Sometimes your boss is the biggest obstacle to your leadership growth. Whether they're dismissive, manipulative, or flat-out toxic, their behavior or opinion of you does not define your worth. After watching too many women leaders suffer under harmful male leadership recently, it feels crucial to share actionable strategies to help you trust your instincts and keep your intuition grounded in truth. It's time for you to reclaim your power even in environments designed to diminish it.When your boss won't advocate for you, it's time to advocate for yourself—boldly and strategically. In this episode, I share how to get visible beyond your direct boss, surround yourself with mentors and allies, and cultivate your leadership brand regardless of what your boss says (or doesn't say) about you. You'll learn how to set unapologetic boundaries, document manipulative behavior, and protect your emotional safety. We talk about how to navigate power dynamics with intention. By understanding your boss's motivations and insecurities, you can learn to protect your own energy and make more informed, strategic choices about how to engage. This clarity will allow you to choose your battles wisely, preserve your peace, and lead yourself first. In doing so, you will model a more grounded and powerful style of leadership for those around you, even in the absence of support from above.Remember, you always have a choice. Sometimes, navigating a “strategic stay” is the right move for right now. Other times, the best thing you can do is leave. This episode is an invitation for you to consider what growth, alignment, and success look like on your terms. Because even when you're being held down, you are still leading. Your job is not to shrink in the shadows of someone else's smallness. Your job is to stand tall in your truth, build your brand, and be the leader of your life. Send Krystal a Text Message.Want to know how I've created over 1,500 podcast episodes since 2018? The secret lies in mastering solo content creation—a skill that's widely underestimated but extraordinarily powerful when done right. From 2020 to 2023, I produced a daily five-minute podcast called The Potty Report, resulting in more than 900 episodes. This wasn't because I felt motivated every day—quite the opposite. Many mornings, I didn't want to record at all. Yet I committed to showing up consistently for my audience, who came to expect and value those daily doses of insight. Some listened the moment episodes dropped at midnight; others binged a week's worth every Friday. The consistency built trust that transcended any individual episode's content. The foundation of successful solo content is learning to interview yourself effectively. This approach forces you to cut through the noise and deliver immediate value. When you understand your audience deeply, you can speak directly to their challenges and desires in a way that makes them feel seen. The most successful creators I've worked with—and I've collaborated with thousands—share this ability to make their audience think, "they get me, they see me, they understand what I'm struggling with." Even perceived mistakes become connection points, like when roosters crowed loudly in the background of my recordings at my parents' farm. What I considered embarrassing, my audience found endearing.Starting your solo content journey doesn't need to be complicated. Begin by identifying your strategic content pillars—those non-negotiable elements you commit to delivering consistently. For my team, it's Tuesday podcasts, Thursday YouTube videos, and Friday newsletters. Everything else can flex, but these pillars remain steady. Want to learn the systems that have helped me stay consistent since 2018? Check out our brand new Consistent Creators Club, designed specifically to help you show up confidently and consistently in your content journey. Remember, we all have to start somewhere—what matters is that you keep showing up.If you've wondered why nothing is working in your business in 2025, you need a clear strategy. You know what? I LOVE a good HOT TAKE and this week; I'm going to be real with you. Marketing doesn't have to be a constant grind of pushing your services and reverting to this because you have no strategy, so you almost shout at your audience to buy (and you don't even realise you're doing it). What is real and way more powerful? When we flip the script and start telling stories instead of giving sales pitches. In this episode of The Hayley Osborne Show, I'm sharing 8 ways to market your business with a story that feels human, like you and not robotic or salesy. I'm talking about creating connections, pulling at heartstrings, and making your brand something people genuinely care about. It's time to move away from the hard sell and invite your audience into something meaningful. Meaningful sells. If you're ready to start sharing your story and not in a “spill all the beans on the ins and outs of your whole life” kinda way, but more so in a strategic way, let's get it. This episode is for anyone who wants their marketing to feel real, authentic, and powerful. No fluff. Just heart. Listen in and let's make marketing feel like something worth doing. I was recently sitting in one of my Change Leadership classes for my Master's degree in Organizational Leadership, and my teacher asked us, “What would it look like if, as change leaders, we were to suspend certainty more often?” I immediately made a note to myself, “podcast episode on suspending certainty!” As someone who craves certainty but understands that nothing is certain, I often think about becoming more comfortable with impermanence. I've never heard this referred to as “suspending certainty”, but this term struck me, and I knew I wanted to dig into it with you all! In this episode, we talk about the importance of suspending certainty in leadership and personal growth. We talk through the benefits of embracing uncertainty, including: Increased curiosity Access to new perspectives Openness to learning and new opportunities Increased surprise, delight, and joy Gifts that come when we step out of our “I got it all figured out” ego Resilience, resourcefulness, tenacity, creativity, fun, and JOY are all born out of figuring out new things, embracing new realities, letting go of the old, and stepping into new opportunities where we don't know exactly how things will go. What might happen for you if you felt prepared to step into uncertainty at any time? Suspending certainty will help you with this preparation. Episode Highlights: 00:00 Introduction and Exciting Updates 03:35 The Concept of Suspending Certainty 04:03 Understanding the Gifts of Suspending Certainty 11:10 Benefits of Embracing Uncertainty 20:10 Navigating Personal and Collective Uncertainty 30:30 Conclusion and Upcoming Workshop Links Mentioned: Attend my free workshop for women small business owners, Focused and Fierce: Lead with Purpose and Build Your Business in a Noisy World: saradean.com/fierce Watch Shameless Leadership episodes on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/@saradeanspeaks Hire me to speak: saradean.com/speaking Coach with me: https://saradean.com/executive-coaching-services Connect with me on LinkedIn: https://www.linkedin.com/in/saradeanspeaks Interested in becoming a sponsor of the Shameless Mom Academy? As part of Eleanor's four-part June series on maximizing consulting businesses, she's diving into a critical decision point many consultants face: knowing when to scale back 1:1 client work. The unique challenge of consulting lies in its structure - you are simultaneously the brand, the expertise, and the bottleneck. While the low barrier to entry and high margins make consulting attractive, this same simplicity creates scaling limitations. Tune in this week to hear how Eleanor's new free e-book provides a complete framework for evaluating your readiness to cut back on one-on-one work while maintaining revenue. Hi everyone, Carl Gould here with your #70secondCEO. Just a little over a one minute investment every day for a lifetime of results. Looking at this particular diagram, we need to build our businesses in the following order: we need to start with the D, the direction. Think big picture first then sell your business, you'll create it later, you need to sell your business first create it later then go diametrically opposed to the controls, that's the third stop on the wheel. Build quality, build your controls, once you have very high D, very high I, very high C then and only then do you start putting in systems. Have a big vision, start selling your vision, create the quality product then put the systems in. Systems as you may notice in the 7 stages comes out in stage four, that's what makes its appearance, stage four. You need to get through stage 1, 2 and 3 first before implementing strong and rigid systems. Like and follow this podcast so you can learn more. My name is Carl Gould and this has been your #70secondCEO.
