Our past. The person we were before. Or maybe it's the person we are now that we want to be different. We want so much to change; we want to live spiritually free, but we can't do it all by ourselves. Jesus is the only way, He is the only path, to full and complete spiritual freedom.

What would happen if we fully embraced the transformation that occurs when we are born again in the Spirit? So often we think of the salvation experience as just that -- deliverance from sin and taking our place as sons and daughters of the Most High. It's so much more than that, though. God wants us to share this love He has shown toward us, and we should be excited to share it. As we look into a new year, do you want to be excited for Jesus?

Things get different, though, when it comes to doing something that we otherwise couldn't do. That requires a deep-rooted faith knowing that all things are possible with God. We just need to believe God will act when we step into a relationship with Him and operate according to His will revealed to us. Would you like to live in spiritual confidence? What do you do when you really want something? Don't we work diligently to achieve what we want? Don't we strive to do more? What about our lives as Christians? We should speak of our faith with boldness and conviction. We should act in the expectation that God is going to move on a situation. We must approach God in the right manner and be persistent in our pursuit of God.

People often look at adversity and trials and want to blame God for those hard times. When we look at the man Job in the Bible, we see a man who was no stranger to trials. Job learned through his experience to remain focused on giving God praise no matter what, and trusting God for His divine intervention and Providence in his life. We are no different. Whatever we may go through in life, we still should stay focused on God and give Him glory.

Do you have the mindset of a slave… or a servant? God may be touching your heart just to start a relationship and ensure your salvation. He may be calling you into a new ministry. We have a choice, and where our treasure is our heart will be also. Do you just "go through the motions", or do you serve God because you love Him?

Jesus' disciples found that choosing to follow Him resulted in trials and hard times coming upon them. It's no different today: the more we choose to serve God, the more we will encounter troubles for our beliefs. Take heart and stay the course, for the blessings of God for obediance to Him are unlimited!

Today the norm of the world is to live according to fleshly, ungodly desires. If we live Godly lives, then, we may be seen as radical. Not violent or out of order, but strange, odd, and peculiar. Do you want to be different? Do you want to live for God and share in His blessings? Live a radical life for God!

What an awesome love God has for all of us! God wants us to experience His love and have a relationship with Him, and He wants us to share that with everyone else. We often see the negatives in others and ourselves as well; we often feel that we need to address the problems in other people's lives so they can have a "right" relationship with God. All we have to do, however, is just to love them and let God mend the hearts of others ... and us too.

When we first understand the depth of God's love for us, when we come to the understanding that all of our past is laid at the Cross, and when we understand that we are redeemed by the blood of Jesus Christ, we find this a very relieving and exciting time in our lives. We are on fire to serve the Kingdom. Too quickly, though, our interests get distracted from those things that are good and worthy, and we find ourselves back in some of the same mess we were in before. If you feel you've lost your love for the Father, if the things of the world pique your interest more than those of the Kingdom, or if you feel God's blessing and favor are absent in your life, then it's time to turn back to God and come back to the Father's house. Get your heart on God and keep your focus on Him!
