The Baltimore Ravens got some depressing news when inside linebacker Zach Orr will be forced to retire due to a neck injury that could potentially paralyze him. His loss will be felt on defense as he is coming off a Pro Bowl caliber season. Speaking of the Pro Bowl, the Ravens had five players in Orlando for the game and some headlines were made during the week with a few of Baltimore's best. We look back at the NFL Conference Championship games and how those games impacted us financially. We also preview Super Bowl LI and give our early picks for the game. We dive into our 7s which includes Pacman Jones' latest arrest, the Wizards funeral game, Yordano Ventura's death and more. The show ends with talk about the Baltimore Orioles and Maryland basketball's impressive start. Cue the music.

Football season has come to an end in Baltimore as the Ravens lost the Christmas Day matchup against the Pittsburgh Steelers. Our 7s feature our thoughts on the National Championship Game, Derrick Rose not showing up for work, the Chargers move to Los Angeles, the NFL coaching carousel and our predictions for the divisional round of the playoffs. The Terps take on Illinois this weekend, and after an easy win, should be ranked in the Top 25. We end the show discussing the Orioles trading Yovani Gallardo for Seth Smith and whether Mark Trumbo should come back to Baltimore. Cue the music.

The Baltimore Orioles attended the Winter Meetings, but left without making any moves other than two selections in the Rule 5 Draft. Is that a surprise to anyone? Not O's fans. We are used to these kinds of offseasons during Dan Duquette and Buck Showalter. We discuss whether a Matt Wieters return is still a possibility and the ongoing discussion about whether Zach Britton be traded. We welcome Liam Beatus of Terps Watch and Campus Rush to the show to talk the Maryland Terrapins basketball team and preview the football team's upcoming bowl game against Boston College. We end the show giving our takes on the Baltimore Ravens as they prepare for the New England Patriots on Monday Night Football. Of course, we give our picks against the spread and have our 7s. Scott is still convinced that Michigan should be in, but it is not happening. The Maryland basketball team is coming off their first loss and Scott loses his mind recounting the game. We discuss some of the Baltimore Orioles interest in free agency, as well as which players will be tendered by the team. We are happy to welcome Peter DiLutis of WNST to the show to talk the Ravens before jumping into our 7s and giving our NFL picks for Week 13. Cue the music.

Joe Serpico is all alone this week, but there is still plenty to talk about in Baltimore. The Maryland Terrapins are looking to get two wins on Saturday: a win over Rutgers would make the Terps football team bowl eligible, while Melo Trimble and the Maryland basketball squad can win their third straight early-season tournament by defeating Kansas State. Our 7s feature some of the wackiest talk yet, including some talk about peeing in the tub and teammates playing with each other's genitalia. We talk the Baltimore Orioles with bmorewired.com writer Kyle Andrews, discussing some offseason moves, as well as an inside look at why Camden Yards has no grass. Adam Bonaccorsi also joins the show to preview the Baltimore Ravens matchup against the Cincinnati Bengals. We discuss what is ahead for the Ravens and whether or not the Cleveland Browns get a win at all this season. The show ends with Joe's NFL picks so until next week, cue the music.

After barely beating American last week and down by 7 points against Georgetown with a minute to go, it looked as though the Terps would not be as strong as we thought. But the freshman played big and Maryland escaped with a huge win. We brought on Barstool Banks to talk about the comeback and also asked about the two football players being suspended. We dive into our 7s which includes some potential names for Baltimore's new Arena Football team. We end the show previewing the Ravens vs. Cowboys and give our picks for the NFL. Cue the music.

Episode 9 - Dog Days of Summer

We are pleased to present you with Episode 9 of BMore Wired, our Baltimore sports podcast. This week, we talk the Baltimore Orioles recent success from the starters and the Baltimore Ravens getting set to begin training camp.   Episode 9 of BMore Wired is one that I will certainly remember. It is the first time I have done the show without my co-host Scott Rosario, but he has a good excuse as he has spent three days at Oriole Park at Camden Yards braving out the nasty heat wave. The show opens with our segment “Beefed It!” and I call out Minnesota United goalkeeper Sammy Ndjock for throwing the ball into his own goal. As a former goalkeeper myself, this is the worst own goal I have seen. If you have not seen the video, judge for yourself. https://youtu.be/lRlt5C-Fvqs Denard Robinson driving his car into a pond and the police not charging him with anything was a close second, but scoring on yourself will always trump stupidity. The Baltimore birds of summer, the Orioles, have had great success from their starting pitching. It has not just been just Chris Tillman either. Dylan Bundy, Yovanni Gallardo and Vance Worley all pitched terrific games during the O’s recent winning streak. I make a case as to why the O’s should keep Worley in the rotation with his recent success. There are reports that the team could be interested in San Diego Padres starter Andrew Cashner, and in my eyes, they are the same player. Difference is that one has shown me he can handle the competition in the American League East. The other has been getting lit up by National League teams. Then, there was the short-lived hype that Melvin Upton Jr. could be on the move for Ubaldo Jimenez. Obviously, getting rid of Ubaldo in any way possible is a win for this organization. However, Bossman is now with the Toronto Blue Jays. Good. That allows us to continue to boo him as we did as a member of the Tampa Bay Rays. While they did not get the man they want, they are still getting the results. The O’s are coming off consecutive wins in walk off fashion, and we were there live on Sunday to see Nolan Reimold’s walkoff home run in the 10th inning. The following night, the game was won on a walk off error. A win is a win and when battling for first place in the division, they will take any win they can. This week in “7s” our seven stories around the world of sports has a theme of players or organizations getting themselves into the news in a not so flattering way. Here is a rundown of my 7s: Chris Sale cutting up the White Sox throwback jerseys. He was suspended for five games – only one start because he is a pitcher – but could this be the final action that gets him shipped out of Chicago? Ken Griffey Jr. and Mike Piazza join the MLB Hall of Fame, and I admit, I missed out on the Griffey hype as a child. However, I make a case for the players of the Steroid Era to be included into Cooperstown, including the guy who plays in New York named Alex Rodriguez. The NBA decided to pull the All-Star game from Charlotte over a controversial bill passed by the North Carolina government. The city is saying that no longer holding the event could cost them up to $100 million, but I am not buying it. The Russians really are not making good headlines around the globe as of late. They have been found to tamper with the drug testing that took place at the past Olympics and nearly were disqualified from the Olympics in Rio. Instead, the individual sports will decide who can gain entry. Listen in to what I have to say about the Russians. It will make you chuckle. The NFL and its players can never seem to stay out of trouble. First, it was Ezekiel Elliott allegedly accused of domestic violence. Aldon Smith live streamed a video of him smoking a blunt. Le’Veon Bell is facing a four-game suspensions for missing a drug test. These are three of the dumbest things athletes of their caliber can do. On that note, we switch into the discussion of the Ravens. Going along with some of the discussion above, Eugene Monroe and Ray Rice, two players who are both out of the league, are in the news once again. Monroe has opted to retire and smoke dope over playing football, while Rice has pledged to give his salary to charity if signed by an NFL team. Just give it a rest guys. The Ravens have found a replacement for Monroe and that is former No. 1 overall pick Jake Long. He signed a one-year deal with the team on Tuesday and could be the starter at left tackle. If not, he serves as a mentor to rookie Ronnie Stanley. Baltimore enters training camp with six players on the physically unable to perform (PUP) list. Those players are Terrell Suggs, Elvis Dumervil, Steve Smith, Breshad Perriman, Trent Richardson and Jumal Rolle. All should be ready at some point during camp, except Rolle who is out for the season. The team will have its first full practice on Thursday. Former Raven Arthur Jones has been suspended four games for violating the league’s policy on performance enhancing drugs. For those of you who do not know, he is the brother of Jon “Bones” Jones, who was also recently found to be using PEDs. The duo earns my “Crying Jordan of the Week” as I close out the show. You can listen to all the episodes of BMore Wired on iTunes and Twitter. Until next week, we leave with you with one of my favorite moments as a Baltimorean, the Delmon Young double.

Episode 8 of BMore Wired is titled "Fashion Police" after another not-so-Baltimore sports podcast gave us a shout out on the air recently. We greatly appreciate it. So much so, Scott made Jason and Jerry his "Beefed It!" of the week. Thanks for everything guys. Joe is a night removed from joining a New York podcast to preview the Baltimore Orioles and New York Yankees this week. On the show "Yanks Go Hard" Joe was asked about a season grade for the O's and that is a topic Scott answers on this show. The guys also go into detail about Dylan Bundy's first start, an MVP and LVP for each and discuss some of the trade rumors floating around. Scott goes ballistic about finding some starting pitching which is a must hear.  Joe and Scott were pleased to have their first guest on this episode as The Baltimore Wire staff writer Kyle Andrews joins the show. Kyle gives his thoughts on the Orioles and also has a great story about a basketball game between some MLB stars that took place when he was part of the Orioles groundsk'eeping crew. We also discuss Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Tucker getting a new contract and Kyle ends his time on the show discussing the Washington Wizards. We want to thank Kyle for joining the show. The guys continue the discussion about Tucker and dive into who they feel should be next to get a payday from the Ravens. We also got news earlier in the day that quarterback Joe Flacco will be ready for the start of training camp. Fantastic news for Charm City.  The guys close out the show with two hilarious Crying Jordans of the Week and their "7s" which is a discussion of random stories in sports. Here are the "7s" for this week: 1. Henrik Stenson and Phil Mickelson put on a terrific show in the The Open Championship aka British Open. It was Stenson's first Major win and he broke a Major record wit ha 264 score, meanwhile it was the 11th time that Mickelson has been the runner-up in a Major tournament.  2. All-Star game festivities ended with the AL winning the game and Giancarlo Stanton winning the Home Run Derby, which Scott predicted. Mark Trumbo hit some bombs in the Derby and Britton got the save in the game which was great to see. 3. The most bizarre story of this week might be the news that Daryl Strawberry and the New York Mets used to get it on in between innings during games. Does this surprise anyone? Things used to be much different back then. And we are jealous we were not a part of it. 4. The San Francisco Giants lost an extra-inning game over the weekend after Santiago Casilla balked in the game-winning run. Scott has an interesting take as to why Casillia balked on the play. 5. Brock Lesnar is under scrutiny for potential doping violation and that makes UFC 200 the worst pay-per-view in the company's history. The "You don't think that he was on steroids? I mean, he's the biggest man I've ever seen," explains how we feel about this situation. 6. Sticking on the UFC discussion, there was a fight that ended with one fighter throwing a Poke ball at an opponent after knocking him out. The guys get a real chuckle out of this one. 7. Tom Brady was denied an appeal and will FINALLY serve his four-game suspension from Deflategate. Does anyone really care about the case? The one thing we all agree on is thankfully it did not go to the Supreme Court and cost us tax dollars over some deflated footballs. More important things going on in this country than Brady and his balls. This week's episode ends with our "Beefed It!" where Joe takes a shot at the Seattle Mariners, while Scott continues to let Jason and Jerry get some. It was another fun week for BMore Wired. Now cue the Delmon Young.

Joe Serpico and Scott Rosario are back with of BMore Wired and we are feeling lucky since we are recording Episode 7 on 7/7. Well one of us is, the other had a miserable night at the casino. That story can be heard during our weekly segment titled "Beefed It!" The guys start the show discussing the Baltimore Orioles and the five players making it to the MLB All-Star Game: Manny Machado, Mark Trumbo, Matt Wieters, Zach Britton and Brad Brach. All are deserving of the honor, but Joe questions why Chris Davis did not make the game as well. We also make our Home Run Derby predictions and dig deeper into the Orioles recent West Coast trip in which they finished with a 4-5 record.  We get into some Maryland basketball in this episode after one of our favorite Terps, Jake Layman, signed a three-year deal with the Portland Trail Blazers, with two years guaranteed. Arguably our favorite Terrapin ever, Juan Dixon, was also relieved of his duties on Mark Turgeon's coaching staff, but we expect him to find a job somewhere soon. NBA free agency was a wild one to say the least. Kevin Durant is now with the Golden State Warriors and Dwayne Wade has joined his hometown Chicago Bulls. The guys have varying openings on Durant's decision, but do agree that the mid-level guys in the NBA are getting some serious cash. Will the Cleveland Cavaliers respond? We offer one name that would be a serious game-changer to combat the Warriors' move. We dive into our 7s next and we are all over the place with these seven topics in sports: 1. We start with our buddy Johnny Manziel, who is now being courted by the Arena Football League. Scott has been saying he should do so for some time now. 2. O.J. Mayo's suspension is up next and both say he wasted an opportunity to make some money of his own. 3. Snoop Dogg bought Kobe Bryant a car, and as Joe described it, the car is "pimp."  4. Russell Wilson finally marries Ciara and that means he finally got to get some. The guys make fun of the couple and wonder how long it took.  5. Lionel Messi was convicted of tax evasion and was sentenced to a 21-month prison sentence, but will be placed under probation and pay a nice fine. We have a laugh at the fact that Messi was at the casino just hours before the trial. 6. The Euro final is Sunday and we make our predictions on who wins it all. We have different opinions on our winners, mostly based on the fact that Joe cannot stand the French. 7. Jon "Bones" Jones is the final discussion of the night and makes Joe's "Beefed It!" and Crying Jordan of the Week. UFC 200 is not going according to plan and Dana White has looked pissed in recent days.  Scott's Crying Jordan of the Week is a fantastic edit with Pat Riley and Jordan's face perfectly meshed together after Wade's departure from the Miami Heat.  That is all for this week's episode of BMore Wired, a Baltimore sports podcast. We are expecting to have guests on in the immediate future so look out for that. Until then, cue the Delmon Young.
