Mike's madness continues with a F13 movie WITHOUT JASON?! It's great, hear us talk about it for way to long.
Join us for the Spooky Season as we watch a Spooktacular sequel. Spooktacular as in, spooky to Friday the 13th fans. Today we're talking about Jason Goes to Hell, a movie that practically tramautized the fanbase and was seen as one of many films that basically killed the golden era of slasher movies. With its bizarre storyline involving bodyswapping, an utter lack of Jason, and a weird mythology, Jason Goes To Hell is almost unrecognizable as a F13 flick. So why would a couple of slasher fanboys defend it? Maybe it's because this is the last gasp of facemelting Practical FX. Maybe it's because it's a true video nasty compared to the corporatized Jason Takes Manhattan. Or maybe it's just because of one slick gentleman named Creighton Duke. Either way, hang with us as we talk about the misunderstood genius of Jason Goes to Hell.Website: https://thatbadmedia.com/Spotify: https://open.spotify.com/show/33D4bKj...Apple Podcast: https://podcasts.apple.com/us/podcast...Twitter: https://x.com/ThatBadMediaFacebook: https://www.facebook.com/thatbadmedia...Hearts of Darkness: The Making of the Final Friday - https://www.indiegogo.com/projects/hearts-of-darkness-the-making-of-the-final-friday#/
We spent the weekend with Jason Voorhees and the 2009 reboot of "Friday the 13th," and we loved it! We talk about 2000s horror remakes, and how this movie embraced the F13 franchise's sex and gore for a fun flick that's better than you expect. Listen now.
This episode's not like a regular episode — it's a COOL episode!
Florencia 13, or F13, is a powerful and notorious street gang based in the Florence-Firestone neighborhood of South Los Angeles. Founded in the 1930s, F13 has grown from a local group of Mexican-American youths seeking protection and solidarity to a significant criminal organization with national and international influence. The gang's name references its origins on Florence Avenue, while the "13" denotes its affiliation with the Mexican Mafia (La Eme).F13 is heavily involved in various criminal activities, including drug trafficking, extortion, and violent crime. The gang controls the distribution of narcotics within its territories and enforces its rule through intimidation and violence. Its strong ties to the Mexican Mafia enhance its power, both in the prison system and on the streets, where it acts as an enforcer for La Eme.Despite numerous law enforcement crackdowns, including a major federal indictment in 2007, Florencia 13 remains a resilient and adaptable organization. The gang's decentralized structure and strong internal loyalty have enabled it to survive and thrive, expanding its reach beyond California into other U.S. states and maintaining connections with Mexican drug cartels. F13's influence extends beyond crime, impacting local communities through fear, violence, and economic stagnation, while also influencing youth culture through music and symbols associated with the gang lifestyle.(commercial at 9:59)to contact me:bobbycapucci@protonmail.com
Welcome to an altogether new show here at Cinema Degneration we are calling "Without Warning." The theme for this show is unlike any other in our lineup. Hosted by Cinema Degeneration CEO Cameron Scott and his co-host, author, voiceover artist, and host of 'The Diabolical Index' Korey Dawson. The theme is simple: Scott calls Dawson out of the blue with no warning as to what the topic of conversation will be...without warning if you will. Scott will continuously test the overall skill and level of pop culture and movie expertise of Mr. Dawson with totally random topics including movies, literature, pop culture, music, art, comics and more. Dawson has absolutely no prior knowledge to these show topics and is going into the discussions totally blind. These shows are a hoot to record, and we hope as much fun for the audience to listen back to. The 7th episode show topic is on the most legendary of slasher franchises with the "FRIDAY THE 13TH FRANCHISE". Essentially you are all in for a deep dive discussion on the entire Friday the 13th film saga including the remake and Freddy VS Jason. We'll talk all about the good, the bad, and the ugly. Topics range from lengthy debates on favorite characters, most memorable kill scenes, theories and tidbits and trivia, everything about ole Jason Voorhees (including our favorite version of Jason), Mama and Papa Voorhees, Tommy Jarvis, Creighton Duke, Roy, Crazy Ralph plus more. Included in the festivities are various rants and segways into topics such as the the Road Warrior, Halloween and Jamie Lloyd (in relation to F13), Freddy Krueger, Cheech & Chong, Sherlock Holmes, She's So Pretty 1 & 2, Real Men, Phantasm and much much more. Join us! "You're All Doomed!"

In Segment 1, Comfy Horror Movie Review, Case provides the latest F13 franchise news regarding the legal battle that was and the up and coming prequel series set for 2024. The Mail Wolf is pretty riled up and Jake the Midnight Traveler arrives with two personal tales to tell this time in an extended segment. We rate this one pretty high on this month's skull-splitting axe rating system. Do you think this is a rip-off of Halloween? We're not so sure about that! There's some depth in the characters in the original we think is not found in Carpenter's classic (believe us, we're not knocking that one AT ALL). In Segment 2, Horror, Etc Carrie recasts the original F13 as if it was just coming out in 1997 - going toe to toe with the Scream franchise (the Scream meta-math is now all screwed up in this scenario).
Stephen King doesn't have much presence in the video game world, but the notable exceptions to this provide some absolutely bizarre King/Video Game tie-ins. The focus of this episode is on four of these weirdos: The Lawnmower Man, The Running Man, The Dark Half, and the CD-ROM collection of oddities known as F13.

PVD Horror Noire is our deep dive in black horror spanning from it's roots within the zombie genre, progression to blaxploitation films, and a look at the state of African American horror today. In order to tackle such an ambitious conversation, we brought in the brilliant mind of Mark O. Estes, creator of the Midnight Social Distortion podcast and co-host on the Scream Kingz podcast. Mark's thoughtful views and extensive knowledge and ongoing research of black horror made this one of the most extensive overviews of a subgenre in PVD Horror history to date.Follow us on Social Media: @pvdhorror Instagram, Twitter, TikTok, FacebookWatch us on YouTube: https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCOyloOb0puVCXDjJ_ZiPYqgVisit our website: https://pvdhorror.com/Special thanks to DJ Cryptkicker for the intro and outro music. In an era filled with cautionary tales, the Aughts pod looks to celebrate what was good about that time. But in the case of this episode, your co-hosts are making a rare break from form to focus on a movie that took all the wrong lessons from the 2000s and ended up as Jordan's nadir of the remake machine. This is the anti-Aughtsterion movie. This is... the 2009 remake of Friday The 13th – a picture that dares to misuse Julianna Guill and Willa Ford and feels like the product of a post-beer pong brainstorm sesh in the frat basement. But as we say on Aughtsterion: It's important, because another essential mission of the pod is to highlight the lessons we can learn from a period that could generously described as "problematic." F13 reminds us that many things from the millennium era are better left in the bin, but if we do not study the time that birthed this fucking bummer, we will simply be doomed to repeat it.
