Profiler is a Nu-Metal reawakening from the mind of vocalist and guitarist Mike Evans. This band is inspired by those who have incited change in genres, arts, and theories. It's a weight of legacy that Profiler is comfortable shouldering, backed by SharpTone Records, its home since 2020. After starting as a solo project in Bristol, UK, Mike stepped out from the studio and onto the stage, enlisting bassist/vocalist Joe Johnson and drummer Oscar Hocking. In early 2023, Oscar departed to be replaced by Brad Ratcliffe, cementing the line-up that would forge 2024's debut album, A Digital Nowhere. Profiler's nu-metal-grunge-alt-rock, call it what you want, is an abrasive distorted soundscape that reverently glances back to those genres' heydays. Profiler is for anyone who misses or missed the contagious nineties Seattle grunge movement or the explosion of nu-metal that dominated the 00s and the genre-bending bands they made a path for.Episode Info:Website: https://sharptonerecords.co/collections/profilerFB: https://www.facebook.com/profilerbandIG: https://www.instagram.com/profilerband/YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCRkvOHvNcLNjI4khMuje7NQIntro track: "Common Flow" by ArborennaFeatured track: "All in Forever" by ProfilerATXMP Website: https://www.atxmp.com/Sponsors:Come and Take It Productions: https://www.comeandtakeitproductions.com/Come and Take It Live: https://www.comeandtakeitlive.com/Bumperactive: https://www.bumperactive.com/Titan Audio Productions: https://titanaudioproductions.com/Texas Metal United: https://www.facebook.com/TexasMetalUnited
ESP was founded in 2015 by Timothy Moss. The band's concept and music was inspired by Timothy's travels in the Middle East and events in the US. The band's first release, “Call To Arms” was produced by Wyn Davis at Total Access Recording Studios in Redondo Beach, CA . The release on Starwest Entertainment Records was well received and garnered industry interest. After the pandemic it was decided to reconfigure the band with top industry talent for the next release. With help from Wyn Davis and Steve Ornest, Tim “Ripper” Owens (vocals formerly with Judas Priest), Vinny Appice (drums formerly with Axis, Dio, and Black Sabbath) and Jo Jo Brown (guitars) joined Timothy in California to record “Digital Soldiers”. The songs written by Timothy Moss and Jo Jo Brown were greatly enhanced with the addition of Ripper and Vinny. Their professionalism helped take the band to the new level the group was seeking. After the release of “Digital Soldiers” a new touring line up was needed. Sean Salinas, a multi-product endorsed artist (Promark Drumsticks, Evans Drumheads, and Diril Cymbals) and former drummer for two productions with Cirque du Soleil (KA and Zumanity) joined the group. The combination of Sean's incredible drumming with Timothy's bass playing provided the solid foundation. Jo Jo Brown's unique signature playing and writing style was a catalyst and perfect fit for the band. Kris Keyes, formerly with Gargantua Soul and Dive Bomber, joined as lead singer. Kris has appeared with his band on the Rage Against the Machine tour and performed at Woodstock 1999 . At different times these artists have appeared on shows with Korn, Megadeath, and Stone Temple Pilots, to name a few. I love when "new to me" bands reach out asking to check out their music out. It's one of the cool aspects of running a metal podcast. Vox Nostra dropped me a DM on Instagram about a month prior from the date of this release asking to check out their debut single "Façade". Upon the pressing of the play button, the riff begins and I got drawn into blast beats and melodic tapping followed by some pretty brutal vocal arrangements. After hearing the entire track, I hit them back asking them to save the Sunday because I had a cancellation. Fortunately they were getting together for practice so it really worked out for everyone so Nathan Buckhoff (vocals) and Jay Ramirez (bass/band dad) joined me for an interview.Vox Nostra is a brand new band, not to just me but, to everyone. Formed back in May 2022, this 4-piece techdeath/melodic outfit of Houston, TX, Vox Nostra is trying to make their way in the local metal scene. We started off by getting to know the members, what they do. Nathan explains how he started is music career with a leap pad learning classical music to using his GI Bill to go to school for music. Shout out to the Veteran's out there in and out of the music scene. Semper Fi!We chat about their plans as a band for the for foreseeable future, to include their debut show alongside Upon A Burning Body which is going down Dec 17th, 2023 at Scout Bar in Houston, TX. To know more about them as humans, Nathan is a commercial real estate agent and Jay is the musical director at The School of Rock in Houston, TX. Jay lets us in on his teachings and instructing kids to adults and how to be successful in that space.Jay's final comments don't age well about the Astro's.Message from the band : “Vox Nostra is on mission to push our boundaries as musicians. I get a fair amount of emails asking for reviews and promotion and I came across one email for a band based out of Germany. It isn't everyday that I get emails from across the pond so I had to check it out and I am glad I did. Thanks to Hannes, he connected me with Christopher Danner, the vocalists/guitarist of Torrential Rain, a metalcore outfit from Nuremburg, Germany. Germanys progressive metalcore highflyers Torrential Rain catch you where everyday life lets you down. Romance, Break-ups or reflecting on one‘s own life are just a few of the themes to let their fanbase located in over 99 countries know: You are not alone!Coupled with the guiding principle of "power meets precision“ they fuse the unfusible: the brutal energy of bands like August Burns Red and Polaris combined with progressive-virtuoso writing á la Periphery. The four guys hailing from Germany create a perfect balance of both worlds in which brute force and delicate thoughtfulness coexist and present these American novelty trends to Europe's stages. We talk about the bands origins, their latest single releases and upcoming album "Digital Dreams", AI and much more.Check out their latest singles and subscribe to their socials to stay up to date with future releases. I wanted to mix it up a little bit so instead of interviewing one band, I sat down with three individuals from three various projects to talk about all things guitar. In this episode I sat down with a long time friend Brien Allen (Bridges Ablaze / Arborenna / Altermind), Dylan Kortz (Living Hollow / Hopefool) and Jon Tadon (Lift the Curse / The Browning). In my years of doing this podcast, of the many things I have learned is that the musicians are nerds, haha. The depth of knowledge that they have about their gear, instruments and software they use to make the sweet, sweet sounds for our listening pleasurer amazes me. So I decided to get some of the best ones I know in a room together to have a conversation about the thing they love the most.I wanted to dig a little bit into each other their backgrounds and get to know where all this started and what fueled their passions. Over the course of the interview we find out origin stories, first instruments and influences. I ask who will todays generations look up to as they did to the great 80's and 90's metal bands. Of course we talked about their influences and what sounds got them into their sound to include what there tuning is and how many strings is too much.We also talk about scale length because inches matter and the thickness of your pick. It is always good when I finally get to interview a local/regional band that's been on the radar for a while. Familiar With Failure is one of those bands for me. This 4 piece hailing from La Grange, Tx came up to The Fieldhouse in Cedar Park to sit down with me and have a chat about everything FWF. We chat about everything from how they started to the "it" moment they knew playing music as a band was their future. We also dive into why MySpace was so cool and dearly missed to the state of the scene in terms of promotion (or lack thereof) for shows. We had a great time and I hope you enjoy this as much as we did. "Death Trip" is out now on all streaming platforms. Akron, OH is known for the Goodyear Plant that makes racing tires specifically (in case you were wondering) and is my hometown. Another thing you can find in Akron is the band Audience of Rain. I sat down with Eric Gutierez of Scoundrel out of Fresno, CA and was also joined by the man himself Taylor Anderson (Titan Audio /Aaerial/Pala) for a chat back in late April 2023 to learn a little bit more about the heavy coming out of the west coast. Due to life getting in the way on my end, this podcast was a little behind schedule to promote their recent tour that had three stops in Texas. I spoke to the band and they said the tour was great and they plan on coming back to Texas and hitting the other markets so I owe them a redo. Eric is the main song writer for Scoundrel and also I found out he is a bit of a foodie (he'd fit in well here in Austin). Episode 100 is here!!! This one is a wild one so strap in. Paradise Refined is another band I randomly found in the comments of the Bill Lumberg meme and I have to say, I am happy I found them. I had the honor of hosting Reagan (vocals/guitar) and Charlie (bass) on their very first podcast. We covered so many topics in this 90+ minute episode. I honestly felt like I was talking to some of my closest friends from back home.Hollering all the way from Knoxville, TN, these guys are some wholesome ass dudes. We talked about gaming, gear, what album's "did it" for them, to anime (peep the merch store) to their music scene and finished off with mental health. They told a couple "Tales From the Pit" and dropped some tasty bands from around their neck of the woods. 10/10 recommend giving this band a follow so check out their links below and stay tuned for more to come.Episode Info:Paradise Refined Merch: https://paradiserefinedmerch.creator-spring.com/Paradise Refined FB: https://www.facebook.com/paradiserefined/Paradise Refined TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@raganrogaine?lang=en Intro track: "Common Flow" by ArborennaFeatured tracks: "On My Own" single release by Paradise RefinedATXMP Website: https://www.atxmp.com/Sponsors:Come and Take It Productions: https://www.comeandtakeitproductions.com/Come and Take It Live: https://www.comeandtakeitlive.com/Bumperactive: https://www.bumperactive.com/Titan Audio Productions: https://titanaudioproductions.com/
Originating from a Bill Lumberg meme (if you don't get the reference, you're missing out), I found GratitudeTx in the comment section. After giving their music a listen on a run, I had to connect with them. They are a hardcore / metalcore faith based band formed in Corpus Christi, Tx. They originated from a ministry called Thy Kingdom Come. They began ripping sets in July 2019 and we haven't stopped since! They fill a space for fans who listen to No Zodiac, Hatebreed, Kublai Khan TX, Gideon, The Ghost Inside, Being as an Ocean, Take it back, and Norma Jean. In 2022, they ventured across Texas and as far off as Chicago. They have released two EPs and aim to release a third in late 2023. I sat down with Adam Matthews (bass/vocals) and Noah Lozano (vocals) and had a blast. We start off by Adam educating me about a movie called "The Green Room" which is about a punk rock band that becomes trapped in a secluded venue after finding a scene of violence. From there we talk about GratitudeTx's music, divorce, life in the church, chip to bag ratio and upcoming tours. Check the links below for more info.I also broke the news that we will be attempting to host the very first "Texas VMA's" for metal/rock/punk/alternative music videos. It's going to be an uphill battle but we think we are on to something.Episode Info:GartitudeTx Merch: https://gratitudetx.bigcartel.com GartitudeTx IG: https://www.instagram.com/gratitudetxchristcore/ GratitudeTx TikTok: https://www.tiktok.com/@gratitudetxchristcoreIntro track: "Common Flow" by ArborennaFeatured tracks: "Believer" by GratitudeTx of their Ep "Deathless Voices" ATXMP Website: https://www.atxmp.com/Sponsors:Come and Take It Productions: https://www.comeandtakeitproductions.com/Come and Take It Live: https://www.comeandtakeitlive.com/Bumperactive: https://www.bumperactive.com/Titan Audio Productions: https://titanaudioproductions.com/
Dialing it in all the way from Germany, I get to chat with an old friend of mine Patrick Duvall, that is the mastermind behind his project "Of The Sun". Originally formed in South Carolina in 2010 time frame, after not much success with the project there, he picked up and moved to Austin, TX and as he said "shit hit the fan many times" with the project which leads us to this conversation we had in Jan 2023 and what's going on with him and "Of The Sun" today. In 2018, Patrick met his wife who is from Germany after she came to Austin on vacation. Since "Of The Sun" wasn't really on the right path, he left it all behind and moved with her to Germany to build their future home (he's quite the handyman) and also to rebuild his project. Now with new music ready to go and a single already released, Patrick has more in store for your listening pleasure. So join the mailing list and stay up to date with "Of The Sun" on his social medias so won't miss a release. We talk about his time in Germany and adapting to life over there, the new music that's in store along with the differences in quality of life in America vs Germany. Congrats to Patrick and his wife welcoming their new born into this chaotic world and I wish them nothing bust the best. Here is a quote from Patrick:"We face uncertainty, danger, loss, and death in a time when borders seal us in a mirage of security. We are locked to devices which constantly imprint on our minds the very fabric of fact and thought created by a faceless legion of programmers laboring for their own interests."Episode Info:Of The Sun Facebook - https://www.facebook.com/ofthesunbandOf The Sun IG - https://www.instagram.com/ofthesunofficial/Intro track: "Common Flow" by ArborennaFeatured tracks: "Pattern Rebirth" off upcoming album "Pattern Rebirth" by Of The SunATXMP Website: https://www.atxmp.com/Sponsors:Come and Take It Productions: https://www.comeandtakeitproductions.com/Come and Take It Live: https://www.comeandtakeitlive.com/Bumperactive: https://www.bumperactive.com/
Par for the course, I finally found the SD card that held our end of year wrap for 2022. We didn't dig into "best album" or "our favorite song" of '22. We spent the bulk of the time just going over what we all accomplished last year and what we have in the oven for this year. Unfortunately, Jared "The Young One" and newly minted "Baby Daddy" Jeremy couldn't join us but they were with us in spirit.I (Ryan), Kittie, Taylor and eventually Josh, got together on a video chat late Dec '22 and chatted about whatever came to mind. Here are some highlights.-Tips and tricks on how to conduct a podcast-Taylor working more at CATIL and got a new sound board-Kittie got on stage and screamed along to Pantera while on some vodka drink and moshed for the first time ever at an Undeath concert-Taylor joined new bands and had to get a new car (RIP red Mazda)-Ryan thinks he knows how to run lights and also got a metal whisk (yes, a freaking whisk)-Josh saved the podcast website It was a fun 2022 and we look forward to bringing cool content in 2023Episode info:Intro song: "Common Flow" by ArborennaChacos Footwear: https://www.chacos.com/US/en/homeSponsors:Come and Take It Productions: https://www.comeandtakeitproductions.com/Come and Take It Live: https://www.comeandtakeitlive.com/Titan Audio Productions: https://titanaudioproductions.com/Bumperactive: https://www.bumperactive.com/
The Xebellian Triangle is a symphonic death metal band from Houston, TX melding many influences of technical and melodic death metal, accompanied by full orchestral and electronic arrangements. Technical but melodic riffs, blast beats, extreme vocals, strong and full string arrangements, apocalyptic choirs, blaring brass, booming percussion, and splashes of synths. The band is currently comprised of Aron Hetsko (Drums), Ivy Lance (Guitar/Vocals/Arrangements), and Hakeem De Hoyos (Bass).Episode info:Link: https://linktr.ee/TheXebellianTriangle?utm_source=linktree_profile_share<sid=1380f7d7-8b81-4cb2-a8f7-084b942ebe84 (this pretty much has links to everything related to us in it)Artwork: Moonroot Art https://www.moonrootart.com/Mastering: David Fuller with Fuller AudioIntro track: "Common Flow" by ArborennaFeatured tracks: "This Cursed Lineage" off their album "At The Banks Of The Rubicon"ATXMP Website: https://www.atxmp.com/SponsorsCome and Take It Productions: https://www.comeandtakeitproductions.com/Come and Take It Live: https://www.comeandtakeitlive.com/Bumperactive: https://www.bumperactive.com/
Stoneside is an independent music project based out of rural Texas, focused on bringing into this world the stories of those who have passed from it. The music is as haunting, emotional, raw and beautiful as the stories that it gives voice to; combining elements of a range of genres including alternative rock, prog-metal, ambient and electronic, the genres and song structures are fluid and ever-changing; they are merely a tool of the messenger.Episode infoStoneside Website: https://www.stonesidemusic.com/GoFundMe: https://www.gofundme.com/f/third-record-funding-and-guest-appearance?utm_source=widget&utm_medium=referral&utm_campaign=p_cp+share-sheetIntro track: "Common Flow" by ArborennaFeatured tracks: "Terlingua", "Hell" and "Pale Dawn" off Stoneside album's "The Water" and "The Desert"ATXMP Website: https://www.atxmp.com/SponsorsCome and Take It Productions: https://www.comeandtakeitproductions.com/Come and Take It Live: https://www.comeandtakeitlive.com/Bumperactive: https://www.bumperactive.com/

This is the final Come and Cast It episode of the year. I really enjoyed doing these live and in the moment. There is just a different vibe when chatting with artists fresh after a set.In this episode, I sit down with members Zach Elizondo (bass), Eric (lead guitar) and Tory Fonseca (vocals / he joined the party a little late but its all good) of "And the Hero Prevails" after their set opening up for Attlia when they came through in early Oct 2022.They are for San Benito, Tx out of the Rio Grand Valley. For those not familiar, that's deep south Texas. Formed in 2009, this Texas rock band has shared the stage with many famous bands and jumped on the Texas run for Attlia's Rage Tour by tweeting at their tour manager (for real?). We talk about their music, past shows and much more about the band. Click the links below for more. And remember, IT'S ALL LOVE. This is one of those episodes that I was excited to be able to do. My buddy Matt Fourman (Deadmouth, Formerly Morningside/Taking On Poseidon) is chasing his music career dreams by trying out to be the new vocalist of Japanese heavy weights, Crystal Lake. Matt has been on the podcasts radar pretty much since day one. From his days in Taking on Poseidon to current project, Deadmouth, he continues to pursue his passion and when he saw there were tryouts for Crystal Lake, he knew he had to give it his all. I talk with Matt about his childhood and growing up around his cool Uncle to why Oh, Sleeper is an important band to him in his teenage years.Matt tells me where he's at in life and where he wants to be. If you'd like to support him in his journey, click the link below. The podcast will not get any money donated. This was a rare occasion for myself as I was invited to Evil Snail Studios (thanks to Kfir Gov) in Austin, Tx to chat with a Rick Fernandes (founder/lead vox/guitar) and Edward Chavez (bass) from Tibetan Sky Burial. Formed in Austin during 2019, Texan natives Rick Fernandes and Bryan Stevens wrote a concept album about loss and the five stages of grief. Tibetan Sky Burial's debut "Lamenta" released in 2020. Both Rick and Ed hail from the great city of El Paso, Tx but found their music careers moving to Austin, Tx. We cover a range of topics from how they coped with COVID, recording at Evil Snail Studios, what is Tibetan Sky Burial and its history, and so much more. I had a really great time chatting with the guys and absolutely loved the quality of the sound in the space we were provided. Check out the links below for more.Pedals are a pyramid scheme according to Rick, Ed is a candlemaker and I claim to be "Government Grown" up.
