Is Wells joining the Air Force, or is TikTok just teaching him how to steal an F-16 for funsies? Meanwhile, Brandi's back is busted (horse girl probs), but she's powering through with her new healthy habits: ozone therapy, NAD drips, and red light. Wells, fresh off celebrating an anniversary with Sarah, is realizing ditching booze might be his secret weapon for running faster and living longer. Bastions of health, people! Once they finally get into the episode, Wells raves about Broadway's absurdist new fave Oh, Mary! and the incredible, Jinx Monsoon. Brandi's watching Black Rabbit (Jason Bateman, what are we doing?), The Morning Show's new season (but not loving it), and she's unapologetically glued to Dancing with the Stars... though she's got some thoughts about the scoring. Add in Wells' latest Netflix binges, Wayward and House of Guinness, and you've got another classic YFT rollercoaster. Oh, and Wells has officially become an “annoying runner guy.” So if you see someone who looks like him in a running belt and dumb athletic sunglasses... That's your boy. Enjoy, YFT'ers! It's just Kevin and Andrew this week, and it's a fun one. The guys talk Marvel Zombies, the Alien: Earth finale, the season premiere of Gen V and Wayward, with all of that book ended by some wonderful tangents!! We give you a rare look into what happens before we start recording a show, which is usually just senseless babbling. This time, though, the conversation was productive so it went into the show! Talking about a show that is well over 20 years old could come across as dated, but Battlestar Galactica is a master class in storytelling, character building, and budget management. Honestly, if you haven't seen it before, you owe it to yourself to give it a watch. Get past the sci-fi-ness of it and settle into the DEEP social story. You will not be disappointed. Getting into more current content, Kevin talks about the first two episodes of the animated series, Marvel Zombies. It's a big swing to take, and it could be argued that they whiffed a bit. It's beautiful and gory, but a lot of the voice acting misses the mark and that story could be more adult, but leans into silliness at times. Think of it like the MCU version of Shazam. There's potential, and it's not bad, but it's not as good as it could be. Next up, the guys move into things that kind of kicked butt and talk about the Alien: Earth finale. Some of the perdictions made in our last episode came to fruition, and the show ends up on a very solid note that leaves it wide open for a promising season 2. Overall, it's a solid ending to an excellent season of television. The guys then move on to quickly discuss this new season of Gen V, which is off to a rockin' start. Full disclosure, and it should be obvious, if you didn't like The Boys or Gen V season 1, this is more of the same, so it could offend if you are faint of heart. But if you liked those two shows, then you are in luck. This starts off great and is unravelling some great surprises that are worth watching for. With the episode winding down, Kevin talks about the show Wayward on Netflix. It stars Toni Collette and pretty much no one else. The show is meant to be a suspense/horror show but seems to lack all of the punch that Netflix shows in the Mike Flanagan era. This leads the guys to their final tangent, the future of Mike Flanagan. It may be mostly speculation, but it's a lot of fun! As always, thank you for watching. If you haven't already, don't forget to Like & Subscribe. We love new viewers! Also, leave us comments and let is know how we are doing and what we can be doing better. Enjoy the episode and have a great week! Every Christ-following parent dreams of raising a daughter who clings tightly to her faith. But what happens when she doesn't? What if she begins to question, rebel, or even walk away from the truth you've poured into her? In this week's episode of the Raising Godly Girls Podcast, co-hosts Rachael Culpepper and Natalie Ambrose step into one of the hardest realities of Christian parenting: the prodigal season. With honesty and grace, they talk about what it looks like to parent with firm love while keeping the door open with compassion and forgiveness. Drawing from the parable of the prodigal son in Luke 15 and reminders throughout Scripture, Rachael and Natalie encourage moms to: Address sin with truth and grace, not avoidance or outbursts. Speak to their daughter's identity in Christ, rather than letting her mistakes define her. Pray persistently, trusting that God is faithful to pursue her heart even when she has turned away. This conversation is both sobering and hope-filled. If you are in a season of heartbreak over your daughter's choices, you'll be reminded that you are not alone—and that God equips you with wisdom, love, and endurance to walk through it. Because at the end of the day, your daughter's story is still being written, and God is the author who never gives up on His children. Scripture References: Luke 15:11–32 John 8:11 (“Go and sin no more”) Colossians 3:12 Matthew 5:14–16 Jude 1:1 1 Peter 5:6–7 Explore more resources to raise girls rooted in Christ at raisinggodlygirls.com. Meanwhile, we take a look at the phone hacking scandal along with David Tennant in The Hack on ITV, and let Toni Colette scare the willies out of us in Wayward on Netflix.

emocleW, emocleW, emocleW to the Distraction Pieces Podcast with Scroobius Pip!This is your bonus FRIDAY REWIND episode! Today, we catch up with Mae Martin, originally episode 314 from 2020-02-26.Original writeup below:A tremendous meetup of Pip and Mae, and dare I say a long overdue one at that… You'll get to hear all about Mae in the greater scale and sense, from back in the day to… now… in the day…? Yeah that sounds fine to me… But yeah, everything from then to now, including what they are doing THIS VERY MOMENT, and by that of course I mean starring in the simultaneously hilariously funny and brutally honest Feel Good, which looks set to blow up worldwide. So expect to hear it all from how to view the series (best served binged), the weirdness of editing trailers, getting the correct audience, Canada (Oh Canada), the process of getting a set together, Mae the character and Mae the person, sex scenes and writing a proudly LGBT show, humanising addition, the casting process, digging deep into personal history and the transition from Canada to London but SO MUCH MORE of course. “You must not testify falsely against your neighbor.” (Exodus 20:16 NLT) Strictly speaking, this commandment originally focused on perjuring yourself in a judicial trial. Yet it certainly applies to lying in general—something the Bible addresses in no uncertain terms. In Proverbs 6:16–19, God says, “There are six things the Lord hates—no, seven things he detests: haughty eyes, a lying tongue, hands that kill the innocent, a heart that plots evil, feet that race to do wrong, a false witness who pours out lies, a person who sows discord in a family” (NLT). Of the seven things God hates, two of them involve lying and falsehood. Why does God hate them? Because lying is incredibly destructive. Proverbs 25:18 says, “Telling lies about others is as harmful as hitting them with an ax, wounding them with a sword, or shooting them with a sharp arrow” (NLT). Lying is insidious because we can convince ourselves that it’s a victimless crime. We lie to save face. We lie to keep from offending others. We lie because it’s more convenient than telling the messy, complicated truth. But those can’t be harmless offenses because they violate God’s ninth commandment. That commandment also covers gossip and backbiting. Gossip topples governments. It wrecks marriages. It ruins careers. It destroys reputations. It causes nightmares. It spawns suspicions. It generates grief. That’s why Proverbs 20:19 warns, “A gossip goes around telling secrets, so don’t hang around with chatterers” (NLT). That includes seemingly well-meaning Christians who share details about other people’s lives and say, “This is just so we know how to pray for them.” The commandment covers flattery, one of the most subtle forms of deceit. Someone once said that flattery is saying things to a person’s face that you would never say behind their back. It’s tempting to use flattery to get something from someone. But if you don’t sincerely mean what you say, it’s just another form of lying. The commandment applies to exaggeration. Some people argue that exaggeration is simply a storyteller’s tool—a harmless trick to make the mundane seem a little more interesting. In other words, never let the truth get in the way of a good story. The problem with exaggeration is that if we can’t be trusted to be accurate and truthful in the minor details, how can we be trusted when it comes to the major ones? The ninth commandment presents a challenge for many people because it involves the tongue. James wrote, “We can make a large horse go wherever we want by means of a small bit in its mouth. And a small rudder makes a huge ship turn wherever the pilot chooses to go, even though the winds are strong. In the same way, the tongue is a small thing that makes grand speeches. But a tiny spark can set a great forest on fire. And among all the parts of the body, the tongue is a flame of fire. It is a whole world of wickedness, corrupting your entire body. It can set your whole life on fire, for it is set on fire by hell itself. People can tame all kinds of animals, birds, reptiles, and fish, but no one can tame the tongue” (James 3:3–8 NLT). But that should never stop us from trying—especially where the ninth commandment is concerned. The titular characters in Frederick Buechner's historical novels Godric (1980) and Brendan (1987) are wayward priests and unsaintly saints, “just as clay-footed and full of shadows as the rest of us,” and yet, nonetheless, remarkable ministers of divine grace. In his portrayal of such saints, Buechner probes one of the central questions raised by the fourth-century Donatist Controversy—namely, whether the sinfulness of the minister compromises the divine grace which is mediated through his ministry. As we shall see, Buechner's vision is profoundly Augustinian—and yet, his is an Augustinianism inflected through the Protestant Reformation and into Modernity. Even so, Buechner upholds the wisdom and hope of the ancient Church for the contemporary Church, as the Church reels from and reckons with the exposure of moral failures and ecclesial scandals. Episode 2 of Season 2 of Peacemaker was a wild affair across the board. Leading the way was Tim Meadows, being politically incorrect in so many hilarious ways that it was hard to keep track. There was a lot to unpack in this week's Episode, including doppelganger dismemberment, rooftop parties with copious amounts of Bud Light, bird blindness, and a bald eagle wrecking everyone and leaving. The guys break it all down. Is Rey feeling better about things this week? You will have to tune in to find out. Meanwhile, the Trailer Park takes a look at some trailers that snuck by us this past week, including the latest for The Lowdown, Wayward, The Savant, and The Woman in Cabin 10. The guys also get you caught up on the biggest stories in the Nerdosphere, including a delay for Mortal Kombat II, news about Goonies II, trying to figure out what is wrong with Season 51 of SNL, and a quick recap of some announcements that came out of Destination D23.Powered by RedCircle@AttitudeAgg@WrestlngRealist@itsReyCash@PCTunney@itsmedpp@ViolentAesop@TheMindlessPod@therealcplatt@ChairshotMedia@BandwagonNerdsPROWRESTLINGTEES.COM/TheChairshot - Makes a GREAT GIFT!!!About Bandwagon NerdsJoin Patrick O'Dowd, David Ungar, PC Tunney, Rey Cash, and DPP as they keep everyone up on all things nerd and maybe add some new nerds along the way.
