Hellcast is an extreme music talk show, bringing you an unholy barrage of interviews, introspect, reviews, and much more metal madness. Episodes are unleashed biweekly!
metal, ya, great.
Listeners of HELLCAST | Metal Podcast that love the show mention:J Dawg guessing Mortician horror movie intros, 1 minute reviews, Bands you know songs you don't, cool stuff. It's the Halloween 2021 episode of HELLCAST!
Back at Hells Headbangers to ease drop on J Dawg interviewing Adam Schnellenbach from the YouTube channel Vital Vinyl Vlog. While we wait for Adam to call J Dawg gives the latest Hells Update and tour of the shop, showing off some of his latest Vinyl grabs. Other conversations break lose and then Adam calls in to save the day. In total half ass fashion I record the Death metal spirited interview while we get a glimpse of J Dawg's office. If nothing else this a a half assed HELLCAST!
Collector Alexis Morrow has a few titles in her pursuit to find and restore vintage flyers, posters, etc. We take a look at Milwaukee Metal Fest, Finnish Death Metal, Relapse Records and a lot more. Tommy G from Redefining Darkness completes the roundtable trio as we gasp at these relics. Tap your eyes and ears into this episode of HELLCAST!
Deeper in the South to the Florida Death Metal scene Intoxicated is among the many bands that were not in the spotlight. Intoxicated frontman Erik Payne informs the band's history while running into Chuck Shuldiner, Trevor Perez and the usual suspects from the classic death metal era. Somewhere we try to figure out what it means to be an elitist fan and Tommy G joins in, redefining darkness on this episode of HELLCAST!
Suited up in denim it's time make some renovations to the patches and help those young bucks wondering how to make a "battle vest". Cool Scheisse was sent so we take a dive into some Death metal relics, Hellcast stickers, T-shirts, etc. Of course you were still wondering who the contestants were for the 'Fastest and sickest Death metal bands, so find out who we consider and play this episode of HELLCAST! Follow REAPER METAL PRODUCTIONS: http://www.reapermetalproductions.com
The internet is asking how to make a battle vest and that's stupid, so let Don of the Dead explain how to really make a vest. Along the way we get into Running Wild abandoning satanic lyrics, carrying the torch of a band through the years, being extreme in a modern world and more. There is a point we listen to 'Red is the color of Ripping Death' the title track of the new NunSlaughter album. Press play is how you can make it through this episode of HELLCAST! BUY "Damn the Machine - The Story of Noise Records" https://amzn.to/3l2aO1T Get your copy of the new NunSlaughter https://nunslaughter.bandcamp.com/album/red-is-the-color-of-ripping-death
Naturally collectors are obsessive so there are plenty of rantings we can spout about Vinyl, CDs and even shirts. At least that's the obsessive fan Eddie Satan is in what could be a segment called metal therapy. Cool shi-stuff was sent from fans so we take a listen in another 6 x 9 seconds music clips. 8 years ago we had the struggles of young man named Manny with his faith and heavy metal on the show and you might remember with us to make this episode of HELLCAST!
It's a conversation that can go many places, the fastest, sickest and heaviest metal bands. What defines fast, sick or heavy? Is speed as fast drum beat or guitar riff? So many ways to analyze and analyze it we do on this episode of HELLCAST!
J Dawg used to take a lot of photos at shows in the 2000s and some have been used in Hells Headbangers reissues like Mortician and Exhumed. So we finally get to take a look into his personal photo album. As you should follow Reaper Metal Productions on social media, perhaps like J Dawg you do not, so we do a catch up of the latest questions that only nerds like Reaper would ask i.e, "Are 2 on 1 CDs pointless?" It is said to be 4 9 seconds this time but I think it really is 1 9 seconds plus the conversation which dropped a new J Dawg 1 liner, the namesake of this episode, if you're too dumb to like metal then you are too smart to like HELLCAST.
It's the Halloween season so this week's records on the wrong speed are horror movie soundtracks. That is about as seasonal as the episode gets as we consult the most exquisite taste in metal METAL ARCHIVES random band profile for a reaction to 5 of it's results. Album Wars, overlooked bands and a few other conversations ensue the Face of Death to HELLCAST!
J Dawg is back for the attack and has some HH stories to warm his welcome. From there we catch up on Florida Death Metal, the cool stuff fans have sent us. Japanese metal bands 7 inches on the wrong speed! Will they pick chipmunks or heavy doom? 7 inches can either be 33 RPM or 45 RPM so finally we can potentially hear the bands too fast. Fast kill, Metalucifer, Gorgon and Butcher ABC. J Dawg is looking a lot different on this episode because Jørgen - Nattskog is sitting in as a special guest. Since launching the RMP FAN CLUB we wanna interact more with the community that makes the show possible by giving a glimpse into who you are what you do. Sprinkled with the typical HELLCAST segments, this episode is a great opportunity for ALBUM WARS as two fans can dive in to decide about ANNIHILATOR. It's a blaze in the UK sky with HELLCAST! This episode has absolutely nothing to do with The Great Kat, in fact I don't think she is that great. But it is a catchy title to the otherwise underlining theme of this episode CURIOSITY. Such as J Dawg hearing early Biohazard or Prong. His favorite IMMORTAL album and whether or not he looked deeper into his CDs in the 90s to notice credits to people like Terry Date. Be curious yourself and just watch/listen to this episode of HELLCAST! Cause this is the special edition feather ruffling episode with Jesse of ASSIMILATION. Hailing from Canada Jesse partakes in the ALBUM WAR Razor Evil Invaders versus Violent Restitution, Random Classic Metal Records on the wrong speed and 6 9 seconds. One of the best feather ruffling was that of Carnivore and Peter Steele but we dive into a deeper appreciation for his body of work. And then we talk about some good extreme CHRISTIAN METAL bands. Grab your ruffles and tune into this HELLCAST! We announced the RMP FAN CLUB where one of the perks is a HELLCAST shout out and to honor it what better way than J Dawg to blow out a dick candle! It is truly the dawn of progression in this episode, it is the first episode in the new studio with those new mics so many fans have requested. It is another ending point for HELLCAST, not the show but our time in the studio you have seen the entire life of the video podcast. Before we move on with our set up in the new studio, let's take a moment to catch up with all that has happened recently by sprinkling information into our show format. That means a new 6 9 Seconds of only Reaper Metal releases. Reacting to a handful of the VHS concerts posted on RMP, 1 man bands and what that has to do with Slasher Dave, Last Days of Humanity among other records on the wrong speed. Finally, a question for you and a potential to grab a piece of history. *Spoiler* it really isn't that significant and it is at the end of this new episode of HELLCAST! -Show Notes- This episode is RMP themed so everything mentioned is at: http://www.reapermetalproductions.com
For us, nothing with CORE is good outside Grindcore and early Hardcore. A request was made numerous times for J Dawg to hear Deathcore, so here we are reacting to some of the top names of the deathcore scene. We do redeem the quality of the music in this episode with a new 6 x 9 Seconds music clips, which is far beyond 6 clips because the segment is just that good. Album Wars: DECEASED Supernatural Addiction vs Fearless Undead Machines, definitely leave your choice in the comments and play the rest of this HELLCAST!
I guess we overlooked Grindcore when assessing the evolution of extreme metal. Where does Grindcore have it's place in the progression of metal sub genres? It's a grindcore theme episode so we have 'Records on the wrong speed' Grind edition, Album Wars: Horrified vs World Downfall, 6 x 9 Second Grinding music clips and a whole lot more banter cause J Dawg is a part of HELLCAST! It all starts with a not so pleasant review of J-Dawg from a Christian ex-Fan on iTunes. Then we sprinkle a new "Album Wars" "6 9 Seconds" and "Records on the wrong speed". Within this heap of jibber jabber VADER is brought up and the early days of the Polish Metal scene, how hard it was to be a fan and how it sounds oddly similar to the Brazilian scene. There's plenty of other dialogue oozing out the sides for one nice greasy episode of HELLCAST!
Extreme speed metal when records are on the wrong speed! We have new 'Records On The Wrong Speed' 'Album Wars' and '6 x 9 Seconds'. We pick out some favorite Scott Burns / Morrisound albums since Reaper just spoke to him on the INTO THE DARKNESS interview. J-Dawg dives deep into his love for early CRYPTOPSY and particularly Lord Worm era, it's as you would expect from another HELLCAST!
In death metal spirit we chat. I guess blame it on Napalm Death frontman Barney Greenway for being on Reaper Metal Productions recently and it was a recording from Benediction which displayed as J Dawg calls it Death Metal Spirit. Which means a new segment of 'Records on the wrong speed' featuring NAPALM DEATH, DEICIDE, BENEDICTION and more. ALBUM WARS: Update and this week's challenge. It's something of a good episode it's HELLCAST!!
Stricken with a horrible disease Reaper and J-Dawg like many are quarantined and utilizing the time wisely. With new segments "Records on the wrong speed" "Album Wars". HELLCAST is back with critical madness.-Show Notes-Listen to more HELLCAST Episodes...
