Many of you might know of a little game called Super Mario 64, but did you know the port to the DS had some significant changes to the game? Well today Chase will tell you the 5 biggest changes from the original to the port, so buckle up and enjoy. If you want to get a head start on the changes I'll be bringing up in the podcast, feel free to check below and see a brief overview of what I'll be talking about. If we missed a major change or you just want to say "hi", feel free to message us on Twitter: https://twitter.com/BSGamesPodcast #5 Mini games There are mini games you can play that you find by hunting down rabbits. My favorite of the six I played was toy box shuffle which was to find yoshi and those gambling games where you put a ball under cups and the guy moves them around and you try to find the one with the ball in it. #4 Exclusive character usage: You have to get all four characters (allegedly) to beat the game. Have to get 80 stars. Each character has their own level to find them and unlock them. Original levels were recreated to fit the character. Wario uses Flower Power to turn into metal and can walk in the water. #3 More playable characters: You start out as Yoshi and can get Mario, Luigi and Wario Each have their own special abilities Yoshi can use his tongue and has a long jump Luigi can jump really high Mario can kick Wario is slow but can break specialized bricks throughout the game. #2 More text: You actually are given hints on how to do things. In the original it generally did not tell you what to do and was more obscure. #1 Graphical Overhaul: The game was remade so characters can look surprisingly different. Bowser looks very different. He looks more like how we view him today while his head is much more bulbous in the original. The mustaches are better --- Send in a voice message: https://anchor.fm/bsgamers/message

In this BSG Bonus episode Chase breaks down the Top 5 Final Fantasy Games to play if you're new to the series. If you want to ruin the surprise as to which games make his list check out the notes below: #5 Final Fantasy IX Released July 7, 2000 on PS1 Was an homage to all the final fantasy games up to this point. Recently Released on IOS and Switch remastered and very nice tools to modernize the game. Interesting Character design and melds old school JRPG stories with interesting character progression (big hands and heads) Follows the womanizer Zidane who journeys with his companions to protect the princess Garnet of Alexandria from being executed by the Queen of Alexandria. #4 Final Fantasy XIII Released March 9, 2010 Very Modern Version of Active Time Battle Even today, ridiculously good graphics for its time Very Linear for quite a while and story can be quite confusing since there is L’Cie and Fal’Cie Follows a female lead (very rare probably not since FF6) known as Lightning who is trying to save her, her sister and her group from crystallization. #3 Final Fantasy Tactics: War of The Lions Released January 28, 1998 on PS1 but “remastered” on PSP and IOS May 10th, 2007. Takes place in Ivalice which is a precursor to its successor FInal Fantasy 12 Story feels like a Game of Thrones, Dark and Gritty You follow Ramza who is an illegitimate child to the throne who are in a war known as the Lion war. Tons of people die in dramatic ways. Metascore of 88 The game plays like a strategy game such as Ogre tactics: Let Us Cling Together or Fire Emblem but with a vast and beautiful job system and memorable characters. #2 Final Fantasy 15 Action-RPG Released November 29th 2016 You are the son of the king who gets usurped by Nifilheim and have to go through your birthright of power in order to eventually reclaim the throne. Metascore of 81% Very modern version of JRPGs and high quality graphics Revolves around Noctis and his three best friends Some fun DLC episodes added to the game as well as an anime: FFXV Brotherhood #1 Final Fantasy 14: A Realm Reborn An MMORPG from September 20th 2010 Revolves around your character being the hero of light who needs to save the continent of Eorzea from perils such as the spirit animals known as Primals and the Garlean empire.
