Today on a very special episode of The Grave Plot Podcast... it's episode 250! To mark this monumental milestone, we're throwing it back to some of the "movies that made us." We're talking about some of the horror movies that really got our gears moving and introduced us to this wonderful genre we've come to know, love, and celebrate for the past 11+ years, namely An American Werewolf in London and Idle Hands! Hold on, dude, hold on. We know you're excited but first we have to take care of some business. Horror Business! In Real World Horror, we discuss a Zimbabwean professor who is plagued by supernatural fires. Or has herpes. Either way, f*cked up, right? We also head to the east coast for Blobfest, discuss a duo of trilogies, and try to Bring Her Back so she can Talk 2 Me. We also look at yet another Stephen King adaptation from Mike Flanagan and a former Police Academy standout now on the wrong side of the law. So strap in tight and join us for a big, giant episode 250!

Feliz Navidad! It's time to get merry and scary for the annual Grave Plot Podcast Christmas episode! Our sacks are so full and we're gonna bust down your chimney with a giant load of Horror Business! In Real World Horror, we take a look at a case of life imitating Art as a machete wielding clown stalks a resident of Atlanta. We go on to discuss an update on the Thanksgiving sequel, a new Evil Dead film, and a new monster movie from a former Evil Dead director. We also talk about the new Patrick Bateman and a Return of the Living Dead sequel you may not have heard about. Then it's time to unwrap the film reviews, as we discuss two tales of twisted terror in crushed red velvet suits. Up first is the classic 1984 film Silent Night, Deadly Night, about a young boy whose childhood trauma manifests itself in the form of screaming one of two words and mercilessly killing everyone in his path. Next is the movie everyone is talking about as Art the Clown returns for some holiday horror in Terrifier 3. So go wake up ma and pa and tell them Santa came and left you a brand new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast under the tree!

Who's ready to get nasty? I'm talking really nasty. Like... neon colored goop coming out of your eyes nasty? Before we get to all that, though, we've gotta do some business. You already know, kid, it's Horror Business! In Real World Horror, we discuss the possibility of a Three Men and a Baby situation involving a member of The Jersey Shore. We then take a look at a new show from the creators of Stranger Things, plus a remake of a horror classic (YEAH I SAID IT) by another member of the Stranger Things family. We also examine a slayer sailor man, a remake of a film from this decade, and a new novel from a master of horror. Then it's time to get gross, right? Not yet, young grasshopper, as first we have to get there. And what better way than to step into Nick Frost's Black Cab? Well, that story doesn't end well but at least we finally get to prowl the gutters looking for Tenafly Viper with the new "spiritual sequel" of Street Trash! So grab a towel and join us for a brand new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!
Wake up, babe. New episode of The Grave Plot is out! We're partying in here with all the Horror Business you can handle. First up is Real World Horror, where science continues to tempt fate as they bring a 400 year old vampire "back to life." We then take a look at an upcoming remake of a Christmas classic, a twisted love story from the team behind Barbarian, and a zombie movie with some familiar names. On the subject of zombies, we also discuss a new adaptation from a beloved arcade game, plus a new movie that is DEFINITELY NOT A REMAKE. For our film reviews, we inject ourselves with The Substance and the experience is... unexpected. We also place our bets on the star-studded slasher Stream from the team responsible for the Terrifier films. So kick down the door and get ready to rock 'n' roll with a new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!
Trick or treat! When you come to our door, it's always a treat as we conclude this year's Octoberama with our annual Halloween extravaganza! We've got a whole big bag o' goodies for you in the form of Horror Business! First up is Real World Horror, where we take a look at some mysterious blobs that are washing up on the shores of our neighbors to the north. We then go on to discuss a new adaptation of a classic horror novel, a return of comedy royalty to a beloved franchise, and a new film from an impractical joker. We also examine a new Stephen King series from Mike Flanagan and a new installment in the Trick 'r Treat franchise (no, not that). We've also got full sized film reviews with a creamy nougat center. Indulge in our thoughts on the original classic, John Carpenter's Halloween II as well as the absurd comedy horror from James Roday Rodriguez, Gravy. Enjoy as much as you like, we promise you won't sick! Happy Halloween!

October – the most ominous and foreboding month. Every year, an event rises from the pits of Hell to cast its shadow across the land, spreading like a plague, sending an icy chill up the spines of all who fall in its path. It is known only as... OCTOBERAMA!!!!!! That's right, kiddies—our annual month-long celebration of all things spooky has arrived again! Our weekly event kicks off with Volume 1, Week of the Vampire, where we discuss two films about the blood-sucking, heliophobic creatures of lore: 30 Days of Night and Abigail. Before that, we sink our teeth into a healthy dose of Horror Business, including Real World Horror about Japanese scientists doing everything they can to bridge the uncanny valley and ensure the doom of the human race. Next, we take a look at a weekend sleepover event taking place at an iconic hotel... that has nothing to do with the hotel's legacy. Also, we go over the addition of two horror legends to an upcoming game, the likely unnecessary remake of a '90s thriller, an update on the remake of a classic monster movie, and the unfortunate (but hopefully temporary) demise of a titan of horror. So, crack open that coffin, crack open a cold one, throw on your finest cape, and join us as we kick off the season with the return of Octoberama!
Do you want us to take our pants off and start the revolution? Whether it's the vast emptiness of the great outdoors or the great beyond of outer space, we're ready to dance off with our pants off in a brand new episode. Before we head into the void, we must take care of some Horror Business. In Real World Horror, we talk about a ghost from the real-life Conjuring house who just can't keep his damn mouth shut. We then discuss a new version of The Creature from the Black Lagoon, a film adaptation of a grizzly comic book, and a new film from the maker of WolfCop. We also examine a new Ghostbusters cartoon series and not one but TWO Halloween video games. For our film reviews, we travel into the unknown with a couple of movies featuring monsters who are more than willing to rip your skin off. We discuss the Wendigo thriller Consumed, starring Devon Sawa, as well as Fede Álvarez's sci-fi horror Alien: Romulus. Let's burn this mother down.

Editor note: There were some audio issues during Horror Business. They are corrected for the reviews. The content is the same Grave Plot quality you've come to expect, whatever that entails. Enjoy. Look at me. Look at this face. I'm a STAR. Or at least that's what we tell ourselves. It's also what the main characters in the films we review today think. Namely, the young lead in a killer clown movie who finds out life imitates art a little too much sometimes in Faceless After Dark. We also discuss the conclusion of Ti West's X trilogy, featuring the next big thing in Hollyweird, MaXXXine. Up first, however, is Horror Business. In Real World Horror, we talk about the sex crazed zombie cicadas on speed. You know the ones. Speaking of zombies, we reminisce about killing a whole mall full of them in the video game Dead Rising, and look forward to doing it all over again in a new digital remaster. We also take a look at a new Van Helsing TV series, a Valentine's Day slasher featuring the star of Idle Hands, and new takes on Bloody Mary and Peter Pan. So come fly with us, let's fly, let's fly away with a brand new episode of The Grave Plot Podcast!
Well what in tarnation do we have here? It's a new Grave Plot Podcast! Welcome, cowpokes, to our annual Patreon picks episode, where we let those rootin' tootin' Grave Diggers pick our movies! Today's selections are the shunt-filled bonanza known as Society as well as the eighth Friday the 13th film, Jason Takes Manhattan. Before we get to all that, we gotta take care of Horror Business! In Real World Horror, we talk to a woman who may or may not actually be an extraterrestrial soul in a human being's body. We go on to discuss Universal Studios' new monster-themed amusement park, check in on A24's Crystal Lake series, and examine a remake of the 1981 film Possession. We also talk about a couple of video game stories, namely a movie based on the game Until Dawn and a game based on the movie A Quiet Place. So get a-hootin' and a-hollerin' because this here's the wildest podcast in the west!
EPISODE #82 Twenty years ago, I completed a little documentary, shot on video tape, regarding the struggles and dreams of various independent horror movie makers. I knew then the term “independent film” was a bit of a misnomer in the popular zeitgeist as the movie makers I profiled didn't have benefactors in the industry. They weren't praised or beloved. They were unknown to most. Almost all of them were paying out of pocket, and had no business plan or pathway carved for themselves. There was certainly no guarantee for success and most likely the odds were stacked against them. It seemed their desire exceeded their ability in many cases. I understood that very well as Horror Business was made under the same circumstances. I was fresh out of film school when I started shooting and had nothing but a mini DV video camera and an idea.(Horror Business trailer - 2005)https://youtu.be/TV85Yr61J7o?si=rK_Jxh4dvxRgL_NrThe new episode of Off To Witch, Is an honest conversation (in the tradition of Horror Business) with a movie maker who shares a common denominator with all filmmakers from Stanley Kubrick to Ed Wood. It's that irresistible compulsion that drives you, for better or for worse, through any obstacle to make motion pictures no matter what the consequences.Join me as my guest this week is Terry Reid Wickham, a director who has made truly independent horror pictures for over thirty years and his dream and obsession, that has not diminished, only grows stronger at the dawn of his new project. We're celebrating this time honored tradition with not one but two trips to Hamilton High for the 1980 slasher Prom Night, then try to avoid a supernatural prom queen out for revenge with Hello Mary Lou: Prom Night II. And you thought the punch being spiked was the worst thing that could happen! Along the way, we examine some elementary school evil spirits in Real World Horror, as well as discuss a new take on The Munsters, the expanded Jason Universe, and a new apocalyptic thriller from director Alexandre Aja in Horror Business. The tracks include some of the group's early singles, as well as songs from their 1982 album Walk Among Us, their 1983 album Earth A.D./Wolfs Blood, and the 1985 compilation album Legacy of Brutality, which was curated exclusively by vocalist Glenn Danzig after the band had dissolved in 1983. Welcome back for Season 2! We're kicking off Groundhog Day with Cronenberg's 1975 sexual, parasitic, body horror masterpiece. Fit for grindhouses but arguably the most popular of the Canadian tax shelter horror flicks, this week's film proves you don't need a ton of gore and that sometimes simplicity in effects can creep you out (and turn you on . . .?) It is cold, it is clinical, and it is delightfully weird! The Starliner Towers knows how to give a warm welcome.

We've got two holiday themed horrors, namely the 1980 classic Christmas Evil, about a man who believes he is Santa Claus reincarnate and uses his power to spread cheer, joy, and murder most foul.
