After 5 weeks of travelling around Europe, I returned home to my beautiful 5 year old Cavoodle, Nessie, and guess what the first thing I did was? I got out my treat pouch and went straight back to basics with her loose lead walking. Why? Because she just spent the last month pulling on the lead when she went for walks with my parents which is completely OKAY. I'm not upset or irritated at the regression. In fact, I am just so grateful I got to go on a holiday and have her so well looked after and the fact of the matter is, as a Cavoodle parent, you have to accept that there WILL be minor setbacks in your Cavoodle's training and behaviour over the course of their life. Toilet Training should be one of everyone's top goal when they bring their Cavoodle home. The good news is, a puppy can be toilet trained within a few short weeks but they can also have accidents for years to come. It all depends on what plan you follow when you bring your puppy home and what your understanding of being "toilet trained" actually looks like. When a family is getting a new puppy, one of the first questions they ask a Breeder is "how big will my puppy get?". Now, while I do believe this should be one of the last questions you should ask (and should instead be asking about the temperament training the Breeder does through their curriculum program), I DO understand why this is an important factor to many families. However, instead of asking for the weight prediction, I recommend asking the Breeder the following question instead to give you a more reliable indication on how big your puppy will grow to.
