Whew! After two long months of scouring Final Fantasy 6, we've reached the final episode. On this culminating edition, a wide variety of my FF6 friends share random thoughts, stories, and opinions that didn't make it into the main episodes. In the midst of my nearly 20 interviews for this Final Fantasy 6 series, one conversation stood out as unique. And sometimes, those chats need to exist on their own. On this episode of A Gamer Looks at 40, we meet Mama Terra, an FF6 cosplayer whose story is so deeply interwoven with that of the game's green haired protagonist, the connection is undeniable and irreversible. A, B, C, D, FF3 / Feels like a mid-rank to meVery few podcast, article, or video topics on the internet get folks more enthusiastic or more up in arms than tiers, lists, or a combination thereof. On today's emotional episode of Retro Encounter, four panelists play a fantasy-draft style game to place the main-series Final Fantasy games (plus FF Tactics) into five tiers. What quintet of RPGs land in the coveted S tier? Which panelists skipped the PS3 and PS4 entries in the series? Listen to find out! Prepare to feel feelings! Send us a Text Message. If Final Fantasy 6's World of Balance is an action movie of moving castles, flying airships and magical creatures, the World of Ruin is an anthology of indie character dramas. Focused more on finding the motivation to do right thing as opposed to the right thing itself, the back half of FF6 is a contemplative reflection of growth through tragedy. So, let's talk about it! On this week's episode, we discuss the major and minor moments of the World of Ruin and how they shaped our 16 bit experience.STARRING (all handles from Twitter) Aiden Moher (@adribbleofink)Greg Sewart of the Player One Podcast and Generation 16 (@sewart) James and JJ of RetroFits on YouTube (@FitsRetro)John Trenbeath (@crazyjohnt) Julian Titus (@julian_titus) of The Stage Select Podcast (@StageSelectPod)The Lets Play Princess (@TheLPPrincess) Mike aka MageORage on Twitch and YouTube (@mageorage) @MustinRyan aka @GameswCoffeeRyan Lindsay of KISS 105.3 in Ottawa (@THERyanLindsay)Seth Sturgill (@twodollarhero) from @allnpodcast Trevor and Jeff of New Dad Gaming Podcast (@NewDadGaming) Yurik (@YurikArkady on TikTok) SONG COVERSFINAL FANTASY VI: 'Searching for Friends' | Classical Guitar | John Oeth by John Oeth Guitar - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mDWYdnPphPsDancing Mad Tier 4 cover ( Final Fantasy 6 - Nobuo Uematsu) by Farouque Raja - https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mey5J9dmLagMy Website: agamerlooksat40.comMy Discord: https://discord.com/invite/SdaE4atGjCMy Twitter: @agamerlooksat40My TikTok: @agamerlooksat40My Facebook: facebook.com/agamerlooksat40My Insta: @agamerlooksat40My Patreon: patreon.com/agamerlooksat40My Email: agamerlooksat40@gmail.comMy Phone Number: Ehhhhh, not gonna happen. :-D Support the Show.

Tomb raider trilogy remastered - just finished the first two games and about to start the third. Love the original series, classic childhood games of mine. My brother recommended the two Ori games so I've just started the first one of those and after a pretty slow opening its now really good, love the movement and speed of the main character. Also went back and finally finished the Doom 3 expansion Resurrection of Evil after nearly 20 years. I remember getting half life 2 and doom 3 in 2004, that was a special time. Anyway, cheers all Brydude: I've been doing a new game plus run of persona 3 reload and also started playing Jedi survivor and another crabs treasure. whenever it's multiplayer with my buds, we usually play Fortnite, or overwatch Beavis Christ: Only the best, baby. DKC Tropical Freeze, FF6, Sekiro Brasop - do you have a game you go back to and replay all the time, not necessarily a favourite game but a comfort game, that you can play and without worrying too much about it because you're so comfortable with it. Mine might be Giants Citizen Kabuto on PC, I can breeze through that without thinking too much and love it. On the latest episode of Bring the Pain, I have a special guest on that is the host of a VGM podcast. RE_VGM TO be exact, and the host's name is Martyrus. I extend a warm welcome to him as we embark on a journey into the world of video game music. Hear our thoughts about many popular tracks, as we get to know each other since this is our first time podcasting together. It truly was great to sit down and talk to Martyrus about what him and so many other VGM podcasters go through as they create these lists. Every one of them have a unique approach to how they handle their shows. From the research they do, to finally putting the set list together, they all give us insight with knowledge into a world that has no flaws. The world of video game music. Have a great day, everyone, and may the tunes be with you. Thank you for the support and contributions all of you make for my podcasts and articles each week. Y'all the real #Painbringers! Patreon.com/RememberTheGame We're back with a vengeance this week. We're talking one of the greatest RPGs of all-time, starring one of the greatest villains of all-time, on one of the greatest consoles of all-time. It's Final Fantasy VI, straight up one of the greatest video games of all-time. I didn't play this one much as a lad, but I've lost to Kafka (if you know, you know) a few times in my adult years, and it never gets old. The characters in this game are awesome, the customization options offer a ton of replay value, and it has Shadow for fuck sakes. There's a reason this game has a permanent spot on the podium in practically every Final Fantasy ranking list ever written. I have 2 guests this week. Episode sponsor, Darth Skywalter, swings by to explain why this game means so much to him, and then a hall of fame game deserves an (almost) hall of fame guest, so Mark McCue is giving me a call to talk Terra and friends. We're revisiting one of the best games ever, and if there's a title that deserves a revisit more than Final Fantasy VI, I don't know what it is. And before we go to the opera, I grind through another edition of the Infamous Intro! This week, someone asks if you're only gonna buy one modern console at this point, what's the best bang for your buck? Do I try to clock the Infamous Intro in at the same time each week? And what's my favourite board game? Plus we play another round of 'Play One, Remake One, Erase One', too! This one features possibly the 3 other RPGs that sit alongside FF6 on the SNES RPG Mt. Rushmore: Chrono Trigger, Super Mario RPG, and Earthbound. Learn more about your ad choices. Visit megaphone.fm/adchoices

Wow, what a game! We have even more triangle talk to share with you, as well as what much of the symbolism at the end of this game is trying to tell us. We had to record a bit later in the week to cover everything, but hopefully, everyone will have gotten their fill of Final Fantasy VI through this podcast. There is so much to analyze and too much missable content, but in the end, I think we gave FF6 our best and are very eager to hear what else you noticed that we didn't bring up in the comment section. Thank you for watching! This is one of our favorite games of all time. Next week we'll be playing Nier Automata. As always, please like and comment to let YouTube know that these videos are appreciated so they can eventually be shared with other fans of RPGs. Until next week! Time Codes: 1. Intro (0:00) 2. My podcast is a chip in your pile. Ante up!We're back once again with the next installment of Final Fantasy 6, being joined as ever by Chris Coplien of the Retro Hangover Podcast. "I PREFER the term 'treasure hunter!'"This week, Rick and Ben are joined by Chris Coplien of the Retro Hangover Podcast to talk all about one of the most important JRPGs of all time: Final Fantasy 6. The final mainline FF title for the SNES, FF6 pushed the boundaries of what a JRPG could be, and set a new tone for the series moving forward; whereas 1 through 5 were somewhat more lighthearted, 6 marks the beginnings of the FF series tackling heavier, more mature topics and themes. In this installment, we cover all of the development history, talk about thematic material, the phenomenal soundtrack, and much more. This episode covers the story up to meeting Banon for the first time. This was the winner of our Summer JRPG Poll, so we also must thank you, the listeners, for voting!MORE RETRO HANGOVER: https://linktr.ee/retrohangover PATREON: www.patreon.com/pixelprojectradioDISCORD: https://discord.gg/Rfjx2ptWP5TWITTER: @pixelprojectpodINSTAGRAM: @pixelprojectradiopodcastThank you for listening! Alright amokoj, you all knew it would happen, this is the most famous part of Final Fantasy 6: The Opera. I've been doing all the voices in the game so far, and now you get to hear me do all the singing in the game too. Also, like, after the opera we go to a factory and learn about the history of espers and stuff. Sure, sure. Plot or whatever. Today's FF6 music suggestion from Balance and Ruin is not one, but two different songs! The Nightmare Oath by OA, Moonlapse, BardicKnowledge, Laura Intravia, and feat. DragonAvenger is based on just the overture portion of the opera at the beginning. The Impresario by Jake Kaufman and Tommy Pedrini is a full 70s-style rock opera track that's absolutely amazing. This isn't some of my favorite FF6 music, it's some of my favorite any music at all. Get ready for those socks to be knocked off. And of course check the Patreon if you like.

Final Fantasy VI returns! A few years ago I did an episode on Final Fantasy VI with my friend Jamie. I'm here again talking about this amazing game because I received a review copy of a new FF6 book by Sebastian Deken from Boss Fight Books! To cover this game thoroughly I invited Brian from the Taste of Dragons podcast on to talk about the game and some of it's deeper aspects. I tried covering the game in a different way than I normally do so please let me know your thoughts on this looser style format!
