things Dr. Nadia does to make sure relationship building is present in her business is sending regular newsletter communication, sending items through the mail, and scheduling in her calendar to have one on one time to build or maintain a relationship If you have extended the sales opportunity and for whatever reason, that person doesn't move forward, you have to have an open conversation and ask if it's the right time for them, if there's a better way for you to work together, and ask how they'd like to keep in contact with you A great way to stay connected with people is to send a quick message, a tool I utilize is Voxer, which is a voice messaging app - Dr. Nadia likes emails for making connections and says to make sure you put in your schedule times to reach out We talk about connecting with others in a way that honors your boundaries and is genuine Then & Now in Dr. Nadia's Business + The Convert Lab When Dr. Nadia first launched the sales agency, their primary offer was sales support on a monthly retainer of only $500 with a higher commission rate, now a monthly retainer would be about $1,500 with a lower commission rate Dr. Nadia explains what the Convert Lab is, the steps involved with each phase of the lab, and says they've started offering 4 months of post-lab support When people hire the agency for sales support it's typically for an event, where they're doing back of room service or it's ongoing and Nadia says those people are usually at the 6-figure mark in their business and no longer have the capacity People who come to the labs are those who want to do the sales themselves and make sure their sales process is solid Dr. Nadia further explains that the lab is a $7,500 group that you get for at least 4 months and says they try to run it every other month Dr. Nadia's team includes, operations support, social media support, a sales team, and admin support How having a solid sales system to support you and maintain consistent revenue in your business will go a long way Check out The Doyenne Agency website, and take their new quiz called, Discover Your Sales Blindspot Links mentioned The Doyenne Agency Website The Referal of a Lifetime by Tim Templeton The Convert Lab Discover Your Sales Blindspot Quiz Like what you heard? The Boss Baby star Alec Baldwin is no stranger to playing the boss which makes him the perfect choice to voice The Boss Baby. Who can forget his hilarious right-wing take on Jack Donaghy in 30 Rock? His back-and-forth with Liz Lemon (Tina Fey) is TV legend. And now he can add a tiny baby with a big attitude to that list in The Boss Baby. The Boss Baby tells the story of Seven-year-old Tim Templeton as he suddenly finds his share of parental love plummeting when his new baby brother (Alec Baldwin) arrives — wearing a suit and toting a briefcase — and makes it clear to everyone that he’s in charge. But when Tim discovers that Boss Baby is on a secret mission, he reluctantly agrees to team up with his pint-sized sibling for an epic adventure that might just change the world! The film is ultimately an adventure-comedy about family and belonging. In addition to Alec Baldwin, THE BOSS BABY features the voice talents of a stellar cast including Steve Buscemi, Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Miles Bakshi and Tobey Maguire. Alec explained the process of how he got the role of The Boss Baby. As you can imagine, he doesn't have to audition for parts these days. He is offered pretty big roles and has to say "no" to a lot of projects because there isn't enough time to fit it all in. An actors dream right? But I can tell you he is very humble about his role as an A list celebrity and fatherhood has played a part in that. He says he approached this animated role as he would any other film. Alec really took the time to find a character for this film and says the biggest challenge was finding the character again even when the recording sessions were weeks apart. Sometimes they would go up to 12 weeks between recording sessions when making The Boss Baby. As an actor I loved hearing him talk about the preparation that went into creating this character. He says he worked with producers to find the right voice, and develop a character for The Boss Baby. But before we could get too deep into the analysis of the Boss Baby character he remarked that he realizes this isn't Willy Loman in Death of a Salesman. It's easy to get too actory when talking about roles but I love that he keeps things in perspective. I wanted to know how his perspective on work has changed since he became a father. His oldest daughter Ireland is 21 from his marriage to actress Kim Basinger and he has three other children, 3-year-old Carmen, 2-year-old Rafael and 9-month-old Leonardo, with his wife Hilaria. Listen to the episode to hear what he says has made the biggest difference and who he says is the real boss baby in his family. It was such a pleasure listening to such an accomplished actor reveal some of his insights on the acting process and filmmaking process. The Boss Baby has made almost $500 million at the box office proving that Alec Baldwin truly is the boss on-screen, at home and at the box office. Dreamworks' The Boss Baby stars Alec Baldwin, Lisa Kudrow, Jimmy Kimmel, Toby Maguire and Steve Buscemi. Now you can watch The Boss Baby on Digital HD (Amazon, iTunes) and buy it on Blu-Ray/DVD on July 25th to see just how boss The Boss Baby is. Tim Templeton of Templeton Interactive discusses some of the ways to measure success in a Social Media campaign. We add new content daily! Listen on iTunes: iTunes.ExitcoachRadio.com . See the Index for more on this Topic or by this Guest . Transcript: Bill: What's the benefit of having a social media campaign today, and how do you measure if it's successful? We asked expert Tim Templeton. Tim: Just simply having the presence is successful in its own way, because you're getting that halo effect of being seen as being technologically savvy. So, just simply being part of the social media game is important in itself. The authenticity really comes from the communications of being able to create a dialogue with your customers, with your users. I do think that you want to try to, at least once a week, touch all of your main social media platforms, even if it's simply repurposing something that they've already seen, just saying, "I think this is great," and posting it. It's just shows people that you're still there, you're alive, you haven't abandoned the graveyard, so to speak, nobody does not have enough time for something as simple as that.
Tim Templeton of Templeton Interactive discusses some of the ways that Twitter is evolving and why it is a relevant and important tool for business. We add new content daily! Listen on iTunes: iTunes.ExitcoachRadio.com . See the Index for more on this Topic or by this Guest . Host: Bill Black, The Exit Coach Radio Show - the Information Station for age 50+ business owners. Transcript: Bill: What's the best way to use Twitter and other social media? We ask expert Tim Templeton. Tim: I just had a friend ask me today, I don't really get Twitter, what is the value? And I said, you know, it's 2 things, it's self-promotion, or business promotion in his case, and it's research. So, if you want people to know who you are and what you're doing, you create content, you create blog content. You want people to see it, one of the best ways to get it out in front of people is to send out an announcement using Twitter. Likewise, if you're trying to find people in your ecosystem, your business, the analysts, the re-sellers, potential partners, you can find them by their activity on Twitter, you can interact with them, you can follow them, you can re-Tweet things that they're sending, and you can create a relationship that way, which is a lot easier than it used to be in the old days. He is a veteran executive, entrepreneur, consultant, international best-selling author, speaker, life-long learner, and a man who can help any business find exponential growth in their bottom line. And he does this by teaching the under used methods that most companies and individuals have in their grasp, but fail to use in the way they should. He is a referral expert and believes that all business can grow more efficiently by using the social proof that referrals from previous customers will give them? Take the promotional statement and comments, and use these to attract even more business who are attracted by honest appraisals from folk who have been there before. Now it wasn't an obvious expertise to gain, as starting his career back in the 80's, he has moved through a series of positions developing teams, motivating individuals, and working with companies, all the while polishing his skills until he can with complete confidence claim to be a thought leader, and career builder. And upon reaching this point he has been since been able to specialise, becoming known as the go to referral expert, allowing him to author such game-changing books as The Recognised Authority (2016), Always Positive in Your Business and his big success the international best-seller, The Referral of a lifetime, which is being re-released in over 12 different languages! We all want inbound leads. Often we struggle to convert those leads, knowing there must be a better way. I find that entrepreneurs get very fixated on the latest marketing approach, such as online funnel marketing. Of course there's merit in these processes and programs. However, a tried and true method of finding high caliber leads that really convert is by leveraging referrals from your own network. Satisfied clients, partners, trusted colleagues, friends, family... All of these are amazing sources for referrals, which are already pre-qualified, pre-screened and can lead to millions of dollars in the bank, assuming you have a product offering that provides a value to these potential buyers. Our guest, Tim Templeton, is a veteran entrepreneur (and all that it entails), speaker and international best-selling author. Tim’s books include The Referral of a Lifetime—The Ken Blanchard Series (Berrett-Koehler), 2nd Edition (2016), which has been translated in 12 languages and sold over 220,000 copies, The Recognized Authority (2016), Always Positive in Your Business (2005) and The Entrepreneurs Handbook (1992) Irwin Professional Publishing. In his book, The Referral of a Lifetime, Tim shares strategies he and other professionals have leveraged to build amazingly successful businesses through referrals. In fact, it was his very edition of the book which attracted Ken Blanchard to reach out and offer to help him promote his book and message to the world, because he valued the content so much, as he had used the same strategies to create his empire. Let's face it, nobody likes cold calls. And nobody really needs to make them. The Referral of a Lifetime teaches a step-by-step system that will allow anyone to generate a steady stream of new business through consistent, qualified referrals from existing custom-ers, colleagues, and friends while retaining and maximizing business with existing customers.
