Vinny is a film worker. Filmmaker, Director, Producer, Writer and Actor. He created "Womp Stomp Films", an independent film company that has been consistently putting out quality movies and shorts for several years now. Being a huge fan of the "Friday the 13th" franchise, I needed to reach out to him in order to discuss his brilliant fan film series "Never Hike Alone". One of my favorite fan film I've seen so far. We, well... he goes heavily into the making "Never Hike Alone" and the prequel, "Never Hike In The Snow", the concept, the concept behind "Ghost Jason" and the return of "Friday the 13th" alumni, Thom Mathews who reprises his role as "Tommy Jarvis" from Part 6. From the "Never Hike Alone" films to a couple "Halloween" fan films, to his role in Deborah Voorhees' film, "13 Fanboy". This was a great conversation and hopefully when the new "Never Hike Alone" installment is done, he'll be back to talk about that as well. Enjoy!
We're releasing this two days early so you can enjoy your New Years Eve! See you next week!Episode #11: This week, Steven makes Leo watch, "Never Hike in the Snow". One of the horror icons that I've always wanted on. My guest on Episode 241 of The Brooklyn Blast Furnace Podcast is the one and only Thom Mathews. Known mostly for his roles as "Tommy Jarvis" in "Friday the 13th Part 6: Jason Lives" and "Freddy" in The Return of the Living Dead Movie. Not to mention, "Joey" in The Return of the Living Dead 2. We talk about those movies and a few others that people might not be aware of. We also go into him reprising his role as "Tommy Jarvis" in the "Never Hike Alone: A 6-Part Friday the 13th Fan Web Series"; which so far, the first two are brilliantly done. I'm grateful he took time out for me to do this. Merry Christmas everyone! Respect. Support and Subscribe to @Womp Stomp Films . Some very impressive Friday the 13th fan films have been coming out lately, so Paul and Jason (Huls, not Voorhees, thankfully) watched one of them - “Never Hike in the Snow,” from Womp Stomp Films. It's got returning cast members, impressive kills, and a great looking Jason (just like this podcast)!
This episode sucks. Blah blahblah. That's because Octoberama has once again woken from its eternal slumber to rise from the grave and PAR-TAY! We kick off this year's festivities, as we do every year, with Week of the Vampire. But this year has a special twist in that it's exclusively New York vampires! Yes, it's a very weird niche, just go with it. I mean, fuggedaboutit. Open your ears as we discuss a scrappy group of kids taking on a gaggle - what's a group of vampires? Is it a gaggle? - of bloodsuckers trying to take over their neighborhood in Vampires vs. the Bronx. We also discuss Eddie Murphy's wig, Kadeem Hardison's rotting corpse, and other such nonsense found in Vampire in Brooklyn. But we can't "fuggedabout" Horror Business! In Real World Horror, we take a look at a famous haunted house that is up for sale in a tiny Rhode Island hamlet. We then discuss even more haunted houses, but these ones are the fun kind that people build and charge you money to walk through so they can jump out and scare you. We follow that up with an update on Womp Stomp Films and their Friday the 13th fan film series, as well as examining the upcoming Let the Right One In TV series, a new Teen Wolf movie, and a sequel to the Polish slasher Nobody Sleeps in the Woods Tonight. So grab your stakes, your garlic, and your holy water because we got us some vampires to kill!

Monday the 16th is the offbrand version of Friday the 13th, the same way fan films are the offbrand version of professional films. In honor of Brian's birthday, they all watched a few Friday the 13th fan films including Never Hike Alone, Never Hike in the Snow, and the brand new Jason Rising produced by Womp Stomp Films. They get into what works and doesn't work in fan film culture, and how much they've improved in the modern age. Plus, Meg is on an IV sip, Steve gets his Blood Fart Lake films confused, and they all agree Jason Vorhees is the uber violent Kool-Aid man. On this edition of Parallax Views, we take a break from the ruckus of currents events to take trip, an excursion if you will, down to Camp Crystal Lake. Yes, Camp Crystal Lake, otherwise known to locals as "Camp Blood"... the stomping grounds of the pop culture icon Jason Voorhees. Since the 1980s, hockey mask wearing, machete-wielding murder machine Jason Voorhees has hacked and slashed his way through enough camp counsellors to attain the status of movie monster royalty in the world of horror movies. The Camp Crystal Lake killer has even managed to spawn comic books, a video game, and, believe it or not, a board game. Unfortunately for his fans, Jason hasn't been seen on the big screen since his last cinematic appearance, 2009's Friday the 13th reboot. That's where our guest on this edition of Parallax Views, Vincente DiSanti of Womp Stomp Films, comes into the picture. An independent filmmaker, Vincente decided that he'd make his own Friday the 13th fan film in lieu of the official cannon being caught up in legal entanglements. And thus he, with the help of a small but faithful cast and crew, made Never Hike Alone. Now you may be thinkin to yourself, "A fan film? Isn't that amateur hour?" Well, in the case of Never Hike Alone the answer is a resounding, "No." Exquisitely paced at a lean, mean 54 minute running time, Never Hike Alone is professionally produced, looks great, and arguably blows a number of the official Friday the 13th sequels out of the water. And fans seem to agree as the movie has played multiple film festivals and is now getting a web-series follow-up starting with the prequel Never Hike in the Snow. Vincente joins us to discuss how the project came together, his experiences on set, independent filmmaking during the coronavirus pandemic, and much, much more on this fascinating edition of Parallax Views that digs into the trials and tribulations of independent filmmaking. The Give Me Five Podcast: An Uncultured Look at Pop Culture and Nostalgia
It is December, Friday the 13th (the second Friday the 13th of 2019) and we have a special surprise for you guys. About 2 years ago, Never Hike Alone, a Friday the 13th fan film caught buzz around the horror community before exploding onto youtube for well over 1 million views. This labor of love brought Jason into the modern age without losing the key elements that made the character great. After a succesful (and surprising) release, DiSanti is working on a crowdfunded follow up Never Hike In The Snow, and popped by the show to talk about the films, Jason, and filmmaking in general. We also invited another special guest attorney Alec Solomita to pop by to explain the legal wranglings behind Friday the 13th in general and why we are seeing so many 80's remakes and reboots these days. This week our question to our guests is: Alec - what are you favorite movies that not a lot of people have seen? Vincente - Favorite Friday the 13th kills?
