Today's episode of Bardown features our new friends all the way up in still-snowy-in-May North Dakota, Brooklane! We were joined by Chance and Alex, and we discussed their relationship with We Are Triumphant, how their full-length came together, working with Mayday Parade's vocalist for a killer feature, and how growing up in North Dakota drew them to their love of alternative music. We also talk about their newest single, Breakaway, which just dropped and what's on the horizon for the boys in Brooklane. Catch all that and more on the newest episode and check them out so you can say you liked them before they got huge! Power chords and crashing boards. Mikey and Tom talk music, hockey, and anything else that gets in their way. Tom and Mikey are lifelong friends that grew up on Long Island during the glory days of alternative music where our local bands were As Tall As Lions, Brand New, Taking Back Sunday, Bayside, The Sleeping, Envy on the Coast, you get the point. We spent many nights together at The Downtown, catching any pop-punk, indie, hardcore, or emo band that came through. This was not a phase, Mom! Fast forward 15 years and we are still just as passionate about the scene as we were during our girl jeans and youth XL band tees days. Tom and Mikey are also diehard New York Islanders fans, but as we like to say we are #notanislespodcast. As we got older we realized we can like more than one thing and running beside our love for music has always been our love for hockey. We have realized we are not alone in this thinking, actually there are many of us that love these two things! This podcast explores just how connected they are! Decayer is a 5-piece deathcore outfit from Tucson, Arizona that brings the heavy.   After gathering their members in 2016, they got right to work.  Their first Ep dropped in 2017 and shortly after signed We Are Triumphant (now with Seek & Strike).  Just before the process of getting on the label, Sean departed the band due to a change of pace but has since returned to his place as vocalist. Since 2017, Decayer have been doing their thing with release after release gaining traction along the way.  With the exit of Harrison who replaced Sean, they talked it over and Sean rejoined the band and started getting to work on new music.  Sean explains how he came to rekindle those spirits partly due to the formation of his Instagram page “Filthy Breakdowns”. The guys talk about streaming platforms, MySpace (yeah we went there), work life, the real estate market and how hot it is in Arizona.  Also, the band recently just joined The Dreamer Agency to support their passion.   Their latest release “Pestilence” is no slouch.  If you are fans of Fit For an Autopsy, The Acacia Strain, Bodysnatcher, Whitechapel, you will have no issue banging your head to these tracks. Today's featured song is “Dead Soul”
