It's time to try new and different things! It's the first day of March. The freshness and newness of a new season feel great! The Camellia buds are swelling, daffodils are opening up, and the crocus lift their heads to welcome us back into the garden. I took a break from podcasting. After a moment to gather my thoughts, I had a few speaking engagements here and there, traveled to some exciting places, and promoted my books. I am easing back into the podcast and the garden as well. I recently chatted with the two guys Travis and John of Sol Soils. March is the perfect time to begin transplanting plants that need more rooting space. Listen in to see why Sol Soils might be a resource to consider trying. Precious was pulling me as she shared how exciting it is to try a new product for our indoor jungle - Thank goodness there was no squeaky toy nearby. The world has changed, my life has changed, the garden has changed and there is so much to see, do, and chat about. Why not pour a cup of tea and join me?

March 25 - 27th the Westin Peachtree Plaza Hotel will provide a place for anyone who loves flowers and is interested in supporting Black women in floristry. Black Flora has arrived. This book means so much to me. Long overdue, the complied stories of choices made, healing, and simply pivoting in place is a gift to my community. Seeing others who look like you and are enjoying what they do can be quite meaningful. As the journey continues, I have found many other Black entrepreneurs that are floral farmers, florists, events specialists, and more. It is not hard to take the additional step and seek out a small Black flower farmer and support them. Taking a longer look and identifying a Black florist to use at any event would help sustain a small budding business. Black Flora has opened my eyes as an author and future flower farmer, to simply imagine the possibilities and allow nothing to get in my way. You can order Black Flora here. I am proud of the diverse communities that will benefit from this book, as well as the other books that enlighten all of us to embrace diversity, equity, and inclusion in all walks of life. I also co-authored another book, The Urban Garden - 101 Ways to Grow Food and Beauty in the City. Kathy Jentz and I compiled the concepts we have seen or experienced in our collective years of gardening in urban settings. We are grateful to offer tips to inspire or at least cause you to think about the possibilities of beautifying your space. The garden is ever-evolving, which keeps it interesting. As we celebrate Women's History month, consider supporting two local women who love to share the joys of gardening. Thank you Quarto Books for supporting a book written by Kathy Jentz and myself. Our book is, The Urban Garden: 101 Ways to Grow Food and Beauty In The City. This book shares our experiences and ideas about making the most of your garden. You can pre-order this book for gifting, as it is not available until Spring 2022. My second book, Black Flora, will also be available in the Spring of 2022. I found such joy in meeting the unknown and well-known members of the flower-loving family that know the meaning of having flowers in your world. More about that later. Today I am simply Thankful and wanted to share my joy, as I return to the airways! Happy Thanksgiving!
