Is My Hemp-CBD Product Legal? Avoiding the Dreaded Non-Compliance” Letter'

When you can't figure out how avoid the enforcers, best practices is to ask one!  So then who better to help shine a light on the murky and potentially disaster-strewn world of CBD hemp compliance than a former cannabis compliance officer? A gal affectionately known as the ‘weed-whacker’ because of the 28 million pounds of non-compliant marijuana she disposed of in a single year alone?  Kimberly Stuck, the former Denver Marijuana/Hemp Specialist and founder of Allay Cannabis Consulting, a consulting firm helping the hemp and CBD industry navigate FDA compliance pitfalls, jumps into sticky subject of complying with FDA hemp and CBD regulations. Stuck joins HempLogic founder Cory Sharp and Exec. VP of Sales John Tucci for a legal quagmire discussion of ‘how to not have the feds shut you down.’ While the 2018 Farm Bill made hemp and hemp-derived cannabinoids and other extractions legal, it didn’t reallly tell manufacturers how they could ‘legally’ sell it. And so far, the FDA is saying ‘don’t sell it as medicine and don’t add it to foods!’ So... what’s a good (and legal) CBD producer to do? Stuck, who grew to love the cannabis industry in her 'compliance role' so much that she 'switched sides,' works today to help new hemp companies and CBD manufacturers make sure they remain on the right side of the law.  At HempLogic we Believe in the Hemp Farmer. Once the CBD bubble has burst, is hemp fiber and textile the long game for the American hemp industry?  HempLogic founder Cory Sharp thinks fiber is where it’s at, and so does today's guest Skylar Lysaker, CEO of Greenz Supply. A hemp apparel brand focused on sustainable products, Greenz Supply is laser-focused on hemp as the premiere earth-friendly and authentic material to help solve the fashion industry’s pollution problem. Currently, the fashion industry is considered the #2 polluter of the earth beyond oil.   But what they need to get there, Skylar explains, is an abundant supply of American-grown hemp fiber And the processing and production facilities to transform that hemp into wearable fabric. That challenge is vast, and one that many farmers and those new to the industry don’t understand, especially while everyone is distracted by hemp CBD.  But the potential is there for those willing to look long-term. Sharp predicts a market ‘10x that’ of CBD hemp. But what will it take to get farmers, production and the entire industry – especially investors willing to support long-term gains, versus short-term profits – behind the fiber hemp industry? HHOA is a custom harvester operating out of Kansas. They have equipment to first lay down your hemp crop in the field, and then follow-up with a combine that chops and separates biomass from stalk. They travel all across the United States. Oard, with HempLogic founder Cory Sharp and Director of Farm Relations Richard Burton, explains while his way may not be the best way, “it is A way” for hemp farmers to get out of the field and meets a goal of ‘lets get out of the field and move onto 2020.” Oard’s services are one more option that HempLogic and their Harvest Rescue Solution is recommending for the 2019 hemp harvest, depending on each farmer's situation,  In early September, HempLogic put together a “Hemp Harvest Rescue” and is working to help as many hemp farmers as possible to get their product of the field and biomass sold. What could possibly be more exciting than growing industrial hemp? How about an auction to sell 1 million pounds of hemp biomass!  Mark Case, CEO of the International Hemp Auction and Market, plugs the first ever international “Hemp Auction.” Billed as ‘The Hemp Event of the Year’ the event is being held in Franklin, TN from Nov. 19-21st.  HempLogic founder Cory Sharp and Exec VP of Sales John “the Tooch” Tucci, discuss with Case how his auction can act as a life raft for hemp farmers with no buyer for their product. Modeled after the traditional “tobacco auction,” Case got the idea to hold the auction in response to the unprecedented amount of hemp farmers with no buyers for their biomass. The auction will list biomass, smokable flower, CBD, isolate, crude, CBG and even mother plants and clones.  With a goal of selling one million pounds of biomass and 175,000 sq. foot coliseum ot hold it in, Case believes the auction will give hemp farmers the opportunity ‘sell their product to the highest bidder” and remove expensive middle-man brokerage fees. The auction, which will be open only to industry buyers and sellers, will be held in conjunction with a retail holiday marketplace event featuring CBD products and open to consumers. All buyers and sellers for the hemp auction will be vetted, pre-registration opens on Sept. 16th At HempLogic we Believe in the Hemp Farmer. What's Your Hemp Dream? Ross and Dirkson detail the planning, communications and challenges of transporting hemp across the United States, especially when dealing with law enforcement that see marijuana, not a legal load of industrial hemp. Dirksen and Ross were arrested back in January and faced potential ‘life in prison’ charges for a legal load of hemp seized by Oklahoma offices as marijuana. It took seven months of legal maneuvering for the DA to drop the case.  Since then, Ross and Dirkson have been on a campaign to educate law enforcement about hemp transportation issues and are now working on new tracking logistics to follow hemp products all the way from legal hemp farms, to final destinations. Patriot Shield also ships hemp seeds, seedlings and most recenlty, smokable CBD hemp flowers. HempLogic Exec.
